DS baby. I used to play SWR and RS and GW but all those zone died and DS took over my life.

I never liked MG, the settings just bugged me. Anyway oh well, woulda thought DS would die before MG but SS is weird these days. Died the same way RS did looks like. Whatever just less infantry competition now.

Yeah, Mike(T4) and I were working on Thirdspace together for a good while. We first me when I took some of his ISO based Starcraft ships for a zone I was making (at the time Subspace 3D). You'll find him on the boards still under a different moniker, not sure witch, he changes names as much as the wind changes directions. P.S. Yeah, I hosted that zone for a short while on the SS3D server, it took us a couple of days to get the flames to come out just right (server lag) You still have the zone folder? I'm just interested in the flame settings and the bombgfx lvz.

So it finally happened. The oppressive reigns of our former DS dictatorship have been slashed! The restrictive bindings of our former rulers cast off! Ownership of the zone has transferred to CRe and Dav1. In this most glorious event has marked a new era of life into the heart of SSCC Desert Storm! No longer tethered by the tendrils of irrational thought, poor leadership, close mindedness or cruelty... we are now in a time of hope. Hopefully this will bring about a time for great things to be done in DS finally without stifling or foolish intervention. The days of player abuse will also go the way of the Dodo, our players are our lifeblood and will be treated as such. We are here to serve you, not vica versa. To celebrate this momentous occasion we will be having a pub event on Sunday, August 30th all day! There will be pub events for cred prizes including Spree and Rabbit and much much more. The game format will be mildly tweaked that day for an epic CTF game. To find out what that entails you will have to show up. The higher the JP goes the higher the periodic cred prizes will be all day! Many of the old vets have began to return and we look forward to seeing more of you every day. I dunno. The whole point is I'm trying to replicate that flamethrower effect in settings and aesthetics because it was damn near perfect. Settings is definitely the part I don't quite get. I'm guessing the firerate has to go way down to near 0 and the bomblive time has to be fairly low as well. If anyone had a zone folder that would be spiffy. Wormhole pointed me to a subarena in EG that uses some of the gfx from there but the flame is not the same.

Lol that sounds like it! How much do I have to pay you? Lol basically I'm asking because the flamethrower effects were impressive and I'd like to mimic that but I'd rather see the cfg/lvz to see how it was done perfectly so I can understand it rather than start from scratch. Flame effects are a pain.

Anyone remember this guy? T4 Judgment Day or something like that was his alias. He was working on one of the first asss zone wayyyyyyyyyyy back when. Zone has first destructable bases, and a flamethrower that looked amazing. Just wondering if he's still around or what his actual alias is or better yet if anyone has the LVZ for this zone?! Just goin out on a limb here.

You're RAM seems like a bottleneck there Caddy, you spent a re!@#$%^&*ed amount of money on the rig and ddr3, why not clock em up to 10000 mhz+? Forgot to mention my OS now that i think about it. I'm going to dual boot XP Pro 64 bit and Vista Ultimate 64 bit, since Vista is kind of just for show and I'm no expert in it yet, but from my experience with it it was very pretty and pretty non-functional :?

HDD: Boot Disk will be a 32gb solid state disk on sata 1.5 3 Storage drives in raid 5 500GB each SATA II ( i love how cheap these are now) Gonna get a bunch of bay temperature reader LCD displays and !@#$%^&* too, as well as ya know burners and all that jazz.

LoL xterr did youeven look at the screenshots? The shipset gfx are new. If you mean settings they are reverting to older style.

Whats your budget. Give me a number and I can look while I'm bored at work lol. EDIT: First I wouldnt suggest buying it from bestbuy or normal retail. They overprice PC components. Use newegg.com and it will just be shipped to you within 3 days for next to nothing. Another Edit: Make sure your PC has a PCIe x16 slot. If your PC is older you may not have it, maybe just PCI. Also you may have an AGP slot.

Really just get the best you can afford. Fish around on newegg.com but if you have a more descriptive idea of what you want in the video card I can help ya out.

Hooking HDMI up to a d-sub you'll just be in standard VGA you'll lose all the quality and it will be far from HD. I think his whole point was he wanted it in HD.
