If we can implement it well, I'd go for having the initial money parameter rise by a certain percentage or fixed amount per day. Of course the minimum-balance-remaining parameter would have to increase as well, so as long as that was acceptable.. but I bet it'd be too much trouble unless it eventually stopped growing. (then again, anything to inconvenience poorly written gamble bots is fine with me.)

Your jav doesn't go even close to the same speed afterburners vs no afterburners if your speed rating is +6 and your maxspeed rating is +0. That'd be like saying a ship with +0/+0 goes almost as fast a ship with +6/+0.

Also if you can't tell the difference between +6 speed and +0 afterburners (approximately +11.33, for a difference of +5.333) I have to wonder.... With my setup I have +5 speed and -2 maxspeed, so there's an even smaller difference, and I definitely go tons faster using afterburners.

Obv any legitimate league wouldn't use your public ships. You would have a subset of the public items (probably no 2M items) to choose from specifically for league based on a given number of points, not your actual cash. (If you've played elim you know how this works.)

Salvo is more or less the cause of all current deficiencies in basing, in terms of items. In general, the cause of all deficiencies is teams being way too large (org behavior 101: large groups fail.) The teams that win are the ones that work together and aren't just greedy leechers wondering why they can't push forward (because they're not really being helpful.) No matter what items ships and bases change, if the team sizes stay the same, there will be problems, and the least of them is unevenness.

HS and every other zone hopefully is taking whatever they can get.. and even so there's a very high demand for even mediocre coders because you can count on two hands the number of great coders in all of SS. Bottom line is I never "demanded pay" but I was driving home the point that we (Doc, D1, myself) do not get paid and do what we do for the betterment of the zone in our free time, and yet certain people with a loose grasp on reality act as if when they enter Hyperspace they are entering a real-life store (nevermind the part where they don't pay.) i think you're all forgetting that mods would have more time to host and would be more willing to do it if you jerks would stay in line aka if you want hosting, don't give the mods a hard time hiring an event coordinator/hosting person is equivalent to spitting on the mods and making them almost useless and an undesirable position

If you feel you could get significant profit selling greened items, go for it. They account for maybe 25% of all greens anyway, so if you're making all of the kills you're going to make more from the kills than you would on average from selling the greens by far.
