Why Athiests Should be Kicked Out of America
NBVegita replied to PoLiX's topic in General Discussion
What I find ironic about your statement is that our "modern dating" can confirm the dates of prophies from multiple millenia ago, but can't come close to dating the birth of Christ? Something sounds fishy about that... -
I'm still awaiting an answer for what happens to the people, according to your religion, who never know/have the opportunity to learn about the christian faith. Being that less than 1/3 of the global population is christian, that means that over 2/3 of the world is !@#$%^&*ed? Someone stated that prior to jesus the Jews could get in via good works. Well !@#$%^&* what about the billions of people prior to jesus that were not jews? Were they all automatically !@#$%^&*ed at birth? Such extremeists give a bad name the to christian faith...and the problem is that most of the people I have encountered are such extremists.
-
I still call your god petty. Petty that certain men born onto this plane have no path to "salvation". Say a man is born in the amazon. He never hears of the religion called christianity. What if he instead stumbles upon a buddhist priest, and becomes so enamoured that he is a buddhist convert. What if he never has a religion because he never learns of one? What happens to him then? He is automatically !@#$%^&*ed because his path did not cross with a christian? It would be impossible for this man to find Jesus, and according to you the only way to heaven is through Jesus. How about the billions of people in countries that never have the chance to learn of your religion, what of them? I believe it was the current pope who is proposing a revolutionary ideal, that the christians, hindu's, jews ect., although they go about it in different ways, are actually worshipping the same god. I used to be an agnostic, but now I claim no religion or affiliation. Maybe there is an affiliation for people like me and I just don't yet know it. I believe what I said in the last paragraph. In my heart, although it goes against every logical cell in my body, that there is a God. I also believe that the God each of the forementioned religions worship is the same. As stated by the prophet Jesus, each man must find the way to god through himself, and these variying religions allow people to find God in their own ways.

rolf at quoting a video game in your sig And rofl that I know that you are quoting a video game in your sig.

Freedom is not either choosing to pick cotton or be killed. Or mayhaps run away and be hunted down like an animal. As stated there is a difference between freedom and free will.
-
If you are property the second you are born, that does not make you free. There is a difference between being born free and being born with free will.
-
my question is that if someone is born into slavery, how can you say they are born free? We are not all born the same way, from the same place, or from the same everything. We are not all the same. The only thing that is a constant is a sperm and an egg.
-
Freedom is not free, nor is it inherited. Case in point, as a slave, you are not born free. You were born into slavery. If you are born into a surpressive dictatorship, militaristic or governmental, you are not free. There are billions of people in this world that did not inherit freedom.

Why Athiests Should be Kicked Out of America

Thunder I'd like you to show me where Hinduism, for example, the oldest known religion, next to maybe paganisms, or Jainism, or Buddhism are proven inaccurate in their accountings. Also simply because the people and or places in the bible may have existed does not mean that the events that occured actually happened. In fact most religions don't deny the man Jesus Christ existed, but many of them believe, as I do, that he was very similar to Muhammed, that he was simply a prophet. Also I couldn't get into my old college library account as I don't have access anymore, but I still implore you to investigate that further. -
Can you cite those sites thunder?
-
I'm telling you that what you read in the bible is not what Jesus said. I am not mistaken. I implore you to go to a library, or you might actually have to purchase some books, but truly investigate the man Jesus Christ beyond the bible. You say you are encouraged to question the bible, yet you blindly follow it. He preached against repe!@#$%^&*ive prayer, for if you say one prayer over and over it loses its sincerity. I have not purchased any books as I had a great resource of them from my university. If you research much of his sermons has been changed and adjusted to fit the needs of the church. But this is a useless arguement to engage in, as you've already stated that your bible is to you irrefutable truth, so refuting it with anything not in your bible means that you will discount it.

I apologize, you are correct.

Why the denied him the right to place his wreath is because, conveniently enough, the place he wished to place his wreath is surrounded by construction at the moment. Such that no tourist/citizens are allowed in there at this time. They caught a break there. And also sever, that article is over a year old. After that article, as we had gotten into a long debate about, there were issues with the february 07 IAEA report, and Irans cooperation and transparency. Now I do not know the current congruency of the report/cooperation/transparency, but I was just defending that since your article, there was direct evidence of Iran refusing and avoiding aspects that the IAEA had requested to make the scope of the Iranian nuclear project clear. And no one can deny that Iran has been, and is even today training/supplying iraqi insurgents. We've confiscated Iranian weapons, and Iranian officials in Iraq. Ahmenijad is a fanatic in the same way as Hitler. (Don't take that to assume that I'm stating he will create a second, well first in his mind, holocaust). He is brazenly intelligent, charismatic, powerful and dangerous. He tried to play to the naive by making foolish comments like "we have no homosexuals", but that is just strategy. Strictly because of the power, intelligence and charisma of this man, he is a bigger danger to the "west and europe" than Russia is. And as Ail said, the problem with his diplomatic outreach to the president was that he had planned to discuss the dissolving of one of our allies all the while he is supporting the enemies of our country in an ongoing war. On a positive note, no matter if it is simply a ploy or not, Iran has closed its borders at six spots with Iraq where there are strong masses of insurgents. I feel if Iran truly believes in a powerful Iraq, they should assist the "west and europe" in stabalizing Iraq. That would create, albeit strenuous, positive diplomatic terms between countries that have not had diplomatic talks in over a decade. This would also assist in removing western powers from the middle east. It is a no lose situation for Iran, as they would be seen as the country who "saved" Iraq and sent the U.S. troops home.

Actually if you read historical data from Jesus's sermons, never once did jesus claim that they way to heaven, or the father was through him. That is where I state that the very foundations of your beliefs are misinterperated. Jesus preached that the way to god was through each man, that you must find the way to god through yourself. He also believed that a man's prayer should be done privately, behind doors, in the quiet of his own home. You do Jesus Christ no justice by worshipping the distorted martyrism corrupted by the church. As stated previously, most of what the man Jesus preached goes directly against what the Christian church is today.
-
An athiest is someone who simply believes that there is no god. An agnostic believes there is a god, they simply choose not to !@#$%^&*ociate with any other religions.
-
If Jesus Christ is your savior, everyone beyond 2000 years ago lived in purgatory? I love the self righteousness of a religion that is relatively young compared the most of the religions of the world. You are fully convinced, just as the people who strap bombs to themselves are convinced that they are doing gods work. And if Jesus Christ is your savior I suggest you actually read a few of his sermons. He was against most of what the churches stand for today. A good starting point would be the sermon on the mount. And keep researching. You claim to worship a man whose ideals you contradict on a weekly basis.
-
But inversely, what if you are walking the WRONG path? What if your God is not the god who judges you at your death? What if you find that there is nothing after your death? I am a good man. Not because I follow the morals that a higher being has planned out for me. I don't do things because some little book tells me to, or because I'm afraid of not getting into "heaven". I am a good man simply because I choose to be. I expect nothing in return. Now if when I die, the christian god is the one who judges me, and he looks at my life, if he decides that because I did not kneel in a church praising his glory, that being a sincere, honest, hard working man, expecting nothing in return, is not enough to earn me a spot in your gods "heaven", then I would rather not spend eternity with such a petty god.

Why Athiests Should be Kicked Out of America

for Ail: A direct quote from Issac Newton: "Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done." -
you're right. There is only one truth. The problem is that it is impossible to know that truth, so thus neither side is right, and neither side is wrong.
-
lol emb I don't know what you're talking about. And congrats sama, and good luck.
-
His !@#$%^&*umption is not wrong, as you can't prove it wrong. But neither is your belief, as it can't be proven wrong. The problem with religion or non-religion, is that neither side is right or wrong in their beliefs. Ultimately it goes like this: He believes that X is made by god. You show X scientifically. He believes that god created the science the created X, so thus god created X. You still believe X scientifically. He still believes X religiously. Neither of you are wrong, yet neither of you are right.

Why Athiests Should be Kicked Out of America

!@#$%^&* I'm not christian...!@#$%^&* I'm not even religious, but I love christmas, the music, all of it. !@#$%^&* on a side note, I even love the 10 commandments, great movie! No body forces you to pray or to watch christmas specials. One of my good friends was married a few years back and had a full catholic wedding. Of course I was standing in it, and when everyone knelt to pray, I didn't. They all understood that, just as I understood that I can respect their religion, and sit through a christian mass even if it is not what I believe in. What I think does go too far is there were a lot of public places in some states that this past christmas were not allowed to have a christmas tree set up. I don't care if you're christian or not, Christmas is a national holiday. If you choose not to celebrate it, that is completely up to you, but don't infringe on the other people who do choose to celebrate it. And I'm sorry, if seeing a pine tree decorated with ornaments and lights really upsets you so much, I think you may need a little help. -
It sure as !@#$%^&* does calm you down. As shown in most videos the massive pain renders most targets temporarily immobile. Thus allowing the officers to to detain them. I'll hit each of your points. The first two who attempted to escort him from the podium were a head shorter than him. Out of the 6 campus securtiy members, two of them had his ankles, not in any way attempting to put him into cuffs, one was holding the cuffs, one was standing off to the side, and two were attempting to pull his arms behind his back. When he resisted to the point where the security was having visible difficulty in placing his hands behind his back, he was warned that he would have a taser used if he continued to resist. He did, and he was tasered. If you notice they did not initially attempt to arrest him. As requested by a peer who was coordinating the event, he was asked to be removed for violating the rules of the forum. He then began yelling, and avoiding removal. A third officer comes in, amidst all of his yelling and attempts to carry the boy up the stairs....not quite an attempt at arresting the lad. Once at the top of the stairs still yelling, he attempts to run through the guards and out the door. This is when they attempt to arrest him for disturbing the peace. Also handcuffs are allowed to be used to detain a person, prior to reading them their rights. It is at the time they move from detaining you at the scene to arresting you that they must read you your rights. Many people have been handcuffed and never arrested. Once they removed him from the room, to restrict any further disturbance, they read him his rights. And then he said that the government was going to kill him. Actually the formal charges against him are a misdemeanor count of disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest. Which in a legal sense, if you are resisting the police from detaining you, that is resisting arrest. And yes I have been hit by a taser. My sister teaches kickboxing and self defense classes, and I have been the "!@#$%^&*ailant" in multiple classes. I have been tasered 6 times. Each time I had to sign a waiver incase to incidental death/injury. The purpose of the class was to show these woman how effectively a taser will disable the !@#$%^&*ailant, while also showing the pain the !@#$%^&*ailant incurs. The pain is excruciating, but once the shock is over, the pain subsides quickly. You do feel a strange for an hour or so, and then you just feel faintly off for another few. But I'm telling you that while you are being shocked, you cannot move, and even for a few momoents after too Why would you ask that I have done this 6 times? Each time I was given $1500.00 from the sponsor of the facility. $1500 for a few moments of crippling pain....really worth it when you're trying to buy a house

no I disagree, being a taser is a non lethal weapon, with on a standard no lasting effects, it is not excessive. If 6 members of campus security are having difficulty detaining one man, that alone should warrant being able to taser the guy. The fact is that even with 6 campus security around him, they could not get him into cuffs until they used the taser on him. Plain and simple if he hadn't resisted, and forcefully resisted, he wouldn't have been tasered. They warned him that if he didn't stop fighting he was going to be tasered. excessive force? I call bull !@#$%^&*.
