I don't really know. I am really picky about my bikes, but I'll probably buy it in pieces. I've always been a Kona fan, but I might go for a Santa Cruz now that I'm no longer a kid saving 30 quid a week for new bike stuff. Fortunately I am still friends with the guys working at the cycle store, so I can still get pretty good discount. I am not too sure yet though, I went through a BMXing phase before I sold my last bike, so I may go for a simple BMX. Expensive mountain bikes need a lot of riding, and a lot of maintenance. They are also prone to breaking if they're not treated properly. Actually, second-thinking, I think I'll be better off with a BMX as I tend to ride really hard, and they're so much cheaper/easier to maintain. Not quite as good at tricking on them though. I'll probably start my own little project on it though, the last BMX I had I installed some Avid Hydraulic "V-Breakes" on it, so I could trick better. I may do the same again, but try and install some 4Pot hydraulics... I've not got University until Sept 2009, so time shouldn't really be an issue. I guess riding from Feltham to Richmond daily on a BMX may be kinda hard though. 0.o -Lynx
