That's not Ace, you can tell it's not him because Lance here is out doors. And when you're out doors, you can't be in the SSC chats. :/ -Lynx
-
Lol, staff abuse, and they point out he byp!@#$%^&*ed a ban? Priorities, anyone? -Lynx

It's always Lupus.

By the way Ace, thanks for preventing all the panic. You're my hero. -Lynx

However, this is all a two-way movement. If SSC are going to agree to letting us develop on what is effectively their network, they are going to need to agree to letting part of their power cease. From the limited interaction I've had with SSC, I can't see this happening. -Lynx

Anyway, I've had dinner. Let me continue my babbling... There are various things which I don't quite like about the SSC billing, however, it's beneficial to the game. The things which make SSC good are: The net-wide Chat The recorded player information The things which make SSC bad are: The amount of bans The biller being antiquated Nobody but inactive people being allowed to make updates For anything to grow, it needs to be worked on. This is simple theory, and should be applied to the game, well, should have been applied to the game for years now. We've got developers, but nobody seems to be able to trust anyone else. This goes for both the SSC biller, and the Continuum client. Therefore, the only way to overcome these problems, is for the players to create a new client, and new biller, which conforms to the previous client and biller. If we step back, and look at this task, we can realise how hard it is. So, basically, in order for development to work, we need to re-create a game which was made by paid professionals, in our spare time. As most developers are mere students, this is an extremely hard task. Therefore, instead of spending hours upon hours on developing things which have extremely high fail rates, maybe we should spend time on things which don't? As far as I can see, ASSS isn't a finished product, instead, it's an open source Linux beauty, with loads of potential. With our latest development (Starlight V1) - We've proven that we can escape most of the security checks made by the client and biller, and with further packet logging, I believe we can successfully connect to the SSC biller without any real problems, however, in order for this to work, we need more organisation between those who actually are savvy enough for good ideas. There are many things which need to be tackled when connecting the SSC biller to an alien biller, primarily how data is handled. When connecting billers, how should messages be displayed, who should be granted access, and should banned players be banned from the alien biller? Should the alien biller only be a short-term solution, or should it be the small steps needed for a global change? These kind of questions all need to be logged, and answered pragmatically, without this basic information, developers can't be expected to go anywhere, and development just seems like a much larger step to take. To be brief though, for any new development to work, it has to be !@#$%^&*ociated with the SSC, and without this imperative connection, it will inevitably fail, no matter how beautiful it is. Our player base consists of newbs, learning new tricks, and then becoming more !@#$%^&*ociated with the game. If we don't account for this, the game will just fail even more than it is today. I'm not saying development is essential to keep the game running, but it is required to keep the game up-to-date, and essential to keep the old players coming back. I've got wind of possible new biller development, however, in order for this to work, we need support from the SSC. Without this, all development is doomed to fail before it even begins. -Lynx

Where's Dr. House when you need him? -Lynx

The SSC biller isn't on one server, at least I don't think it is. I'm pretty sure it uses a load balancer between SSCU/SSCX/SSCI. This could easily explain the different ways in which each server is reacting. The carrot (^) is just a security measure.
-
SSC isn't quite what it was, although it is still an elitest group, and is completely un-democratic, and often the people who get access suck !@#$%^&* to get access, they're good at doing what they do. They've provided a solid (Although antiquated) biller for years, and have provided it well. There were some hick-ups (SVS), however, power is well-spread. I'd like to see a new biller, better yet, I'd like to see a new biller, which SSC allows connection to. I don't think changes should be made in a progessive way, but passively. If programmers are willing to fall to this resolution, then things may be a lot happier at the end. A "renegade" takeover will only cause one thing, population loss. We must preserve what we've already got. :/ Will write more soon, dinner time. -Lynx

I thought this nerd was only a Wiki moderator? Shouldn't the General Moderators be choosing what gets split and what doesn't? Surely there's a conflict of interest here... :/ - Well, seeing as it's now in trash talk, I suppose we can talk about this further. Anyway, if you'd like to read the topic, you'd probably notice that there are a lot more posts which are off topic, which could also be easily placed in here, and you should also notice that I was stating a small opinion, and made apologies for anything which could have helped you realise you are actually a loser with some serious need of human interaction. I still find it funny though, that any other posts which are off topic are ignored, however, when a moderator is offended, even slightly, it gets split, and a blank one-line reason for the split is given, without even the most basic of thought being put into that reason. I've treated Aceflyer in a professional manner already, and he threw it back in my face. I do not need written rules of etiquette when dealing with ASSS on the internet, if they're egotistical !@#$%^&*holes, I'm an egotistical !@#$%^&*hole back... I don't think I can be any more simple with that statement. Nothing what I say is an accident. --- To put this blankly, Aceflyer is an elitist, egotistical, problematic, spineless, scheming pecker-!@#$%^&*. I have no intention to treat him in a kind manner again, as he has no intention to even have the minerals to state his problems with me, to me in person, instead, he decides to spread rumours which you could expect from a five year old in chats which I am not a part of. -Lynx EDIT: No, it started when you became a false powerhouse, Ace. EDIT2: Another edit, just to point out that Aceflyer closed a topic in TRASH TALK for it having no point. Can anybody say, abuse? EDIT3: (lol) I think I've just came up with the best way to measure how newb somebody is, and I think that would be how they take criticism. Ace, you're !@#$%^&*ing up, now it's not just your ?usage that is newb, it's your actions too. What happens when kids that have been playing the game nine months get power, I guess. -Lynx

I don't think I'd notice if the guy who made this topic stopped posting.. I can't even be bothered to look at what his name was... Something to do with Star Trek... -Lynx

Aw, Ace got too much pride to carry on in a topic where his reputation may be getting smeared? No matter, I'll explain further, for those with less competence.. * You do have social issues, you make up with your real life insignificance by trying to gain as much power on an on-line game as possible. (This isn't a flame, this is an opinion, and statement... and observation) * Me stating that your only form of social interaction has been British sitcoms also, is not a flame, it's just me being presumptuous. * Me stating that you talk like a loser, is also a basic statement, however, as it may have offended you, for that, I'm truly sorry sweetie-pie - I'll make it up to you later. --- Also, what Engine did the Jeep have NB? -Lynx

Girlfriend has a lower intestinal disease, I've sat in many conferences, and been with her in many doctor/patient meetings for support. I'd hardly call that gogling, and I think I've got more than enough of an understanding of fibre to know that if you're having a bloody stool, you should avoid anything which is hard to digest, if you interpret hard to digest, as the body not digesting/ignoring it, than that is your own decision. I'll stick by the guys with the Medical Degrees than the "old timer" any day though. Hard to digest foods/Avoid these foods while having stomach problems: Wheat bran wholemeal bread bran flakes Cabbage Broccoli Sweet corn Skins peel Notice, they're all high in fibre, and/or hard to digest. -Lynx
-
Ghost Ship handles it, and is pretty active. Should be up again in no time. -Lynx
-
If you're having a bloody stool, that last possible thing to do is go for foods which are higher in fibre, and therefore much harder to digest (whole wheat grain) for example. As I had previously said, talk to your doctor, he will determine whether he will need a stool sample, and will probably give you processed fibre that isn't as rough to digest, and will make the stool much more dense, and after will probably take the stool sample. Also, stomach ulsters aren't a rare thing, especially if your diet is rich in meats, and if you chew gum, you may as well expect them. UC is also becoming far more apparent in people now-a-days, and it's not a randomly listed disease, as it fits the secondary symptoms. (I am very knowledgeable in UC and !@#$%^&*ociated diseases.) UC is very hard to live with, and if I were in his shoes, I would have already visited the Docs to have it checked off the list. There aren't nearly as many lower-intestinal problems as one may think, and I've read up on most of them. I could list other possibilities, but, why bother when the Doc can tell you a professional diagnoses. Furthermore, the likelyness of it being a worm are rather low, unless the worm had just died, if so, your symptoms would have passed within the first day or so, as worms send false signals to the brain tricking it into thinking that there are no worms present (And a worm will not cause bleeding, as bleeding is caused by the brain indicating pressure difference, and pushing white blood cells to the troubled areas) - this is especially true for internal problems. Also, it's not weird to sometimes have a slight bit of blood in your stool, although, a fuzz would suggest that the blood is occurring earlier in the process, which means you should really have it checked out, even if the problem does begin to cease. - Lynx

Ulsters of the gastrointestinal tract. You're probably eating foods which are hard to digest, therefore, causing the ulsters to bleed and producing a slightly bloody stool. It would be wise to visit the doctors, and quote that you've got a slightly red "fuzz" to your stool, and you're wondering if you have anything to worry about. Possible diasnoses could be simply: Stomach Ulsters Ulcerative Colitis: Which covers ulsters throughout the bottom of the gastrointestinal tract, however, asking people on the internet is re!@#$%^&*ed. P.s. You're going to die. -Lynx

You're going to die.

Although it is fun to drive fast, and it may seem like you're in control of the car, unless you're driving an F1 car, at double the speed limit - you're not going to stop in time. Road cars aren't designed to be driven quickly, even the sporty ones, they're designed to work on the roads. At 60MPH, if you've got 32x30" tyres, ABS, TCS, Engine Breaking, and your car weighs 250KGs, you may well be able to stop your car within the time of an average car stopping at 30MPH, but at 60MPH, reaction times are doubled (on average) - therefore, that kinda speed is generally irresponsible, even if the kid shouldn't have been playing on a road, s/he doesn't deserve to die from it. :/ Also, fuel consumption is based on a lot of different things, but a typical speed for high fuel consumption is from 30-40MPH, if you read fuel consumption charts, they provide what's called an "Urban" reading for an idea of how many MPG you will get in built up "slow moving" areas. However, in a lot of cars now-a-days, gear ratios are changed so they're a lot more economical in slower moving areas. There are also various other "tricks" used such as only applying the first cyclinders in low REV, and in higher REV activating further cyclinders for more power. I'm not sure if it was you (LOSA) that mentioned you drive an SUV, but I know you said you used to drive a Civic. The civic would have probably been a lot better in the standard MPG areas, whereas the SUV is probably a lot better in Urban areas, as their very heavy, and therefore create much more tyre drag at higher speeds, and are much less aero dynamic. Provided you drive a geared (clutched) car, in urban areas, if you keep your rev counter low, and only use engine breaking and avoid using the clutch as much as possible, you will save fuel. (Although, not much...) For higher MPG, always go diesel, however, if you do, you're a tight arse, and you suck. - Lynx

I read on WIRED a few months ago that they found a way of preventing cleaning the AIDS/HIV virus in blood transfusions via. targeting the virus cells with Lasers. I would find the article, but I can't be bothered, it basically states in detail what I said, and is a breakthrough for blood transfusion. -Lynx

Referring to the MGBoard, not SSForum.net - well, that's a "no brainer" - considering that it's generally MG players on the MG Board, I'd think they probably have a slightly higher chance of getting banned, than for example, TW players. :/
