  1. Just going back to the original post I see no reason to merge forums with inf/cr. People in SS very rarely talk about these games, let alone actually playing them (there's just no publicity). The communities most likely have major differences, I can only imagine more power struggles and a greater concentration of trolls. Merging games, not going to happen. Each game has a purpose and attempting to port everything to SS will just cripple the gameplay. As grav already pointed out inf has much higher resolution rotations, something that is essential for infantry games that require precise aiming and making large vehicles have smooth rotation animations. There's also a lot more features in the inf client, shops, class chooser, inventory built in (and I saw all that in just one zone, other zones may have even more features I haven't seen). No need for tedious LVZ coding or chat spam. I haven't heard of the LUA scripting before, I assume they hacked this into the server binary. !@#$%^&*uming it has half decent capabilities it would make the free infantry movement more desirable (developers point of view) than sony's stock server/client. From a players point of view you would probably just be grateful for what you can get.
  2. I thought this said "supermarket breakout" Anyway, I would have done the same thing with the zones on the paddle, except maybe taken the paddle speed into account too, so if the paddle was moving to the right when the ball hit, then it would add some more "rightwards" speed to it.
  3. Newcomers can probably understand hightech weaponary better than some slightly different monster mutations. Plus such weaponary may provide the best eye candy.
  4. Will you still need that launcher program?
  5. How come this thread got moved, but the one right below it in general (or should I say "central") is Van Buren tech demo. The "Team Tracker Program" also looks like it got moved from general to general, there's a "moved link" half way down the page. Also, downgrade (I'm only VIP now ).
  6. No don't put the chatbg.bm2 inside a lvz file. Just place the bm2 in the server folder and add chatbg.bm2 to the [Misc] LevelFiles setting in server.cfg.
  7. Fallout.
  8. What jabjabjab is referring to is the custom background image zones can display in the alt-tab chat. It is indeed called chatbg.bm2. Since alt-tab chat is part of the frontend and not part of the game, it is necessary to include it outside of any lvz files, for example you would set your LevelFiles setting to chatbg.bm2 not somelvzcontainingchatbg.lvz. Also it must be a bmp file with the .bm2 extension.

    Scores

    Something like this? http://sshyperspace.net/scores/index.php?p...29&period=0
  10. Wow yahoo video is lame you can't watch it a second time, the play button grays out.
  11. I've renamed the movie folders on several EA games so I don't have to watch all the start up movies.
  12. I don't have 6gb, but isn't that the space needed for the full version?
  13. Demo, hmm. Might try this later, 1.2gb download, wonder how much disk space it needs.
  14. I just noticed some of the links are pointing to http://host-tracker.com/ and not to the actual stats page.
  15. They might just assign him a grade that he was predicted to get based on past performance.
  16. Is Next any good?
  17. After watching the "dumb americans" video anyone saying they didn't know about the snes/playstation thing also looks dumb.
  18. Here's a similar video:
  19. First Mill, not sure what you're going on about didn't see Synook ask a question where this could be the answer. Second if you're creating the 10x4 spritesheet you need to rotate 9 degrees per frame not 10.
  20. Don't worry we'll keep your true iden!@#$%^&*y a secret.
  21. Supposedly if the box has been opened... but if you just ask them nicely I'm sure they'll take it back.
  22. I don't see any point in bringing those threads back, especially if you can't even remember what was there. If you can go and start a new thread.
  23. Just go, it could look good on your resume.
  24. Agreed.
  25. I think he's talking about real time weapon change -waits for sighs to die down- Looks like he wants to toggle between different weapons without changing ship, without leaving the game (going to a loadout menu). Would be useful in infantry zones where you want to change weapon when you run out of ammo (why reload when you can pull out a sidearm and finish them off?). Also allows for more weapons per-ship (different strengths and projectile speeds).
