Click the link I gave you in the last post, download the missing file (comdlg32.ocx) and read the instructions in that topic about where to place that file and what to do with it. Edit: reformated and changed a bit the content of that Required Files topic

Not really... But yeah, it was updated correctly. What the update does: DCMEupdate.exe is downloaded. DCMEupdate.exe is a self-extracting archive containing the new DCME.exe. Since DCME is still running, it renames the current DCME.exe to dcmebackup.exe <-- It's that part that didn't work Now that dcme is renamed, it executes the self-extracting archive, which unpacks DCME.exe and starts it. Meanwhile, the old DCME was shut down. The renaming probably didn't work because the exe was running, now that I think about it... on XP and before it works fine though. So what happened after... I'm guessing you double-clicked on DCMEupdate.exe, which unpacked the new DCME.exe and started it.

This is probably the only thing you ever said that made sense.

... That thing is full of !@#$%^&* lol. How much money does US give in foreign aid? How much money is put in the military? http://www.poverty.com/internationalaid.html http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/spending.htm Now, you're saying that you need to stop giving foreign aid to be able to take care of yourself? WTF. Just take some money from the military... if you didn't get involved in as many wars, GUESS WHAT, YOU'D HAVE THE MONEY. And then you're blaming the unpaid diplomats' tickets? And then you're blaming the other countries for not helping you in your war? Can't admit that your administration simply sucks? (*Note: The use of "you" refers to the leaders of the country described by the author of the quoted message...)

I read that Vista didn't allow renaming .dll's... could it also not allow to rename .exe files?
-
Hmmm... it's normal that it automatically starts the updated exe... and I can guess that weird things happen if it crashes before quitting the first one... hmm... These file access errors seem to happen pretty randomly

Integrated Development Environment. Visual Studio is an "IDE" for C++ (and other stuff), for example.

I know C very busy these days though.. if you need something in particular, just ask

I believe it will be a heavily-modified ASSS server

Friction is pretty easy to add... so it will most likely be possible to have friction. Some areas could have a different friction too, so you could have a sticky area that slows you down.

That's pretty much what DCME does... except that it starts with only a vertical tile. Which means if you want round corners and such, it won't work. I took your vertical tile, and ran the walltile generator; here's the result (note that the presence of the grid on your image forced me to redraw the first line and first column of the tile, so it may explain small differences between this and your brush):

You can get the file here
-
Could make you a program that grabs only part of the file to make a new one Maybe tomorrow... it's more than easy to do
-
Can you read any of what's in that exception log?
-
What do you mean by cutting the edges?

On which user you "download" it from doesn't change anything. You might have to try it on an administrator account though. However, you can try it first without being admin. It is possible that all the required files will already be there. Unless you are getting error messages, just try to use it normally.

Would be cool if we could get some short tutorials for different tasks. These could be included in a help file and on DCME's wiki page. Short tutorials with clear steps, and some images. If any of you people feel like making one, go ahead and post it here When we have enough, we'll probably standardize the format a bit, and put them somewhere. Some things that could be tutorial'ed or have a help page: Creating a tilesetMoving tiles around in the tileset editor Importing tiles or images in your tileset using the 'source' image Editing a tile Generating a walltile set from a tile [*]Switch/Replace tiles [*]Using walltiles Generating a walltile set from a tile (same as above) Creating walltile sets Drawing with walltiles [*]Using the selection tool [*]Using the magic wand tool [*]Grid Customize the grid Showing/Hiding the grid (duh ) [*]Using the ... tool (could be done for all tools) [*]Navigating in the map Using the hand tool Using the middle mouse button (which switches to hand temporarly) Arrows Mini-map (Full-map view; Radar view; 'GoTo' dialog when right-clicking the map) [*]Right panel What's in it? (tileset, coordinates, mini-map) Hide/Show it (and use of popup-tileset and popup-radar [*]LVZ stuff Creating a new LVZ archive Adding images Placing images on the map Selecting images on the map Moving images on the map Changing images properties Removing images from the map Removing images from a LVZ archive Animations [*]... *Note: Items in italic are expected to be modified soon, so it is not useful to create a complete guide for these yet. This would also be a good exercise to see what could be improved in the interface. There are already a couple of things I want to have eventually: "Edit tileset" and "Edit tile" functions accessible near the tileset Adding a walltile set with the generator would add it on the defined walltile sets Walltiles will have their own tab on the tileset (like LVZ) So don't bother making help files related to these things yet. Well, you can always make one with some holes, or some steps that you think that's how it should be done (realistically... for example, no diagonal walltiles for now or things like that). Simple interface changes that make things easier will be welcome. I don't know much about help files... but I'm guessing a html format would be the way to go.

Finally... There are probably some new glitches that got in there since 3.1.10... However, there are so many things fixed/improved that it's definitly worth putting this release out. Some of the updates included: Radar works in 16bits display mode Tileset initialization made much faster Walltile generator of the tileset editor improved No more crash warnings on Vista Some eLVL and LVZ properties bugs fixed "Saving map..." dialog freezing fixed Major memory leaks fixed (notice how it doesn't go eat 150MB of RAM as soon as one map is opened ) Bunch of other stuff ...and that is just off the top of my head. Didn't scroll through the SVN logs yet. Oh, the labels on the 'Size' and 'Step' tool options might be gone... for some reason, they keep disappearing every time I put them back, so it's kind of annoying... I'll try to put an update about that soon... way too tired now. I'll probably need to make it re-write the labels at runtime or something. Fixed in 3.2.1 already

Try ?ping and ?lag in Hockey/Football zone I think the problem really is Hyperspace's low limit... if your lag is averaging between 250 and 300ms, most zones will allow it.
