  1. It's not really mindless or stupid. Can't really brickwarp without trying, unless your opponent is dumb. Also, it's highly effective. It's just really cheap.
  2. I still need an avatar... maybe I'll snab my GB one at some point...
  3. Did something happen at the 17th Parallel Forums? I've been looking at the list of online members at each page of this forum, and there seems to be a large amount of 17th'ers these days... Not that there's anything wrong with your presence, that is.
  4. I still need an avatar...
  5. Some days I just look at this thread as sort of an "Anything" thread rather than a (mostly) vain attempt to beat the 17th. Y'know, we sorta just post anything on our minds. Plus, it's fun to see how long it'll take before we hit page 50.
  6. MMav? What are you doing here? Get back to 17th, you fool!

    Reps

Why are we talking about bricks/shields in the REPS topic... -_- Go back to Star_Wolf's topic to argue about that, it started there Back on the topic of reps... I agree with Bomook, and anything I could say on the matter would be pointless, as it is already said
  8. If you're waiting for Spring... yet dreading Summer... I'm so confused I don't even know why I'm confused... >_< And once again, mine ^_^
  9. Doesn't rain enough here... could use some rain to clean the roof...
  10. Um... I'm trying to figure out what you meant by "raid"... it COULD mean "rained"... or possibly your city was raided by hail, but no clue...
  11. There's a hurricane south of us... and they tend to move in the north-ward direction... I hope we'll be fine...
  12. Eventually... I voted ladd. I don't remember why ^_^;
  13. BAHAHAHAHAHA! Bak- got banned... fool... Anyway, I don't know who to vote, so I think I'll leave this poll un-voted for a while...
  14. I'm not exactly trying to suck up to you Rather, you don't like me, whereas I don't mind you, and I'd like to find out why you hate me. In the mean time, I'd rather not attack you, since my best shot probably won't amount to much
  15. Once again, I'm brought back here with Ninja's old idea for sharks, except, this time it's better. The Shark shall start with only 4bty, consisting of L2 Guns and L2 Bombs It shall have 2 "Slots", sorta like Upgrade Slots, except different, since a Shark can't have upgrades. Instead, you can fill those two "Slots" with any item or special. Thus, you could buy yourself the standard shark, with 1 Repel and Prox, or go for something new, such as 2 bursts, or a thor and Xradar (really helpful for the newbs to have this). And, if we take it one step farther... we can actually use that random safe in Sector 2, coordinates N7 as probably a "Shark Shop" to buy stuff for the shark, just to make things more complicated (or cheaper, if you're crazy enough to go thru the work for that). Another suggestion was to make the shark buyable under these cir-*BAD WORD*-stances. Any suggestions or feedback on this idea would be appreciated ^_^
  16. Well, I think we should all stop attacking n00b., now, I think we don't have to all pounce on him the moment he's banned. In other news, I agree with Kirby. Seeing as this ISN'T the first time you've quit HS, you'll possibly follow like last time and return eventually. Until then, we'll miss you.
  17. You know, I have yet to vote in the poll for this topic...
  18. Whoa, whoa, whoa, before you even go that direction, don't try and pin the ban on me. I had nothing to do whatsoever with your being banned, never mind for that long. The only thing I did was jokingly say it was very, very long. I can't ban, and few mods are gonna take my word on who to ban. Plus, I'll re-!@#$%^&*ure you, as I did when I first got this job, I probably won't ever find a reason to ban you myself It IS sad that some people who speed-hack aren't even fined, but that's more because a mod is rarely around, which is why we need more mods. I'm not sure what to say about whether Jn would be banned.
  19. Just a suggestion, if HS is just a newb zone, then why did you even stay there that night? You could've switched to a different zone, played a different game, or even just went to sleep. If there was nothing else to do in HS, find something to do somewhere else, if you're just gonna break a rule
  20. You should know few people would get banned for a whole 3 months, and especially for your offense... Also, you figured it out immediately, but then thought I was right? And for crepes sake, I've never thought of myself as "smart", yet you seem to hate me because I seem to act like so... ]EDIT[ I don't think I appear smart, especially to you
  21. Asians tend to have certain... parameters... for their kids AND HA! I OWN YE, D1ST0RT!
  22. A few days ago, in pub, an interesting point concerning our F1 Help Menu was brought up. It's not an exact quote (the person in question was busy shouting his/her/its brains out, anonymity kept for their sake), but it should serve the purpose. I can !@#$%^&*ure the pub, aside from the quotes from the page itself, none of this can be further from the truth. Except for Sai, I'm not sure about that (don't kill me, Sai >_<). Also, picano has never pestered a ball baser with auto-turrets, only people who get the ball stuck. I asked him myself Since people can make such mis-read-als of the help-file, I figured I'd post a walkthrough of this page to prevent any further confusion. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/NinjaMantis/Screenshots/Rules.gif This is the page in question. The !@#$%^&*le is "Rules and Conduct". It contains both RULES, and CONDUCT. There are 3 colors in it. Orange appears in two spots. They serve as pointers, the first to point out rules and the second to point out the punishment for the last rule. Red applies to half the page. It signifies the "RULES" section of the "RULES and Conduct" page. If it's in red, don't break it if you don't wanna be punished. White (or blue on some people's screens) refers to anything else. In this case, it applies to the "CONDUCT" of the "Rules and CONDUCT" page, as well as notifying some things. Now, the Red is easily explained, as is the orange, but the white is the main question. First off, does the first line imply that everything on the page is a rule? NO! Colour coding was developed for these things to signify changes. The first line is followed by red text, which thus means that, according to colour coding, the first line only applies to red text. Therefor, if it's not listed in red, it ain't a "rule" Counterargument for the case stated above: Examine the two sentences that AREN'T quoted. "Please keep in mind that staff MAY and WILL enforce any new rules not listed above" The second part in bold explains that rules are only listed ABOVE that line, if you didn't get the colour coding. The first bold part links to the second white sentence... "Moderators reserve the right to extend or abridge these rules as they see fit." This tells you that each mod is different when it concerns rules that aren't listed, as well as a couple of the other rules (namely the language one). Finally, we have the last white sentence, the one that's in the quote. Since this page is "Rules and Conduct", and the rules are already covered, it's easy to see that this must be Conduct. Simply put, it's better conduct if you don't do cheap or lame things. It's not illegal. After all, name one zone where laming is illegal... That should be it for today, join us next time someone finds an mistake-able instance in the helpfile!
  23. Alright, here's what happened. No mod stuck them there. We don't let random people there, especially if they plan to attack bases. Smiling Demon has an odd version of Continuum. For some reason, when he's on a private freq, he occasionally spawns at the coordinates 0,0, skipping all the modules that we put otherwise. We've been having problems with this, and for some reason, Smiling has a tendency to always be in a lancaster when he does this. Each time, his teammates have been warned to not attach to him, and those who have were punished severely for "Bug Abuse". I should know, back in the old map, I attached for a bit and was fined almost immediately. In the new map, this corresponds to a little portion of the map outside of the hypertunnels. Anyway, ?warpto doesn't work on him when he's there. So, when I saw him there, I told his freq, in a freq message, to not attach to him. What happens? ALL OF THEM DO IT. Not only do they attach, but they attempt to steal the flags with thors from their precarious position. Fat Cat and I chat a bit on the staff chat. FC warps himself over to the hypertunnels, where he tries to repel all of them into the wormholes, including Smiling. Of course, due to the buggy Smiling, going in a warphole brings him to 0,0. This when I start m!@#$%^&* warpto-ing his freq back to the center, and shouting "DON'T ATTACH TO SMILING DEMON", probably throwing in a "YOU WILL BE PUNISHED FOR BUG ABUSE" here and there. At some point, picano logs in, and soon enough FC causes a server crash. I spoke with picano about it, considering it bug abuse with multiple warnings. So, I took the 5%, 10%, and 50% fines and combined them into a neat 60%, went over it with picano, and he sorta waved an "ok" on that matter, more just making sure something was done about it. There's something you should know about fining systems. They aren't designed to be generous to people with large amounts of money. Fines are designed to make people feel a loss of money so that they avoid performing an act again. For some people, even 5k is enough to make them annoyed, some it takes 10k, and others 100k. If you have a ton of money, you probably buy thorstorms and shields and such quite often, so even 100k is often too little. Hence why a percentage fine is most effective. Originally, there was talk of banning the entire freq, on account that it's bug abuse, but picano said he never liked dishing out bans, so it'd be better if we just fined them. The only reason such a large sum of cash was lost from DOODER is because he had a larger sum of cash at hand. You can't "tone down" a fine for the rich, otherwise it'd be bias towards them. If you're not going to listen to multiple orders from a mod to cease your actions, and if you don't get the picture when two of them are warping you OUT of the hypertunnels, I think you need to learn to pay a bit more attention to things.
  24. Is 64% of our reader base even a whole number?

I'll field this one. First off, prior to the "rape" comment, you made several comments with adult language and content. According to Doc's topic, that too is illegal. NiKe claims that you have been warned and fined several times in the past. Thus, the huge fine was suitable. Second, the duel. Everyone but Arnk was complaining about your spikey lag. It pretty much mimicked a speedhack (I've seen others use them). Plus, Kirby and Arnk were the ones that accused you of hacking. NiKe and boldot simply complained greatly about your lag and said that boldot should win by default. The ban was for spamming and repeatedly using adult language/content, and threatening a mod.
