  1. Before you read: answer the poll above. If you read this story please dont answer the poll as you will skew the results. Answer before Clicking From: http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/AheadoftheCurve/top-google-yahoo-searches-2009/story?id=9216094 That page has a video to go along with it. Essentially a transcript: This has been a complicated year -- with the economy still sputtering, a new president and troops in dangerous places. Share Popular search engines release lists of the most popular searches in '09. But what did people search for on the Web? Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson and Michael Jackson. The singer burst into the headlines when he died in June and was 2009's top search term on Google, Yahoo and Bing, the three leading search engines. The year is not over yet, but they and several smaller competitors have now released their lists of the top searches of the year, and they reflect the times. People looked up dead celebrities, comfort food, and -- more than ever -- each other. Google reports that social-networking sites -- Twitter, Facebook, Tuenti (Facebook's Spanish equivalent) and others -- were all near the top of the list.

  12. That still doesnt change the fact that IF NO ONE'S ON THE SERVER THEN YOU CANT REALLY PLAY ANYWAYS. And yes I KNOW what dedicated servers are. I played on a bunch of them when Unreal Tournament came out (still do on occasion) It's just i never realized that people need to mod MW2.... i mean, what mods do you need?
  13. see this is why we dont listen to you.. you say stupid stuff.. WTF do you mean the GFX arent good? What are you? a ps3 gamer? who gives a shit if the GFX arent super amazing? its the gameplay that matters...
  14. i realize that. thats why im asking whats the problem that you dont have dedicated servers... There's a lot of old games that aren't supported on the 360 (Mostly arcade games) but they all allow you to make a private match with friends so there is really no point in having/needing dedicated servers. Even still: Matchmaking usually works fine... and those dont use dedicated servers either. It picks a host with the best connection of the people in the game.
  15. Rootbear, imagine if the server files for Subspace were never released. Now remember VIE pulling the plug on Subspace. What do you think would happen? In other words, if you remove dedicated servers from the picture, chances are there would be no Subspace today. By being able to run your own server, you have the freedom of will to configure, shape and run it to your likings. EDIT: If the developers of MW2 one day decided to finally pull the plug on their MW2 servers because the game was too old even though a small population of players continued to play the game, then playing MW2 would be no more. By allowing dedicated servers, the lifetime of the game is in the hands of the players and fans. Isn't that the same thing as going to "Private Match" and then inviting your friends? Because it sure as hell seems like it... you never need a "dedicated" server on a console....
  16. i dont think newgrounds hosts stuff like that... they only do flash animations and audio stuffs
  17. seriously who gives a shit about dedicated servers.... whats so special?
  18. Anyone ever seen Sequential pictures "Star Wars Episode III: The Lost Hope"
  19. first off... wtf? its not WW2... therefore there WILL BE no zombies... Second: TreyArch didnt make this one. infinityward did. And CoD4 did shitloads better than World at War (imo) also: Nazi Zombies was probably the only good thing (that i liked at least... the rest of the game sucked) about world at war.
  20. TURBO... STOP AND LISTEN TO WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING WE REALIZE that you want to increase population... FINE... BUT YOU NEED TO STOP WITH THE CONTACTING OF DIFFERENT COMPANIES until polix or someone else steps in.... preferably if someone can get Ghost on here. I Think you've done a great job getting the ball rolling, but your ARE NOT the person i'd (and i think other people agree with me on this point) want dealing with this. Pass it off to polix or someone else. YES i realize it means waiting... oh well. You have to wait. Like i have said MANY times before.... WE DONT KNOW YOU
  21. This right here is about the sum of the entire problem with you and your idea right now. In my opinion, is that no one around knows you, so they don't know your motive. As stated before, your motive is the fact that your own squad in your league is dying. That in itself gives us less reason to trust you. You may have been around for however many years. That doesnt mean shit. You just joined SSforum not too long ago, and your preaching to a choir that has discussed this in the past. Yes you got the ball rolling, FINE. Let the people who know what they are doing and have a lot more of an interest in the community instead of their own self-interest, get to work. Just an FYI: almost everyone else in this topic has been here for a good deal of time (on the forum, not the game). The point im trying to get at is this: WE DONT TRUST YOU. No offense or anything. It seems like you want to do something. GREAT. thats FINE. But when that risk involves the possibility of subspace getting shut down by the rights holder, we don't trust you to deal with this with finesse or something.... Wrote this when i was tired so if it doesnt make sense... sorry. Above post is entirely IMO. -rb
  22. In nowhere did i even say i was the qualified person to do that. I just said that IF someone needs to meet with them in person, I can do that since i will only be 20 minutes away. In NO post did I say i was actually going to do this. I said I COULD do it if it was needed. I have to oppose your self-vote. I don;t think that you are the person that we should trust on this. As far as I know, you just joined SSForum and within a week, you are asking us to back you on something that has been discussed for the better part of 2 years. While i do think something needs to be done, I'd rather have polix or some other community leader take care of the emails. No offense to you, but i like what you are doing, but i think you are doing it prematurely. You are contacting these companies wayyyy too prematurely to be of any good. Also: Turbo... like i said... you have not been here long enough to understand the mannerisms of all of the regular posters here. Grav usually is extremely abrasive to everyone who posts something with any part of the post being wrong. That's just his style. You have to read between the lines to get at what point he's trying to make.
  23. wait... WHAT? Would you mind posting said email? Here's the email with BDE - obviously, nothing has happened yet, I'm waiting to hear back from gamersgate about the specifics of their offer and i've edited out some of the contact info: ----------------------------- k, while i do like what you are trying to do, calling yourself a representative of the community is wrong. No offense, but i'd rather have someone like Polix or Ghost ship, or someone who is a zone owner or bang op taking care of this since they can easily pass around that information. Don't stop what you are trying to do, but imo i don't like having you do it, since, at least to me, you are an unknown. no offense or anything, this is just my view on it. EDIT: oh and no, i didn't want the address, i wanted to know what he said, which, sadly, has not substance... ALso: Turbo, while it might seem that the community is hating on you, dont worry. They are not hating on you, they are hating on the fact that you are pushing this stuff through without proper discussion.
  24. Here is a copy of 50% packetloss's experimental bounty rabbit plugin for mervbot.. It contains the source. Don't know if it helps... RabbitBot.zip
