  1. Do the decoys just float off by themselves, or do they fly around you, or fly with you in sync (but distanced from you)?
  2. Already made a post about this at http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=23999 (except maybe in the wrong forum?).
  3. Kudos to MikeTheNose! /facepalm at naming the image explosion1.png when it's supposed to be explode1.png Thread is complete.
  4. Just hop into BlueT Jackpot SVS and then ?go sniper40. Private message me if I don't say anything.
  5. Ok! Block's LVZ works only when I am in windowed mode. Doesn't matter if I have Vsync on or not. EDIT: I figured out what the issue was with the two pixel stars following the bomb (bomb trail). If you use a 1x1 GIF, Continuum will not handle the graphic properly and will lead to animation and graphical glitching. If you use a 1x1 PNG instead, Continuum will handle it correctly without any issues. For some images though, Continuum will handle 1x1 GIFs without issues. For the ones that do have issues, using a 1x1 PNG guarantees resolution. The difference between the two image formats is that GIF provides a significant compression difference for a 1x1 100%-black image than does PNG. This only matters if you're a perfectionist (like me) who tries to save space down to the very byte.
  6. Demo of game: Continuum v0.40 Release date: September 13, 2007 Target price: Free Gameplay footage: If I didn't have such bad Internet I would record some 1080p/HD quality footage. I have a registered copy of Fraps if anyone ...
  7. He isn't trying to be funny Grav. You think he's joking?
  8. I would say that you should go with the assumption and hopes that Valve will publish and host the Continuum client for free, rather than anticipate paying for it. As mentioned before, they already host a lot of things for free. Compared to most of those, Continuum is hardly near the same filesize. I don't see a reason why they shouldn't accept Continuum for free. First, I think we should try and see what kind of reply Valve would give. Then we can think more about money (if necessary based on Valve's reply). I want to know whether they accept or decline, and if they decline -- why?
  9. I already have that image fixed as a 1x1 black pixel (which means there is no bomb trail -- YET ). @Blocks Giving your LVZ a try! EDIT: Works. Thanks.
  10. I think your paragraph is too wordy then. Too little text and too much text could have reverse affects -- and just by looking at your paragraph, do you think anyone at Valve would be interested in reading a foreign/alien paragraph that big (just by looking at it and not reading anything)? By the way, I like your "selling points in summary."
  11. Just found out that the two different pixel star colors (white and gray) are part of the bomb trail. If you totally black out colors.bm2 and gradient.bm2, fire a bomb and follow your bomb, you can observe two pixels (with reasonable spacing between the two) trailing after the bomb.
  12. It might be wise to include that Subspace/Continuum is an excellent past-time game to play when people are bored and have nothing else or better to do.
  13. 1. @Lynx Valve would not be hosting our servers. They would be hosting the game client installer and add Continuum to their listings. 2. For a game as small as this, I can guarantee you that it would cost Valve nothing to publish and host this game. There are many free games out there, many of which are small-indie, arcade, and fan-made. There are also a lot of Half-Life and Half-Life 2 mods published for free (of course the argument here is that it routes back to their product, so publishing community mods would only be a plus for them). 3. At first the idea of in-game advertising sounds nice and interesting, but I don't think that will work. 4. Humbly appealing to Valve would be a good shot. I wouldn't necessarily say that we need a "more trusting" person to speak with them, but rather someone who is good at negotiation and speech. In fact, I would be perfectly ok with Turbo being that person -- he would definitely be better than what I could accomplish when it comes to speaking to people. One guy in Australia raised enough money in their local gaming community to pay Gabe Newell to fly out to Australia to see their Half-Life 2 mod. +1
  14. I think I will be aiming to get this over and out, so I need some support. Right now there are only two positions that I need (for ASSS): * Lead zone manager (1 person) - Needs to have experience and knowledge of ASSS. I need to have someone supervise directory and file structure as well as assist me in operating ASSS, which I do not expect to do very much (will explain at end of this post). * Module programmers (any help welcome) - Breath my idea into a living creature. The reason I do not expect to do very much work is because as far as I can think, all the work is already done! The leftover is just getting the modules in and out. At the moment I am working on finishing complete Sniper porting (LVZ) for the sniper arenas, but only one of these three maps are relevant to the whole project. I do not remember if I mentioned this in my idea thread, but for each new game (or "round") a different map would be played. Only full-sized maps qualify to be in the map cycle. Anyway, if all comes out well, there is a good chance I would be shipping this out to players as "Nation SVS" or some other zone name.
  15. One of the things that still needs to happen is to mirror subspacedownloads.com's database to major free file hosts like FilePlanet, FileFront, etc. I just have to collect up enough energy and motivation to retry this after my over-persistent previous attempt to get a copy of all the files easy. I do wonder if it would be possible to get Subspace its own website at FileFront and FilePlanet...
  16. Alright, so after paying someone $30 to help me smash a bug I encountered with Snrrrub's directory server on my laptop and the dedicated server, I am officially putting ds1.hlrse.net (previously auto.subdir.net) back online! In a couple of weeks an update will be made to ds1.hlrse.net that will allow public access to the statistic files generated by the directory server. Then someone here who has the appropriate webdeveloping skills can produce a population statistics or convert Maverick's scripts to take in the XML feed. @doc_flabby You really need to fix those bugs in your directory server. Look at the mess of dead zones from your cache that are appearing in mine.

Come on Grav, just let it go.
  18. Bug smashed! Problem: DLL hell Solution: Install Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 SP1 Runtime Library (vcredist2005SP1_x86.exe - 2,660 KB) Can't install it for whatever reason? Download the attachment msvcrt.zip and extract msvcrt.dll into the same folder as your dirserver.exe. msvcrt.zip Still have problems? Download the second attachment and pop the archived msvc*80.dll files into the same folder as your dirserver.exe. msvcX80.zip
  19. I don't really have money to donate, but I do everything within my power and resources to support and contribute to the game. QFT. I think having the game available via Steam will do a lot of good for the community. Subspace is a good past-time when people are bored and have nothing better to do.
  20. I forgot to set the default startup for Section 31 Test Zone to disabled. That zone isn't supposed to be there any more.
  21. We can change the background color, but there's nothing on the pixel stars? /facepalm What has Continuum come to?
  22. Meh, I practically blacked out everything in my colors.bm2 file and still nothing. I know there is 1 row that deals with the black background color.
  23. EDIT: Where's the delete button? D: EDIT2: Meh, no option to delete own post.
