  1. Twister = VIE client and remember that It no longer functions... The server control of the greens is one of the reasons why (?) Watchgreen was added as a server command, not a client command, during the time before Continuum (again ?)
  2. I'm pretty sure the server determines the green at the time it is spawned. Security.
  3. tell him to make sure he enters the zone in spec mode. Other than that, maybe he has a really bad (slow HD), the lag settings in MERC are too tight, or he just lags badly.

    zone

    Hit the "escape" key (ESC), THEN read the little panel. Then hit the "c" key (capitalization is not required.) Then use "page up" and "page down" keys to move the arrow to the setting you wish to change. Hit the "Enter" key, THEN change the value, THEN hit the "enter" key again. Continue changing the settings are mush as desired. When finished, you will want to save those settings, so hit the "F10" key to save them. It will take a few seconds before the server begins using the new settings. Topic LOCKED - I guarantee it's been resolved now... mArk, if you desire more help in this forum, feel free to start a new topic with the details of you questions, you may also with to visit shanky's server help site at http://www.shanky.com/server/
  5. $10 sez its his name starting with a symbol.
  6. $10 sez its a public, school, or work computer.
  7. java and javascript are 2 completely different things, but the options for them are both found in the same area (Tools>Internet Options)

    As far as the encoding, you can use whatever format .wav (uncompressed) that you like, from 8bit mono at 11KHz to 16bit stereo at 44.1KHz. The decision should be based on the duration of your sound clip and the quality you desire for it. Always remember that the file size must be 32k or smaller in order to use it in-game.
  9. I have no clue what this thread is all about, so I'm going to lock it. ~SphinX~, if you have a specific problem that requires !@#$%^&*istance, please start a new topic and describe your situation so that we can help, Thanks.
  10. It's the webserver's fault for !@#$%^&*igning it an image MIME type, These things are configuurable on the server end, and it IS possible to change it there. The PHP code I posted is a workaround. (the basic reasoning is this: how does the webserver know to process a PHP page, rather than just sending you the whole page like it does with an .html file or .txt file? It is configured to do so...the same thing can be done with file types of .lvl)
  11. I think he means what it says when you pick up the green...in that respect.
  12. If you are able to see an active connection to the zones at the main menu, then you may simply need to change your name... make sure that it starts with a letter, not a symbol (like: )(*- etc)
  13. Hit stealth at the same time you release a decoy, it will improve effectiveness 300% It also helps to be off the enemy's screen when you do this, but if you are being chased by a group, usually you can split them up with this technique.
  14. I did this years ago, to mimic SVS prox on all mines and bombs... The final images were 1600x1200 (without lvl4 rings.)
  15. Call it whatever you want, i would assume that if you were to use the code i posted, that you would research it just a tad and learn how to customize it to your needs.
  16. php: header("Content-Type: application/force-download"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="myfile.abc"");
  17. There is a kit for the PS2 for linux, also. The basic purpose is for custom game design. http://www.us.playstation.com/peripherals....x?id=SCPH-97047
  18. If a map editor changes the .lvl format to do as you ask...then it will become an invalid map in the game. So thats an impossibility. I do know that you can use javascript to make links into a "download" link instead of just a direct link to the file... maybe try that option. edit: Code to do this, found here. http://www.planet-source-code.com/vb/scrip...d=2183&lngWId=2
  19. the answer is in the other post, read Akai's code there.
  20. unfortunately, I don't know the answer to that 8( I *think* I heard once, that continuum changes ports for security reasons, but I've never actually looked into it. Most common answer to people in similar situations as your (dormatories, university labs, libraries, etc) is that the network to which those computers are connected is specifically designed to prevent gaming, and so there is no workaround. You could try to get the network admin to setup a socks5 proxy for you or to fix this problem for you, but I assume that if you were able to get the help of a network admin, you probably wouldn't be here in the first place... Sorry for the bad news!
  21. It would basically be a 'nix client, which has been in the spotlight a couple of times, but has never been completed and released. Try using a Windows emulator... continuum shouldn't be too heavy on the CPU to work like this.
  22. Actually, that would show you the port that the server is using, not continuum. He needs to know the local ports to use in order to forward them through a local intranet/router... The subgame(server) ports are irrelevant for this.

    it is because your name starts with a Symbol. Names cannot start with (most) symbols, such as: {
  24. bmps are normally 8 bit or 32 bit. If you are playing in 16 bit color mode, your image editing prgram might not like 16 bit bmp's
