Limed for truth I was going to hold out on this thread till I saw Roxy's reply, haha. It's amazing what getting laid off and having too much time on your hands can do! I was surprised ssforum.net was still working! Haven't played in years, part of why I got a Mac I still sometimes miss the game though! No surprise that SS is on the decline though, it's been a great run though for it. I used to enjoy NetTrek too but about five years ago they completely stopped having enough people for a game - it's a critical mass issue. Hard to imagine, but it will happen to Starcraft and WC3 too someday. Wishing everyone success in life and love from Kelowna.

I have to say yes, and I have to say I'm as surprised as you are I'd say that. Here's what I realized as I read all those posts before mine: Western society is supposedly based on tolerance and acceptance and all that tried old stuff we all know and love. Let's not discuss that. Yet, how do we treat minorities in our midsts? Muslims, especially post 9-11? Not well. Don't lose sight of the fact that if the west wants to eventually win over the muslim world, there needs to be a demonstrable bridge between the two cultures. Instanbul/Byzantium/Constantinople has always been that area where the two cultures meet, it's an important region of the world. Let Turkey into the EU. Bring them around. It won't be easy. But I think the rewards if done right coudl be staggering. does this make sense to anyone else?

IF the Green Party can break through now, they'll be invited to the leader debates in the future, and boy do I look forward to that. The NDP is far too lax on the other three parties, and is too whiny and pro-hippy for my liking. the Greens actually understand that there is an economy to nurture, not just an ecosystem.

that blitz event meo made or was making back when was a good event. if it is still in the zone files, it's a good and more importantly -small- event (iirc). it's decent with even just 5 people in it, and can keep those 5 people in pub from just quitting, keeping them on another 10-15-30 minutes (whatever) in the kill-fest. and it's a good laugh too. i think the ship settings were different from public though. it was in ?go blitz.

Hi. I am someone that agrees with 13th's general view. I have no ide awho he is, but whatever. I have gained maybe 80k (proably closer to 60k) money in my time playing in HS without winning a single flag game. It took me a long time but I finally got a WB that didn't suck. But as soon as I want to go basing people that never seem to leave the zone use all these toys that I have no idea wtf to get without basing - and I can't base because these people have all the tools to do it and I can't. Whoever mentioned the "mechanics of basing" is just taking it a bit too seriously. Basing isn't hard to learn in any zone, and is the most transferable skill in subspace from zone to zone. And I take serious exception to the "more skill" comment, that's easily the most naive thing said in this thread thus far.

that wasn't my main point of my post. since you bring it up though, you should consider making it a regular monthly thing. there is no reason to have it so irregularly

i bought icefire once. i sold it 2 minutes later. it's awful.

adding more high-end items like your flag-radar will further skew the lack of balance in this zone towards those that play it too much for their own good - the squads you name come to mind. increasing the number of flags really is a cosmetic change and would not greatly effect gameplay. there are two options: 1) abolish private freqs and make a max 4 (or whatever) publics. the big squads in the zone will kick and scream if this happens, so im not holding my breath. 2) give a portion of JP to all players not in spec when game is won, based on how long they were in game since the last time they were in spec. so if someone was in the game for 50% of the flag game and the money reward ended up being 20k, they get say 2-3k. i pulled that number out of nowhere, and it would need balancing. i know i won't be bothering to play HS until the next money reset (which i heard was supposed to be a week or more ago, but whatever) because it's pointless for me to try and take on anyone in middle, let alone basing, without all the upgrades. if the point of HS is supposed to be high-stakes basing, it is failing for most of the public.

There is a reason why every zone I've ever played/staffed in has a no using *super, *ufo, *whatever, rule. This is the exact same !@#$%^&*. If you need to reward staff to do their jobs, you need to change your hiring process to hire more mature staff that will do the job asked of them. It is a free game - if you don't pay to play, you won't get payed to staff.

OP should read: "If you want to get hired as a staffmember, ?SQUADJOIN=LAG COMA" Just correcting.

don't right click on the continuum icon then "run as" it. just double left click it to run it. that is what maverick told you to do. if you keep posting the way you have been without being more descriptive you're going to end up not getting much more help.

trashtalking is part of the fun. but some peopel of course do it alot more than they have to. the reality is that in pubchat and public ?chats, it's the trashers who do the most talking on them. pubchat in most svs zones is trash, you have to be in the community more to get past that. trashing is fun, and you can do it in any zone... you don't have to be good to do it. some of the things people come up with are both funny and sometimes original. anyways, on a slightly more related note, who's going to be the resident shemale player in 17th now? if you're about to say me, i'll point out i'm not a resident there anymore
