  1. That's for Hyperspace forum
  2. Yeah... it just sounded as trying a non-staff name was "one of the things" he tried, which is why I told him specifically that it would never work with a staff member. Anyway, closed
  3. By everyone you mean those who know how to use torrents and saw a version that didn't even have special effects? I doubt it's going to have the slightest effect on box office. Those people are probably 1% of the target audience, and those who liked it will go see it anyway if they want not to see the green screen
  4. Staff members (mod+) are also not affected by this setting and will never get kicked.
  5. I've seen worse
  6. Make sure you have a valid directory server selected See the list of active directory servers: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=11952
  7. Hmmm... alright... Should we also allow marriage with animals? The idea of mutual consent might break that though... Can you marry someone who's in a vegetative state and not really able to express consent? hmm
  8. Here's an example of a set of rules for a forum RPG game thingy: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=7554 , it might inspire you
  9. It was closed from the forum view by Dav, apparently... I'll assume he clicked the icon by mistake. Closing and opening topics can be done with a single click on the folder-thingy icon to the left of the topic's name. Re-opened
  10. Apparently Fatelords doesn't exist anymore... It would appear SkyLords is similar: http://www.skylords.com/
  11. The limit of 30ms fluctuation seems a bit overkill to me as well. If someone has a ping changing from 10 to 50 ms he will be specced?
  12. It's usually the most agile and easier to fly around. It takes more experience to maneuver a ship with less thrust around corners.
  13. I changed the topic's title
  14. I'll move this to the hyperspace forum, we'll see if they have anything to add. And you can close it when you want
  15. First of all, each ship is different depending in which zone you are playing. Secondly, some zones like Hyperspace also have customizable ships, so the best build is up to you. Finally, it depends on your style of play. Some ships are better to defend, to bomb from long range, to rush, to cloak and get past enemy lines, to provide support to your team from behind, etc. It also depends on what the enemy is using at the time... My advice, try them all in different situations, and don't give up if you die a few times in a row. Some ships can take a long time to master. Any good pilot in their ship can kill just about any other ship. To answer your question simply: No My personal favorites: 17th Parallel: The mighty Lancaster with bouncy bombs and forward bomb thrust... some crazy tricks to do with this. Hyperspace: A warbird with stealth that gives no time to the enemy to see me until their debris are scattered in space. I also enjoy the Javelin for the bouncy bomb and one-hit-kill fully-shrapped cluster bombs
  16. It could have been someone on their network trying to get a bot up, but the bot was actually a virus, or something like that. In the subspace days, I'd bet there was a lot of people putting up fake bots with viruses... So it wouldn't have come from the game, but from the network directly. Today's bots are open-sourced though, and I have never heard of such a thing happening in the "modern" era of Continuum.
  17. At the top, My controls, look at the left panel
  18. Basically, the worse thing that can happen when playing Continuum is being the victim of a cheating kid who keeps blowing up your warbird, or being the victim of an angry operator who bans you from SSC. Oh, you can be called a "noob" too. I don't doubt that there was a bunch of huge holes in the ol' Subspace though. But yeah, all those "cheating" programs and techniques for Continuum cannot harm other uses in any way, except the previously-mentioned ship blowing up from time to time They can only play around with the local variables, it doesn't give them any special powers over the server.
  19. http://www.asi.ee/photos/priit_kasesalu_keskmine.jpg http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/PriitK (lol, they changed his pic a little bit... check the wiki article's pic, then check at http://www.asi.ee/team/priit_kasesalu )
  20. Perhaps try setting the color depth to 16 or 32 bits, maybe the monitor doesn't support some higher resolutions with only 8 bits. You can find the option in View -> Options -> Graphics
