  1. You still need to clarify that "moderators know the rules better than you" somewhere in that file...
  2. I was one of the opposing flag teams, and our team actually was almost wiped out of the base because of the thors coming so conveniently from off-map from past the hypertunnels. I don't remember whether we won or lost, but this was going on for some time, until after the flag game. There are two things I'd like to point out: Frequency messages (not own-team) are really quite odd, they don't make any noise, and blend in quite well with the other green messages of, say, killing and goal scoring and periodic messages. Thus I'd be willing to guess that people on Smiling's frequencies could not read the message. As for anything you said after that, I make no judgment. As for the fine(s) that was/were given, if a person is warned not to do something (and they can see this warning amidst all of the chaos in chat of "OMG CHEATERS",) then just about any fine is acceptable. It's not cool to go and break rules on the !@#$%^&*umption you won't lose that much of your money.
  3. I disagree about your example, Bomook. 2 Recharge upgrades would get trounced by Level 3 guns instead of Level 1. In a warbird for sure, you can take them down with four lv3 shots. Another solution is find an equation that gives you very little money for killing something a lot of bountyy lower than you but a more money for killing something with even a little more bounty. This may only be feasible if two equations are used (less than current, greater than or equal to current bounty.)
  4. It's not like you base balls though.
  5. While we're at it, any chance of fixing up the kill rewards to not be so silly? $ for killing a 1bty and $120 for killing a 53bty? Guess which one was harder to kill, and not 1.5 times as hard?
  6. Two teams, one captainship per team, everyone attaches to the captain on their team at all times. (Though in practice, a lot of people are jerks and don't attach and or detach.)
  7. I probably would do that, the plane trip, that is, and a ban sure wouldn't stop me

Ideally, if the game was changed, it should be one that requires a lot more teamwork and then depending on how long it takes to score, up the rewards or keep them the same.

Which is fine, except the goal rewards pay out too much. So it's either fix the rewards or change the game.

Actually, you CAN just not care in this matter, and like a lot of people, sometimes base it, and sometimes unbase it. This would seem to be the case for Funk as well.

The problem is the path to the goal is short. This style of balling is okay, but not when dealing with a virtual economy. If the path to the goal was longer, then goal rewards could be fixed, thus killing two birds with one stone. Heck, the goals are fairly skill-less now, it's probably enlarged the problem of one person being able to struggle through a team of five. There were a couple of ideas that flew by me yesterday, one of them being that scoring goals could increase the jackpot by some amount (Star_Wolf), thus making it advantagous to flaggers and ballers alike to have the ball scored as much as possible. Another was to have goals at the end of bases (Ed), thus pretty much eliminating the problem of unbasing a ball I described above. If one or more or those ideas were implemented, I imagine it would fix some problems or at least tune them down.
  12. Actually...my intermediate school was on a "trimester" system until recently...that was pretty odd.
  13. No, and I don't think many zones actually do use it, and instead use a fixed reward. It just makes some sense here, a small zone that usually gets no more than 30 people on at once, just not a whole lot. As for the possibility of this, it'd probably be simplest to just edit the ASSS module that calculates it, or instead have the money module just take care of how much money is given out. Apologies for my spaghetti writing.

The problem is public frequencies are often not bigger, and even more often not organized. So you can't do what you're suggesting. Besides, it's at least three times as easy to get the ball into a base (!@#$%^&*uming a certain someone isn't guarding the transwarp) than it is to get it out. Especially with base 7. All a ball-baser needs to do is go in to an empty base with the ball, but anyone who has to get it out has to fight their way in, AND fight their way out. You don't even have to do that to get flags...that's a lot of bull, if you ask me.
  15. Apparently Brain is concocting a new way to do things, so it better be well worth it. Stick in an "or else" for dramatic effect.
  16. Yes indeed, a root function would be most preferable to a parabolic function if you don't want balling to be the main focus. Although, what's wrong with it not being the main focus some of the time?

Then you just have a ball-baser waiting at the spawn point to start the vicious cycle again. What are you talking about with ballkilling safers? That's illegal already, anyway.
  18. I can do starfox obviously, but school starts this week for me >.<

Now Shrop knows I'm just kidding, but basically he's a spoiled brat who is frustrated that other people are having fun and he's not, so he wants to ruin their fun because that's how he has fun. Of course I'm kidding.

I wasn't complaining, but I did accuse him of hacking. I drew the duel since Rancor won 3-2 but was lagging unfairly. Props to Rancor for his PROFOUND logic and insults too. Also, I've seen speedhacking before, and your ping time sine wave was quite suspicious. YOU decided to make it personal, so deal. On a side note, I shoud make a duel module. Also, get the lag settings to actually work. These people should be specced after 300-400ms.

  23. And not just any money, "ez" money!
  24. Since Nerusai decided to edit the post but not to actually make one himself, I'll ask him one thing: Are you trying to say that respawning balls after a period of inactivity will really do anything at all in terms of unbasing balls?
  25. Well, that's 9PM/21GMT. Chances are then it'll be the middle of the night or early morning for you then. Whatever timezone Australia is in.
