I'd call your generators 'shields' ... cause that's what they do. You lose your shields, you die But I like the idea of reactor energy management... much like heat management in MechWarrior games. Or more like tonnage management, actually... You can have a bunch of huge weapons, or focus on a larger engine, or having more armor... etc. Such as system would definitely add much more variety, because items of a same category would NOT be balanced by themselves, but the overall builds should be balanced.

Agree about the (S) thing... I also wondered why they'd REMOVE a feature, unless it was giving problems, but I don't see how this one could create problems...

It adds a high tension moment, and makes the losing team realize that they have to hurry up. By the way, some kind of 'All flags dropped' warning (graphic or text) would be cool. Also, it's better to have +100 seconds with all flags dropped than to add 100 seconds to the drop delay, because during those 100 seconds with all flags dropped, the game becomes more intense not only because the losing team has to hurry, but also because the defenders get at least 1 more guy to shoot stuff. And as Brain said, it would be way too easy to quickwin in just 200 seconds...

The trace goes through, but not the connection... that can only be a blocked port somewhere between you and the server. It's probably in your router.. or you can try disabling Windows Firewall... Even if you made it an exception, it's possible it doesn't open up all the ports that are used.

HS uses regions to define where jump gates are triggered, where you can end up with FTL's, where you can use FTL's, where ammo depots are, where the safety warp thingy sends you, where the TW areas are, where flag rooms are, ... all that crap. You can probably guess the function of most regions by checking their names, properties and where they are placed in the current map. Also check the map attributes (eLVL attributes), in HS they use these to define which regions are compatible with each FTL.

So when you do ?stats, it just gives you the stats you have on your current team?

Well, if you use DCME, there's a region tool. When you select it, you get a listbox to choose from the existing regions, and you can add (left mouse button) or remove (right mouse button) areas from the selected region. HS has a lot of regions, so you may want to set all of them to invisible, except the one you work with. The region tool toolbar also gives you the possibility to add an area to a region with a magic-wand-ish tool.

^ Wouldn't be a problem if it just pm'd you your stats even if you're in the top10. It would be simpler to code, and you'd get your COMBINED stats... because if you're in one freq for half the game, and on the other freq for the rest of the time, your stats appear split for both teams. So you could be in the top 10 of one team, and out of the top 10 for the other team, and still want to see the total kills/deaths you got.
