What exactly did the guy do? If a firewall is running on your computer now then you proabably need to disable it while you play, or go to its settings and put continuum on the trusted programs list or whatever its called on your firewall.

Thats probably not very good for your monitor. Anyway, go to view>advanced options and check off "show default resolutions."

Go to advanced options and toggle avoid page flipping. Play around with more advanced options if that doesnt fix it. Also make sure you have updated drivers and stuff.

If you mean 2 of your routers in your trace have a 98.9% packetloss, then call your ISP and tell them the problem. Ask them to trace your computer from their computer and they will do something about it from there.

I believe the problem lies in that because of the extensive graphics and LVZ, there may be too big of a delay when your computer loads everything onto the screen. Try entering while minimized, or lower your screen resolution. If that doesnt help, update your DirectX and/or graphics drivers.

I think that happens if a file gets uploaded to the zone while you download.

One of the most common problems people come to the tech support forum with is "whatever name i chose it says its taken". And there are probably even more people who have that problem when they first download continuum and just forget about it and go back to playing cs or whatever. Something should be done to make it a little more clear in the profile window what profile name is and what player name is. Also, it would be good if the 'name taken' error message had a box in it to chose a new name. That way, newbs wouldnt just go back to the profile screen, change the profile name, and try again.

There are 2 boxes: Profile name and Player name. Make sure you're typing your alias into the Player name box.

I used to have that problem. I dont exactly remember how I fixed it, but here are some things to try: Some pop-up blockers interfere with javascript (javascript is whats used to spawn pop-ups on websites). If you have a pop-up blocker, close it and see if that fixes it. If closing it fixes the problem, then look around in the pop-up blockers settings and see if there is anything related to blocking javascipt. If that doesnt fix the problem, in your browser go to tools>options and look around for any java settings and play around with them. If that still doesnt work, get a real web browser ->www.mozilla.org
