  1. everything a client sends has to be double checked by the server. Weapon delay when client firing received, player position when client send 'turning to a different angle' (angle speed check too), ...
  2. don't think bush thought that up, he's just a dummy the government shows to the outside world, much as every president. Things like that were probably managed & created by some obscure governemnt department nobody knows about
  3. nooooooooo my green bar you just had to jinx it didn't you
  4. war only benefits economy in the countries that won and had no losses (on own soil). Economy in japan & europe was crushed after ww2, and usa greedily used that to boost its own economy because europe had but no choice than to import to rebuild everything
  5. have you fallen to the point to where you can't live without seeing partly naked women pics every 5 minutes ?
  6. just format the usb like it were a bootable floppy ?
  7. hold shift or ctrl (forgot which one) while drawing circles, that will center the circles around your mouse
  8. useful for my search history (yes i know, and yes i don't care if it logs everything, it can be handy sometimes when i have to retrieve a site i went to long ago) menu of translate to english (can be handy on japanese/chinese sites) and yes pop up blocker, although ie7 blocks most of it... btw any "pop under" blocker or auto-redirect to sites like errorsafe crap somewhere (god i hate those)
  9. where does the likelyness come from that iran goes hostile ? They make pretty good profit from export to europe and russia, why would they turn against them ? If iran would go hostile and made ICBMs and/or other long ranged weaponry, they would target the US, not europe. Especially with america having the at!@#$%^&*ude problem of "me and nobody else" or "surpress any other country that threathens the power of USA", and threats about attacking iran sure doesn't help that fact (if it would ever come to that, don't be in the us army, iran has 900000 troops + 11mil that can be mobilized, wouldn't want to go hostile on that. ~source wikipedia)
  10. stylexp or windowblinds installed ? I had troubles with certain windowblinds skins
  11. same
  12. i find it pretty stupid that it says "Moderator" when you're in a topic/forum part you can't moderate at all.
  13. who says it's a defensive system? maybe thats just the cover? And yeah, putin should start aiming at usa, not europe You could compare this with you and your neighbour that you dislike. One time the neighbour sets up some sort of device in your backyard (or very close to it) to prevent like ehh moles coming to his garden. While that might be the case, you doubt its purpose, would you like it to be there ? I think not
  14. zoom out once, try drawing with pencil fast with full screen radar ticked and without. OR you could just update the radar only when the action is done, like when you mouseup in most cases
  15. well, let it be optional then , but definately not forced because the difference between off & on is kinda big in performance
  16. don't spam here, we're in the world politics forum remove this post + the 2 one above please
  17. Yet, once again, america managed to piss off a lot of people of europe & russia. If you haven't heard (because you were on mars for the entire week), it's about their so-called construction of a "ballistic shield" in poland and czech to be able to intercept long range missiles from iran and others in that area. Personally i agree with russia, it's just a provocation, the missiles aren't even near as capable to hit american territory from that distance. I find it pretty disturbing that america tries to put bases everywhere, even on non-american soil, it's like they want to control the entire world. And if they really want to surpress russia, they should come up with better excuses than the ones they've made now
  18. it was quite easy to do actually, the biggest problem was to keep it verrrrrrry speedy (i used DMA access for the picture, thats why it can be that fast )
  19. Due to recent complaints about slowness i recompiled DCME with all boundary checks and floating point error checks off in the compile options. This can give a huge boost in speed (with my particle engine i went from 800ms --> 100ms), especially with a lot of floating point calculations and arrays (the latter especially in DCME). Note though, that when it crashes now, it'll crash good. Windows XP handles still handles it pretty well, throws Access Violations and with the error send report thing. But for win95/98/Me users, any error will result in a BSOD. Luckily most of the methods are surrounded by error checks, so that won't hopefully occur (but hey, theres always a bug lurking around). You could compare it with compiling a c program that has no array boundary checks and you let it overflow, that kinda error. Try if you find DCME too slow, else use the normal version (although it doesn't matter THAT much if you use xp) Note to sama: throw out the f*cking full screen radar display (especially the forced ones when zoomed out much), it slows everything down to a crawl
  20. (most) universities/colleges have firewalls that block all inbound connections, unless they are on an ignore list (browsing, mail, updates for progs are all outbound)
  21. it's very good for europe though, the economy here is steadily rising because of bad economy in the us: lower import costs, etc..
  22. what for do you need the menu bar so much anyway ? If i need it i press ALT and there it is, but i rarely need it. my ie setup is: - adress bar | search (cant get the !@#$%^&* box gone) - google toolbar - favorite list pinned (advantages of having a widescreen )
  23. oO", what specs do you have ?
  24. good luck to all those people on myspace in 5 years when they look for jobs. Most companies look up the applicant's name to see his/her history. Guess what will pop up on their search results then eh (and internet = lasting forever, so he/she might have done stupid things in the past and be realllly stupid enough to post it on the internet, and it will haunt them forever) Moral of the story: refrain from posting everything you did/do on the internet under your real name (or even nickname in some cases)
