  1. Aight, I getcha. I was !@#$%^&*uming it was that thought process, but wanted to clarify. I guess.. "And a lot of these conservatives are also against homosexuality. Well who has fewer abortions than homosexuals? You'd think these people would be natural allies." Would be a more suitable quote? lol
  2. Carlin always leans towards more liberal, but he is realistic when he speaks. At times, that is exactly what it feels like. But your comment in general, I don't understand it. Without going into a hardcore arguement, care to explain?
  3. I honestly could care less about who views what as what. The simple fact that they are denied tax breaks and what not is infringing on their rights. Ding Ding, that is one solid reason, but not the only. Sure it is an incentive for that, but a good part of marriages have nothing to do with children at all. So why should gays be excluded. Lol, a compromise would be making homosexual marriage in a church illegal, but allowing them the benefits they seek from their "Commitment ceremonies." As for abortion.. Don't slam me with a major topic right after all that :-p On a lighter note, the following quote has been seemingly true on many occasions. "Conservatives are all in favor of the unborn. They would do anything for the unborn. But once you're born, you're on your own. Conservatives are obsessed with the fetus, from conception to nine months. After that they don't wanna know about you, they don't wanna hear from you. No nothing. No neo-natal care, no daycare, no Head Start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no wellfare, no nothing. If you're pre-born, you're fine. If you're pre-school you're -*BAD WORD*-ed. Conservatives don't give a -*BAD WORD*- about you until you reach military age. Then they think you're just fine, just what they've been looking for. Conservatives want live babies so they can raise them to be dead soldiers." -George Carlin
  4. Our people are our decision makers. K..sry, go ahead
  5. So anyways, forgetting about his post.
  6. I just asked a simple question. I respect your views though I believe them flawed. Neither of us will convert the other, and I understand this. You are with-holding certificates that give rights. I just see no logical way around it. There will always be some part of religion that is for or against something, that is why it should be excluded. If the cir-*BAD WORD*-stance was marriage under god, I would see something wrong with it. You cannot be an active murderer and expect equal rights and a loving home in the afterlife. If you exclude God from your vow of love, then no religious aspect should be involved what so ever.
  7. I understand that fully, But that blank piece of paper gets value when it is legally slapped with a coat of ink, pressed and acknowledged by the government when marriage takes place. 20%+ of the United States population isn't a force to change from? We aren't talking about 5 people on southside, holding signs that say "Legalize Crack." We are talking about a quarter (or more) of the country who realize the injustice and that are for the rights of others. You have made these long analogies, metaphors, stories, jokes.. whatever they so happen to be. But all you are doing is making a long drawn out speech about how, if you aren't part of xxx religion, you can't enjoy the same luxories. Utter BS, no matter what mask you put on it. The ONLY way that wouldn't be bull is if these religious factions themselves took money from their own pocket so that couples could have those benefits. They don't, so guess what. Until we give homosexual couples the same perks for their 'fake' marriage, they can't view that blank paper as having value. Do you take them as complete idiots? Everyone else is walking around with tickets to a concert, and they are trying to get in with paper. They desearve the real deal, not a write off.
  8. Normally the arguement would be valid, but we aren't talking about blank paper entirely. When this blank piece of paper is handed to a couple, it immediately gets legal value due to the ability for larger medical capabilities, joint ownership.. So on and so on. The homosexual community is be getting "shafted" of equal rights.
  9. *Chuckle* "I r teh l33tzors, i pwnage joo" I say take 'under god' out of the pledge because people are being punished for not saying it. I believe in equality amoung people with whatever sexual preferance. COMMUNISM, RAWR, OH NO I AM ONE SICK INDIVIDUAL
  10. Rofl, and by not giving it, you are telling every religious group that sees it as ok to no longer continue with their own beliefs. That had to be the worst arguement I have seen all week. I won't tell you what you cannot do because of my own beliefs and you do the same for me? Is there a problem. THAT'S CALLED PUSHING YOUR RELIGION. I don't understand what is so difficult to comprehend about the issue.
  11. *chuckle* Have you ever been in a fight. When you punch someone and he punches back, does the battle end? Violence begets violence. I am wrong because I decided that killing in any way is unacceptable. Oh no. You wins 3453:0 Good Job.
  12. Agreed, but to tell someone else they shouldn't do it because of the things you believe in? This is a hard question to deal with, because we all believe we know whats best for another. What happened to "Only God can judge me." If I cut up your statement to exclude your religious thoughts on the matter. You have the same social understanding that I do. I exclude religion in my overall belief because others don't believe in the same religious factors as myself, it certainly is a "walk in my shoes" type of deal. Thanks for posting your genuine opinion.

Maybe my words are too hastily typed, but thats the opinion I am trying to get across. These things happen, although none always make a world breaking story.. They happen everyday. It has something to do with older generations. I simply asked everyone on my Buddy list whether or not they would force a child to say it correctly. My younger peers were against it, and many of the people I talk to above 30 are for it. Surely some exceptions were made in certain cases (foreign exchange and what not.) But I concluded that school should evolve with time, and thoughts of that time. Some might feel that it is for educational purposes alone, so children can deal with it. If school were more comfortable, they would want to be there, and wanting to be there allows more knowledge to be attained.

*shrug* Looks valid to me, and at least the ideas are supported well instead of just saying "Because it's supposed to be like that." My main issue deals with that of children who have to say those 2 little words in order to escape consequence.. If they don't (And it has been my experience to watch episodes of such.), they are kept standing until it is said properly. Whether it is a teacher mistranslation or a general problem, it should not be done. One solution is to talk to teachers about it. But as my past experiences included a wide variety of such happenings with various educational icons, the problem seems deeply rooted. Just as those against my solution here, they don't believe it to be of importance. Another solution is to rid the words all together. Kids are no longer pressured into saying it. I am having a difficult time understanding why one solution is better than another. Just two different ways of getting a correct result. Apparently one is communistic and what not though. Meh

Not every religion believes in a god. So..uhh.. What are you talking about. Take out christian and my arguement still holds.
  16. Alrighty, you are all up for straight people and dislike the recognition of homosexual for no reason other than a "feeling." My bad, you aren't bigots? You are all en!@#$%^&*led to your own opinion, but when you have no ground to stand on, nothing to hold onto in order to help you get your opinion across. That tells me that your opinion is stupid. "Just because" will never be a valid arguement; and that is all I recieved here. So until you tell me why it is so wrong to you. Personal reason why this small injustice should not be allowed, don't attempt to flame me. Remember, freedom of religious choice, so we can't be resorting back to the bible.

Realism. If It's a silly opinion or thought, I will call it. Because I choose to type out "idiot" instead of just thinking it, it makes me bad? I should bring that up whenever any discussion is raised. "Well you know what's worse.." But we weren't talking about that, so it doesn't matter. Don't justify wrong doings by citing similar worse happenings. Two words, agreed. So why are they required? In a country with religious freedom, why in -*BAD WORD*- must children say it or risk consequence.Religion is important to those who need it. I am all about faith. But they will discover it on personal time. If schools refuse to teach subjects of religion, then it should be taken completely off the venue. Are these thoughts so outrageous? Agreed
  18. It all comes to homosexuality in the end. Whether you agree or disagree. They want a piece of paper. GIVE IT TO THEM. Again I ask, what personal stake is it of yours if Jimmy and Johnny want to be wed. Legally binding weddings take place constantly out of the sight of "God". Difference? None. You can relate gay rights to black rights in a simple way. It is my honest opinion, that often things are analyzed too deeply and the founding logic is lost along the way. Will the event turn heads and make possible chaos if it were to be allowed. Yes. But these are signs of progress. A good majority of people outside blacks themselves wanted to never see them with equal rights. We were big boys, we got passed it (for the most part.) We saw it as wrong and fixed it. It didn't take a speech, a person or a march to convince us, we knew already. Half of us know this is wrong, we are just waiting for the other half to catch up. So until then, Bigots.

I don't remember choosing my country of birth. I'll be sure to get it right next time around. Obviously I don't have the means to leave, or I would have long ago for England.Christian followers and slave owners at the same time. The country was meant well, but as long as we do something right.. We can do something wrong. Right? PATHETIC Yes, I have the problem because I discourage your views and disrupt the stability in the bubble of stupidity surrounding you. *Looks around for your contribution to the topic* I gave my views on education like you asked. Changing the pledge or removing it entirely are fictional ideals?Teaching kids about things they need to have in the real world is fictional? Teaching that homosexuality is not a crime, but they are equal people who desearve equal rights is somehow impossible? Just what are you attempting to imply. Where have ya been mate? Kids are getting in trouble left and right for not saying the "pledge of obedience" correctly or entirely. Yes, there is a choice. But when you make it, you are outcasted. I would rather have no choice at all. At least then, you know your boundaries. I am leaving as soon as possible, no worries Moral obligation to family comes first though... Or do conservatives just toss that aside. "I'll just chill here, finishing up this report; and when a customer stops by, I'll tell him to -*BAD WORD*- off." Normally I would agree, but sticking with my original arguement; the criteria that is taught throughout basic public schooling is repeated. Instead of repe!@#$%^&*ion, why not take the biggest social scene and make something of it. The few courses available to highschool students include basic debate, psychology and philosophy. Those will teach you certain things you need to know in life. Why include some and exclude others.
  20. What personal stake do you have in gay marriage?None? Then what's the problem. Bigot Anal cavity is where it is accessed the easiest. Did you just want to hear yourself speak? It was obvious he knew what and where it was.
  21. Sounds like he implied that US is the superior country in that particular situation. I don't remember standing and fighting on 9/12 though. I distinctly remember protesting any retaliation.

Totally understood, I see how I desearved to be attacked for my "egoism."Stfu Religious Freedom, which is half-!@#$%^&*ed anyways. I cannot go through one day without hearing something about Christianity or god. The "Founding Fathers" had alot of bad ideals. (Slavery, Ding Ding) They were pathetic rebels who didn't know what they were doing. Only through trial and error did they finally get somewhere. 200 years later. It's time to scratch the words from the pledge and get Christian idealism away from public settings. It won't hurt removing it, only hurts when it stays. So why is it there. "It's only a few who disagree with it." So let's continue to shove things into their throat. That helps.

Um, kI guess. No, Networking will still hold the #1 position. You don't learn to network in school, you learn to bend knee when someone walks by. So you would rather have them learning the same material 3 years in a row rather than talking about the essential things in life on a large scale? Why can't you take 45 minutes out of your day and answer questions about racism or sexuality. These things are "forbidden" in many places. And then you wonder why the amount of bigots and social zombies increases. Yea, I appologize that I don't participate in the bigger threads where you post mainly. I can understand your inability to comprehend the real problems in life. Children are suspended from school activities because they choose not to pledge to the flag "under god". I can see how that has no religious influence. MY BAD
  24. People are in this little rut where it's believed that everything needs changed and beefed up so they can feel safe. ---> US Airlines <--- At one point in time, I enjoyed flying. No longer though. Not out of fear, but from annoyance. I am more likely to be run over by a drunk driver than to be on an airplane being hijacked by a terrorist. This is a risk I take, but the US found it necessary to use billions and revamp the system. Waste of money.

I can't personally answer your poll question as it is too vague for my standards... What time span are we supposed to be measuring the improvement. 4 years? 8? I have always been a full supporter of Unschooling. I favor art and personal choice over blunt knowledge. Many of those unschooled have vast amounts of general logic compared to the ordinary graduates I have seen of late. I don't believe public schools cover enough of life essentials, as it does hypothetical nonsense in order to let you understand how 2+2=4. (Random figure) I would !@#$%^&*sume 3/4 of elementary children at the moment have ill feelings towards homosexuality and racism. (As witnessed earlier in the week when I saw 4 boys playing "beat the muslim") These are subjects very few schools cover and which need to. Knock off all the garbage about religion being intertwined with state so that we may fight these problems head on.
