  1. So we can't critisize world leaders except terrorists? This leaves the definition of a terrorist in the hands of the moderator; lots of people would consider Bush a terrorist for what he's doing in the Middle East. This is one of the beuties of free speech: say what you want without a subjective party that can censor you. If people use names they'd use in "elementary school", then their argument will sound like it's coming from someone in elementary school. Same goes for businesses. Same goes for wild consipricy theories or libel. No one will believe you and their opinion of you, and whatever you may later say, will be demolished. This is deterrence enough. For example if our friend spin posted something about gas stations running out of fuel across england, we'd be less likely to believe him, even though it may be true. I can see why you'd not want to discuss religion, but such arguments, when they don't involve politics, are very dry and I doubt we need a rule to limit them.
  2. bush is a !@#$%^&*, he lost any respect he gets from being the president when he invaded iraq because of "weapons of m!@#$%^&* destruction". Unless you meant repsect him because if you don't men in dark suits will drag you off and hold you in "Club Gitmo" indefinately without charging you with anything (I don't think it's gotten that bad, yet). And Aileron, why are you censoring the political forum? Those pictures were meant as satire; anyone who doesn't see that shouldn't be discussing politics. Anyways, they diluted his argument about the ban. You're not going to swing the moderates by discussing politics on political forums. People who come here are pretty solid in their views; you're not going to "convert" someone who isn't so solid about their views unless you discuss it with them. Given that, the zone owners are still free to do what they want. MG's already lost one player because of their policy, and if it happens to others it will make a dent in their population.
  3. I must have thought you were comparing testtube to hitler because this was hitler's vision for Germany, which parallels hitler to testtube and metal gear to Nazi Germany. And why the !@#$%^&* are you bringing Bush into this when trying to dispute a ban? There's a reason testtube can ban you: he pays for the server. If the Metal Gear community paid for the server they might have a voice in what rights are given to them or who is in authority, but they don't. The reason you have rights in america is that earlier generations of americans gave their lives for our freedoms. You have given nothing to metal gear; you have no claim to any rights there. You were banned for being annoying. How can you infer that TT is a bush supporter from that? Anyways stfu or i'll internet-ban you for a year.
  4. Shut the !@#$%^&* up spin or i'll !@#$%^&*ing netban you. This isn't america, it's a private !@#$%^&*ing server with private !@#$%^&*ing rules. The government isn't paying for MG's server and the government is not paying for TT's time to run the server. How do you even know the server is in the USA? Stop comparing TT to Hitler you ignorant !@#$%^&*. One banned you after four months of warning and the other committed genocide. You're insulting the lives of millions by doing so. These things are common sense; it's as if you've never had your rights taken away before, whether it be not being able to wear beer shirts in high school or not being able to call cops "!@#$%^&*holes" to their face without going to jail. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/bak2007/maddox.png
  5. use TMBaw, read the ini and help file included with the plugin. You could always use ASSS and just put warp regoins right on the map using an editor like !@#$%^&*.
  6. http://www.libpng.org/pub/mng/#history Update 8-30-05 Added alternate hotkeys for zooming in preferences; using the menu zoom now zooms to the center of the screen. Use of the radar will be remembered across sessions.
  7. Why isn't MNG being used instead of animated GIFs or to make simple interactive images? The only thing I can think of is that it's unsupported (both on browsers and with editors).
  8. Well the problem with having both available is that no one will pick the unfamiliar format. Imagine if you needed to download a file and you could get a .hhr, .it4, .yll, or .zip No one would research the other formats and download a compatable program for the one they deem best. It might take a few more seconds to compress, but that's well worth the time considering it will download half a second faster for one or two hundred people (!@#$%^&*uming it doesn't take any longer to uncompress). The difference isn't much for this program(because the majority of the download is already compressed .jar files), but it's significantly smaller for most types of files. Anyways, there's a newer version out on the site that fixes some layout issues Smong was having, but no new functionality.
  9. we'd never be able to adopt better formats if we don't put a little effort in. I don't like how firefox doesn't support MNG without a plugin anymore (and even with the plugin, not completely). If you're serious about making lvz, the .7z format won't hold you back.
  10. I just compressed the source for my ASSS server. 7-zip did it to 6 megs, windows zipping got it to 16 megs. 7-zip can do zip, rar, and 7z, in addition to tarbells. I'll try to get a link to 7-zip on the site though.
  11. Are you using the newest version of !@#$%^&*? If so, could you send me an email with how I can replicate this problem? Thanks. bak2007@gmail.com and try http://www.rshl.org/!@#$%^&* for the newest version.
  12. meh, then don't download it
  13. You can get 7zip from http://7-zip.org Here's some propaganda from that site, about GIMP: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/bak2007/7zip.png
  14. 7-26-05 Fixed the Apply Ez Tile occasionally not working bug 8-10-05 Fixed the region issues (again?) brought forward by Dr Brain and layout issue with the region window discussed by Smong
  15. 7-23-05 ... support for extra continuum tiles...
  16. Wormhole, that's a server side issue, as the client can already be told to go to different arenas. For example in ASSS you can message a player ?send duel and it will send them to the duel arena
  17. I disagree (of course I may be biased). !@#$%^&*'s interface is similar to that of SSME, but provides additional features which blow SSME away. Tired of switching tools in order to erase? !@#$%^&* has you covered as the eraser is just another tile in the tileset. There are also multiple colors on the grid to help you plan your level better. You can also define what a wall is (like all the edges and corners), and then draw with the wall and the program will put the right tile in for you. Or just draw with one tile, select your map, and tell the program to apply the wall to the entire map. Try doing that in SSME. There are also countless new features SSME couldn't support, because it came out before they were made / discovered. Lvz, Regions, and newly discovered tiles will move your zone into the 21st century of Subspace development. SSME: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/bak2007/ssmeSS.png !@#$%^&*: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/bak2007/!@#$%^&*SS.png Also, in the newest version of !@#$%^&* the scrolling is reasonably sped up (to the point where, unless I'm zoomed out almost all the way it looks smooth on my 2 year old laptop).
  18. Here's another map edtior that can handle any type of tile: http://rshl.org/!@#$%^&*/
  19. Update 7-25-05: fixed the extra-tile-not-erasing bug, and added a delete option for selections. I'll fix the EZ-Tile Selection thing in a day or two, not sure exactly what's causing it.
  20. ships can be any format(bmp, gif, png, jpg) and any number of colors. For rotating look at http://forums.minegoboom.com/viewtopic.php?t=3099 All you need is an image file included in a lvz file named ship1.* where * can be anything (like bm2, bmp, gif, png, jpg).
  21. Update 7-23-05: Got a new version up on http://rshl.org/!@#$%^&* I added several new features for selections including, flipping the selection, rotating (specify any angle you want, like 22.45 degrees), retiling the selection (swapping tiles), appling the EZ tileset to the selection (so that you can draw your map in one tile, then apply the EZ tileset and have it look pretty), and random fill by percent (so you can fill the selection with the current tile randomly, like 10% will make 1 in 10 tiles the current selected tile). Also added support for the extra continuum tiles, defined here. The EZ Tool is now a tile in the tileset. I added line, square, and squarefill tools too. I also got Undo/Redo working for changes in the selection, map, and lvz. Doing it for things like import lvz or regions is possible in the future, but in my opinion a waste of coding time since undoing these actions is trivial and rare. There are 100 levels of undo / redo. This version also includes many bug fixes, and uses the Cross Platform LVZ Toolkit so in theory it will work on older versions of Windows and maybe even Linux. After a few weeks, this will be the release version (to make sure any bugs I've introduced get fixed).

  23. I disagree. ASSS doesn't even need a billing server to run. Just double click a .bat file. Doesn't get much simpler than that.
  24. sscx.net/!@#$%^&*s just unzip it and double click the .bat file edit conf/global.conf to change the zone name and such
  25. no, I understood what you meant perfectly SOS
