Couple of things: 1) Control Scheme: Is it Left Stick move, and Right Stick shoot? or left stick move, and something like RT to shoot? 2) Armor/Energy/Shield bars: I dont like the way they deplete. The actual bars just move to the left, instead of the bars "disappearing" I'd like it more if it were like a "progress bar" type of animation. other than that, looks good.

New problem: XP setup STILL will not recognize a hard drive inserted into the computer. However, i did find out that the hard drive that crashed (the one i was using, new one) is recognizable if I have it in a hard drive enclosure. Also: Wireless radio does not turn on anymore either. Taking it in for service, because im out of ideas. Any ideas, let me know.

i need a standalone virus scan with updated definitions. The current hard drive i put into the computer wont use my wireless radio, and I dont have an ethernet connection I can use. I need a downloadable that has the virus definitions... something like HouseCall by TrendMicro, but not something that downloads stuff to install itself.

I managed to get my OLD failed hard drive to work by repairing bad sectors so im using that to get stuff off of it. How can it be my motherboard/chipset/controllers, if it boots another Hard Drive successfully. It seems like a corrupted boot record to me or a virus.

WOO! Found my Hard Drive enclosure. Put hard drive in, and all data seems fine. Going to scan it now for viruses, and see if i can just repair it instead. Only problem, Vista not letting me access my own user on the old HD... sigh got to get the password

i did that last time my hard drive failed, but having already wasted a few CDs, i need a link to a GOOD version of Ubuntu (preferably)

That is one of the options but i dont have money for a hard drive enclosure. Only got a few hundred bucks in the bank and thats going to rent and car insurance. (being unemployed sucks) if someone on here doesnt mind lending me like 20 bucks for one, i'd greatly appreciate it, but you dont have to Oh and as for the Ubuntu Live CD, the 2 ISOs i tried were corrupted and didnt boot. I don't want to waste any more CDs...LC, do you have a link to a good version?

k i didnt mean OPEN the actual hard drive, i meant open to computer to get at it. also for the UBCD, the diagnostics software on it is not up to date. third: I downloaded the updated Seagate HD tools and it passed all of the tests (Short and Long) test. If it is a boot virus, what can I use to get rid of it? M/M of HD: Seagate ST9320320AS Seagate Momentus 5400.5 320GB

reseated the hard drive, blew some compressed air in there to get rid of excess dust. Still wont boot, and the seagate diagnostic tools on the UBCD dont detect it either. as for the data, I NEED THIS HD.. i know the data is still good. its got personal documents on there that i stupidly forgot to print out/back up (tax info, etc.)

i just need to get my HD opened, and once i find a small enough screwdriver i will...

MemTest completed: Results: PASS. No Errors. As for the hard drive, None of the diagnostic programs could detect a HD. I'm going to try and re-seat it tomorrow when i wake up and get the tools to get into my laptop. ALSO: LC, did you know that the UBCD had a version of MemTest86+ on it.
