I'll start another topic in this forum about creating a module... let's get you setup and i'll make it the wiki plugin tutorial.
-
if compressed size = uncompressed size it means that compression is not used, so it might be the second one (zlib.DecompressData)

We definately want your (and anyone elses) help: http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/Discretion#Contribute

Discretion is a SubSpace client designed in a modular way that hopes to offer more features and security than the current client Continuum. It is developed on Windows, although it works on Linux and Mac (you may have to compile it). There is a plethora of information about Discretion on the ASSS wiki: http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/Discretion There is also an amazing module development tutorial for anyone who wants to help program: http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/Discr...Module_Tutorial If you just want to download and try it, proceed to the Sourceforge download page: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=188579 There is an old site up at http://rshl.org/bak/client.php.

you want to run the class with "public static void main(String[] args)" in it, in this case, chatnet also make sure the ip / port / name / pw are correct in zonemain.java void connectToHS() { String address = "65.111.166.54"; int port = 8500; String name = (Casino.IS_LOW ? "FriendlyLow" : "FriendlyBaK"); String p!@#$%^&* = ""; and make sure hs allows chatnet connections by trying to connect on a normal chatnet client.

Are there any client-side bots available for download?
Bak replied to 2d spaceship gamer's topic in General Discussion
there are a few such as MervBot, but you need VIP access at least to get into any continuum-only zone. The other option is modifying a chatnet client to become a chatnet bot, which is what I did in my casino chatnet bots for hyperspace (go to hyperspace forum to download that but that only works in ASSS zones that allow chatnet). The encryption of continuum is secret, so you won't be able to get into a zone without being put on (at least) vip.txt. -
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/bak2007/splash_logo.jpg It's a zone like no other, using cutting edge ASSS features with stunning LVZ graphics all packed with fun settings and great gameplay. The public play consists of two teams competing in a round based combat where the rounds end when an entire team is eliminated. Don't suicide into the enemy's line of fire as you won't respawn for 60 seconds or until the round is over. Work with your team to aquire and capture the enemy flag while preventing them from doing the same. Stats are tracked and reported after each game, which lasts about 20:00. The map is then changed and the carnage begins all over again. There are currently four maps in the rotation with more on the way. It takes about 3-5 shots to eliminate another player, or a well-placed paint grenade. But it's not as easy as picking the best gun and firing! You must gather a paintball gun from the map, pick up ammo and co2 along with barrels and hoppers. Start with a PGP and pick up weapons like a Stingray or the feared Automag. If you run out of ammo or co2, you will not be able to shoot your enemy! The zone is done in ASSS and was carefully crafted with stability in mind. The current uptime is 18 days, and it's been 18 days since SSCT hosted us. We're on SSC so all your chats will work. This is truely a team based zone, where teamwork, not solo performance determines the winner. Bring a friend and come check out SSCT Paintball (incidently you also need an opponent if you want to get in)! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/bak2007/ppss.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/bak2007/hud.png

duplicate packets are not ignored when calculating packetloss, so that by selectively dropping and repeating incoming packets you can ignore a portion of (weapons) packets without getting spectated for packetloss.

you're never going to get a team of professionals to invest time and energy unless they're getting paid. And there are cheats for Continuum.

if using the magic wand to make regions, if i'm on the left half of the tile it works ok, otherwise (if i'm on the right half) it fills the tile to the right of the tile i'm actually clicking on.
-
So the correct way to draw regions is to create a selection, edit elvl attributes, regions, create reg.ion from selection, or is there another way? Nice work guys!

well, start by finding a single average or experienced c/c++ programmer with time to help out.

snrrrrubspace is old, unfinished, and unsupported. You can run continuum on a patched version of Wine. Here's the wiki page about how to work it: http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/Runni...nuum_under_Wine be sure you read the note at the bottom about ubantu: edit: !@#$%^&* you polix!

I woudln't call it instantiating... more of an implict cast... but who cares.
-
cool, can't wait to copyright it and sue you for distributing... ho ho ho

I liked how they allowed VIE clients in so i could bring a bot in to tell me where all the flags were or move all the flags from a base on top of another player so everyone would acuse him of cheating. Also, basing the ball was fun, since you could hold off an entire team by yourself. I also liked how everyone sucked at dueling so I could beat anyone. Also, it seemed like they always left a way to get outside the map in so that you could get there and they'd warp you back to the middle.
-
That sounds good
-
sounds good. The in_game is actually run by a series of command line arguments like " " so the front end can be coded in any language or shortcuts made. if you want to help out we have a form at http://forum.sscontinuum.com/index.php?showforum=91 and would love to have more people helping.

You can't delete a file using ofstream. You need to use a system call. You can, however, clear a file's contents: // clear textfile.txt's contents ofstream fout("textfile.txt"); if (fout.fail()) { // error } else fout.close(); As for outputting a String to a file, Drake was correct: String p_bounty = "Witchie NL"; ofstream file("textfile.txt", ios::app); if (!file.fail()) { file << "blabla:" << p_bounty.msg << endl; file.close(); }

Things like punkbuster and such rely on a closed source design and constant updates which make diss!@#$%^&*embling the program usually not worth it since by the time you get anywhere a new version is out. Internally, they do things like mask memory, so that you'll need to change two memory location simultanously in order to go undetected (this can be extended easily to three or four or more). Finding these locations is harder, since neither is exactly equal to your health, and the mask is probably random; changing the wrong one can be easily detected. Gameguard installs itself with the OS, so that it overrides system calls commonly used to enter predefined input (macros, pretty much). They do other things, like watch for a list of known cheating programs and packet sniffers. They prevent debuggers from attaching to the process (much like continuum). They check hashes of executables and resource files. All of these things can be worked around, but it will usually take a while, and if the updates are frequent enough, it's difficult to get a cheat working before the program gets updated. All of the programs have to get updated, or cheats will eventually occur.
