Well, the 60k is a... complicated thing to explain that no one SHALL explain, mwahahahaha!

He did a negative amount, I can cite him on that.

Well, I had enough money to test one ship, and that was the Weasel. It's now a miner. At the cost of not being able to bomb, it has 8 L3 Mines with 30 shrap, and a nice Mine RoF, as well as low Mine drain. It still has its awesome health, making mining easier. Now, the bombs are pretty powerful, but the Weasel isn't unbalanced with the ability to chuck these at the enemy, though the clever one will be able to chuck the enemy into them. These mines actually are effective as mines, because a simple rep means a whole bunch of punishment for the first wave. As most ships, it's got its ups and downs versus other ships. The Warbird, Spider, and Weasel can all byp!@#$%^&* its mines. The first can just rip straight thru them. The second can flood with bullets, which can actually reduce the amount of shrap if you fire enough. It can also bullrush the mines. A weasel has enough health and recharge to stand a few mines, and a small enough size to reduce the damage. Most other ships would die, the Lanc being clearly the easiest, for it catches all the shrapnel. Oh, addition. As one of two ships that can cloak, it gets a nice advantage. Lay a nice minefield, hide in cloak, rep, and WHAM!

This isn't a topic to flame or praise alone, it's to help fix the sets. The idea about testing in another arena is a good one. Also, now I'll talk about Bricks. Now, they are short, and they last only 5 seconds. Given their reduced function, I think that they could actually be used as Items rather than One-Times, but that's your call.

Don't know you, and it's late, but it never hurts to wish someone happy birthday ^_^

Hero legand? I can only assume what you meant by that...

Kilo has a point. I'm rather ashamed of how silly this zone's pop turned from one (rather large) change. All of you just go on and go "BOO! THESE SETS SUCK!", and even dare to spam ?messages of "THESE SETS SUCK!" and various forms of it to Dr Brain. If you want the zone to not be bad, provide CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. Look at 17th, they've gone thru several changes in the pub settings, and people tend to complain. But they're civilized about it, offering solutions or explaining the problems in depth. Just saying "BRING BACK THE OLD SETS" will amount to nothing. The zone forums are here to find a way to improve the zone or explain things, not for you to just riot. I mean, Doc changed the settings to try new things out. People have been complaining that the shipsets have been the same too long, that various ships are over-powered, etc. Since Bomook, the normal settingsdude is absent, Doc probably saw it to himself to test things out. Sure, he does lack some of the knowledge of what settings would be useful, but that's what a TRIAL is for, and what CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM and SUGGESTIONS are designed for. Doc isn't trying to destroy the zone, he's trying to improve it, and you whining about isn't going to accomplish anything. I'm sick of hearing you people whining about the settings sucking when you aren't doing anything to try and make it otherwise. An argument is ineffective without support, explain your positions clearly and suggest solutions, don't just condemn the cause.

Barring the few moronic, non-helpful posts, this is technically a topic about Zone Dev, so I'm moving it there. In reply to a bit of Kilo's post concerning Terriers... They rock now! Just look at my post for more details! I think I'll make an addendum to my old post, more specifically covering the Specials. Back then, every ship could buy every special, which was nice, but it made every ship the same in that respect. Every ship could cloak its way into a base, every ship could hold a team in the base with antiwarp, every ship could stealth-hide with flags, and every ship could see these cloaked dudes. In effect, rich dudes really reduced the usefulness of stealth and cloak because everyone had XRadar. Now, you slightly changed it by reducing the Specials capacities of ships... barely. The Warbird can only use XRadar, and only the Weasel and Spider can cloak. The rest is all the same. I think it could be taken a step further by two methods. A: Make all ships have various restrictions on Specials. Like, only 2 ships can have Antiwarp, Spider can only Cloak and Stealth, etc. This reduces customizability, slightly, though. B: Make Specials follow a slot pattern, like Upgrades. Simple enough, you only have 2 special slots. So, you can Cloak and Stealth, or maybe Cloak and XRadar, and any other combination of the 2. If you want, you can further supplement this with limitting Multi and Bounce, or even Prox if yer crazy enough. Though, in this case, you might want to increase the Special slots... That's all I have to say for now ^_^

Ok, after EXTENSIVE testing of every niche, nook, cranny, and corner of the ship settings with a copious grant from another mod (all new ships I bought were sold, and all remaining cash was de-granted by a different mod), I have decided to put new input on our shipsets. Note, all ships, except when noted, can only have XRadar, Stealth, and Antiwarp for Specials, they don't have Cloak. SHIP1: I like the new speed... can't really say anything else, I only use a 20bty warbird at any point in time, so there's no problem with my current one. Oh, and 1250 energy ^_^. As for the Specials, it can only have Xradar. SHIP2: Well, it's now the perfect bomb sniper... minus quite a few things. It's a little too fast. Also, the bomb RoF is too slow for it. It's like TW's warbird, except with a slower bomb that doesn't instantly kill. Add to that the weaker bombs, and it's kinda crap. I like the no-bounce in exchange for bombspeed, though. If you just tweaked the bomb RoF a bit, it'd be awesome. It lays mines faster than it shoots, for goodness' sake! SHIP3: If this owned before, it hits as hard, if not harder, now. As the only ship capable of having L3 bombs and L3 guns, some will find it a very multi-tasking ship. It only has single barrels now, but it gets less drain from guns, though recharge is slower. Energy is ok, too. It also can cloak. Ninja would be proud of this ship if he ever played again. I think it's the only ship that's equivalent to its predecessor. SHIP4: You'd get the same effect from many other zones. In the past, HS was one of the only zones where the lev wasn't the most physically powerful bomber. Now, it joins their ranks. Infinite bounce with huge prox and WAY MORE SHRAP THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED leads to crazy bomblining and bomb-spraying. The center is a minefield, except in Soviet HS, Mine runs into you! (that sucked...) It really needs a tone down... SHIP5: I LOVE YOU! My flagship is now an uber ship. You see, now the terrier has mobility. It has mobility, as well as a higher RoF than before, combined with high recharge makes it an awesome ship. It's pathetic bombs now stay at L1, but your ability to move makes them useful, still. Keep this change. SHIP6: Levi and Weasel were slightly weak before, and now the Levi was supped up. Was the Weasel? Not as much, but still much better. It has ridiculous movement, and EMP bombs do slightly much nicer damage. It can also cloak. Bomb has no recoil! It may seem insignificant, but it's mighty useful for it. It also has a WHOPPING 3k energy with a very nice recharge. Only downside: It used to be a mining ship. Now it can't mine for fish, due to high mine energy drain, slow mining RoF, and only 10 shrap. SHIP7: Capital Ship: A ship which is big and ferries other ships. HS Lancaster: Bounty Huntress> a warbird on steroids It's big, it's powerful, but it's FAST, FIRES FAST, and OWNS. In a bad way, though. If it weren't for the even more over-powered Levs, Lancs would be the ship of choice. The old Lanc is much more... balanced. SHIP8: Double barrels. 'Nuff said. OVERALL: Keep the following as the new changes: SHIP1, SHIP5, SHIP8 Put this back to its old settings: SHIP7 Doesn't matter, either setting works: SHIP3 Needs slight tweaking: SHIP2 Needs extreme work: SHIP4, SHIP6 I'd have more suggestions, but I'm going to sleep now. That, and I figure, if these are my last days, might as well try and give my opinion.

Yay! Terrier is GOOD! Since it's my flagship, I don't have any other comments ^_^

Bah, Dav stole the newpage magic

A solution to the silence has been found, though the solution provides even more problems... sorta... <_<
-
Actually, according to ?getcm, it wasn't a lag coma, it was a full silence. And this was after she re-entered the arena. What really confused me is that I !@#$%^&*umed it was a timed silence, so I reset the timer on it, but not even that worked O_o

I suppose it is an extreme factor of convenience, typing a non-macroed ?jackpot is rather tedious. Plus, ballers will be able to see the JP this way, since normally they're too enthralled in their game to type ?jackpot
-
Um... what's wrong with ?jackpot?

One thing many vets have done that was intelligent is to always have the Lanc have a brick or two handy for this situation. Since, y'know, the Lanc isn't supposed to die, you shouldn't worry too much about losing the brick to a death. If you do, you don't have to worry about brickwarps, you're just toast in general
-
We don't know that...

Shouldn't getting groups of things mean a discount?
