I think you mean "if only arnk spent as much time on the greens as he did on that last post they might have actually worked right" which still doesn't make sense because greens work? if this stuff is so easy, why aren't you doing it? keep 'em coming

It may just be that reading these forums archives with you guys is more entertaining than trying to play the same mindless grind game with you guys while you try to exploit every little thing in the game. Bottom line: we need more posts like that, I can't make people look bad on my own.

Your signature being 10 times as big as your posts says a lot about how much you contribute to that. Summary of HS forum: Whines, complaints, bad not-thought-out suggestions. And then there's occasionally some productive posts that are actually thought out and worth reading. If a higher % of the posts are the latter that's a good thing. If you want to go post meaningless crap there's already a subforum for it..duh.

No. But some of the theoretical new items will be able to go on shark. If shark is "fine" why aren't people using them? Duh. I would get rid of it regardless, because it's fairly mindless play and is otherwise useless. Yes, I said it. All of this has been said before and will be said again and a lot of the things that have been "suggested" have already been planned for a long time doesn't change that I'm not touching this zone's stuff until I'm done with school

We would play 24 hours a day if we didn't have to sleep, drink, or eat. And if we didn't have to work to make money to be able to drink, eat, and have an internet connection. And if we weren't going to school and doing something productive so we would be able to put something better than McDonald's afternoon shift on our resume in the future. And if we constantly enjoyed the presence of faceless anonymous kids...

I think you're confusing "event" with "map." Man I hope you don't break a finger making an elim map (square.) Vote for base so he can update our dated tiles with copypasta and add yet another broken base as if he hasn't done enough already! If you think I'm crossing a line, then just keep in mind that I'm really saying 1. changing tiles of an existing thing is nothing special 2. recreating an event no one plays is nothing special and 3. I am just mean, you MIGHT be able to create an original quality tile/graphicset in the next 21 days and a good base as well. That said, it's up to Doc.

If nothing else, lanc is still a giant meat shield rusher that plenty of teams have used as such effectively; there's no reason to discourage that. By the way, summoner may be plainly really good and better than other FTLs, but I see the solution coming from the other side, making not having summoner be more feasible. Moving summoner to its own category or even alien tech just doesn't sit right, unless we can come up with an alternative item that is overall about as good and in the same general category of roles. Of course I'm speaking somewhat ideally-- what I'm thinking of probably will require an entirely new module. Also shield time can probably be increased but the last thing we want is to make shield time too long and allow people to ignore the enemy more easily than if they attached with full energy and no shields.

Those are indeed the main reasons lancaster doesn't have antiwarp now. Basically so they're not stuck doing ALL of the dirty work. The best teams have more than one person with antiwarp anyway (only one is a weak point, since can't AW while dead, and then solo antiwarper can't take risks or rush), this only increases the chance of that happening with serious basing. I think this will be even more interesting in a limited league setting, as well. +1 respect for Bomook vetta: Lanc used to cost $30000 and had less energy and speed than it does today.. lol. The cost is nothing I'm dead set on but I think compared to what it was for years it's fine as it is now. Either way antiwarp would be the last thing it's given. Acer, I think you're partly correct (especially about it usually being the team's fault when the lanc dies), but I don't think any serious basing team with team sizes as unlimited as they are should actually play with only one lanc, tricked out or not. A team with two lancs can play a ton more aggressively and will have a much nicer safety net. I've got a list of things I'm going to work on after school's over, so for now I'll just keep adding stuff as necessary but it won't make anything come faster..be patient.

You see though, this is the zone development ideas forum, not the Dr_Brain-and-AKD-and-D1-spend-their-limited-time-they-can-barely-if-at-all-use-on-actual-development-teach-basic-subspace-mechanics,-something-that-can-be-learned-on-own forum. Sorry, I'll put in the suggestion for that forum but I personally won't post there. The better ideas to come out of this forum are from people who have spent time to actually consider what is feasible and understand how ctm and asss operate. Sorry, it's too tiring to explain why something isn't possible -- there's some obvious real world analogy but i'm really not feeling creative right now -- so the best I can do is ignore or actively decline. That in bold was the part I was calling you out on. You don't need to dig the hole deeper, it's just irritating and increasing the probability we aren't going to take you seriously (just being honest here.)

Yeah, honestly I read that idea and then for a second I thought you said I posted this idea in November 2007 (hence asking for the link) because I did not remember saying anything remotely close.

I flag anyone talking about "bots" in this zone as people have a fundamental misunderstanding of how things work, this is 99% of the time a correct assumption, and it was here too. No offense, but in order for anything useful to come out of this forum we have to let people know when they're on entirely the wrong track.

I don't know why MY post was deleted since I was just refuting that brickwarping has to be a factor in every zone since it doesn't have to be here, and that Acer is mistaken in general in his above post.
