  2. vetta was actually correct and rootbear posted information he even admitted did not apply to this zone Needs R/G/B/W bullet graphics for everyone. I've been too lazy to do the same for bombs so far, but it makes things easier to tell apart.

    Majority of people want hundreds of thousands of dollars now, majority of staff understand that it's unsustainable and to run a zone like this the effort:reward ratios can't go off the deep end.
  7. It takes guts for Sharpflame to call someone else useless in dev. And there will always be a need for mods, and no, more than one.

    lol, it's true the bounty bonus was halved, but the bounty growth rate was pretty much doubled at the same time

Stibbymicto making the critical error of misblaming and looking like a fool in the process. But yeah, coming from this zone, the majority of suggestions have hilarious flaws with them because subconsciously or not, people are only thinking about ways to get themselves more money. The more money people have the more hilarious they got (look at some of Unix's old suggestions.) If you don't like ideas being shot down then you actually have to think them through. This ISN'T a player-run zone, and it's interesting that you thought it would be. However that doesn't mean that the drive is chaotic, all things done come down to only a few goals: the game mechanics have to be relevant (overpowered items defeat the purpose of this zone), and the game has to be sustainable (don't require resets too often, people getting most expensive items too soon also defeats the purpose of the system), and when possible make it easy for new players to jump in. Most suggestions that are randomly thrown in front of me fail at least one if not all of those goals plus have had no other thoughts put into them, so they're generally shot down. A good idea is one that addresses all of those points or can account for failing one of them a very reasonable fashion. As for ammo, it did exactly what it was supposed to do, which is shift the focus from mindless kill-streak-bonuses to actual basing. If you liked mindless killing I offer no apology for defending the system because you can find that in other zones.

    if only you weren't mistaken item prices right now are not at all indicitave to how good they are, there is a novelty factor !@#$%^&*igned to neater things and also so that things aren't available all at once. look at how elim has things (those items were a very very early iteration of the current set) and how the prices are there. plus obviously not all items will be allowed outside of public last i checked you weren't a sysop or anyone remotely related to the project tho? i was merely just setting the record straight since we're not using public ships (obv) and not using stock ships (less obv but still pretty obv)

    if you want to play a league where all ships are the same, go to any other zone the first legitimate league in HS will be one with customization, there is no point in doing anything else because it's already been done, HS strives to do something new. but it is absolutely NOT going to involve having your global public ships in league, everyone will be on an equal playing field in terms of resources every game everyone I have seen to this point has seemed to be clueless on what it takes to make a league: everyone concentrates on the absolutely least important part: making a map. screw that, we have maps. you need to have first of all: a well defined structure and ruleset that isn't half !@#$%^&*ed, an infrastructure that can automate it (d1 has started on this but it has a long way to go), oh then we have to go rebalance the item prices for the points system. once all of those pieces are set, then maps might start being a relevant thing to think about.

    If it wasn't clear, ammo has only persisted to this point because of bountying. That's why they go together or they stay together.

    there is nothing ambiguous about those 5 words pointing out that someone is just plainly wrong, the waste of space is actually in people repeating the same bad ideas come on buddy think these posts through before posting them also since you said something productive: no legitimate hs league will use public ships, ever. they will probably use the points system which d1 made for elim where you customize your ship but are given an exact amount of resources to work with. unfortunately we have no present feasble way of syncing itemsets that uses points with an itemset that uses public hs dollars, but as i understand it there will be a way to specify points and dollar amounts on the same item in the upcoming hscore remake which solves this problem. (and this problem is really the least of the things in the way of there from being a serious hs league)

  16. sorry your post might have been valid had it not come 2 months after mine when it was actually better without hyperrigging thread over, basing was better at that time, i wouldn't know now after dumb reset with dumber new bases hold on you can't even quote and draw a conclusion to save your life: i said flagging was better, you said i said _basing_ was better, then you said i was wrong because flagging is just basing (and runwinning), wtf? new topic: see i might have gone and fixed stuff like runwinning but 1) too busy 2) you guys really don't deserve it 3) you guys don't really want it anyway (since you all runwin and play with runwinners and don't mind when you're the ones winning) 4) better things to do (see 1) and 5) doc may or may not support it anyway which is practically the most glowing motivator ever
