If you have a CD, you have 2 choices: 1: Put the cd in, boot from the cd, reformat everything, reinstall from scratch. You might want to backup your stuff before doing that though, cause that will wipe everything. 2: Put the cd in, the autorun will ask you if you what you want to do, ask it to reinstall it, and it will reinstall it. However, it won't reformat everything, so it won't be a super clean install... If you don't have a CD, you can find/copy one from someone else... Copying the cd is perfectly legal, since you (I suppose) have a legal activation key already. Make sure you know the activation key of your installation, though. If it came with your computer, there should be a sticker somewhere on your computer case with the activation key. Also, make sure the CD you have is for the same version as your activation key. A key for XP Home edition will not work for an installation of XP Professionnal. But as I said, reinstalling windows will wipe out everything you have... If you had your computer for a relatively long time, and never reformatted, it's probably a good idea. Your computer will once again run as fast as when you first used it. Don't reformat just to be able to use DCME lol But it's usually good to make a full cleanup every few years. To backup your files, just burn them on cd's/dvd's. Note that it is completly useless to backup programs. You will need to reinstall programs, cause just copying them back would not work. Anyway... If you never done that, I suggest you do this with someone who knows how to do it. Not because it,s complicated... but just to make sure you don't end up not being able to use your computer at all And if you have enough hard drive space, you could create a second par!@#$%^&*ion (the Windows installation allows you to do that easily). You would put all your data files on that par!@#$%^&*ion (movies, music, stuff), and the next time you need to reformat, you wouldn't have to touch that par!@#$%^&*ion. You could even just make a backup of your files on it. You'd only need to wipe the Windows par!@#$%^&*ion to reinstall it. You can find a lot of guides on Google to do all the things I talked about...

Could it have been infected by some virus and cleaned out by an antivirus? A fresh reinstallation of Windows would solve the problem, no need for a new computer, really. regsvr32.zip

... that's not normal... lol... go check in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder, there should be a file named regsvr32.exe if not... your Windows is just screwed up. A quick google told me that that file is included with Internet Explorer 3.0+ ... so... you should have it

I mean, the progress bar thing... did it ever popped up? Actually, it appears when you open a map too... so... I don't get it; if it didn't want to load the progress bar control, it should have crashed when opening the map in the first place... And now, does it work? Or do you always get that error? Try a couple of open / save, you should see a progress bar going from 0 to 100 %...

it does... in case of a critical error, it attempts to save all opened maps. And either way, you should have an autosave, or a .bak of the map around... and that cProgressBar control was around in the earlier version, I dunno why this comes up 'now'. Did it work before?

wireless = unstable If by "fluctuations" the server only compares high with low, then a limit of 25 is really ridiculous... And this is for pub??? seriously... HZ people, loosen up a bit. Someone who has a lag "fluctuating" between 10 and 50 should be kept in spec, but someone at a steady 200 is kept in? I don't see the logic, really.. I don't see how the fluctuations can have any effect. Anyway... if you can plug yourself directly on your router instead of being wireless, it could probably help a bit.

Several people have been getting error 75 while updating... still not sure why. The update always seems to get done in the end so... :/ I don't think the pencil ever had the step option... The line has it, though.

well, if it took them that long to realise they were drugs in there, there probably is not even 1ppm of them... If your system can't handle that, then natural selection should take you out anyway

They were talking about making a new server package some time ago... dunno if they ever did. The default directory servers are outdated :/
