  6. The downside of being a full-time hooker Sorry it was too easy
  7. *checks votes* Ok, so if SSForum was the only population of the USA, Obama would win So if Obama really wins, that means we should take over USA
  8. lol true
  9. Didn't notice that
  10. No you won't, stop lying.
  11. Yeah... I don't know who moved it there; the only thing that appears in the log is Cancer moving it from tech support to General Discussion I'll put it back in tech support, since he was a guest anyway, he couldn't have replied in other forums; and that's where it belongs imo
  12. whatever, as long I can download it
  13. year
  14. Might be good to introduce the selection tool soon too... Ctrl-drag and Shift-drag to remove/add stuff in the selection, and perhaps a quick glance at the transparent selection / draw under modes
  15. Just a few things to finish up for LVZ selection... you guys will love it It's easy to select an object that is under several others, because it always select the object that is visible at the pixel you're clicking at. So even if only a few pixels of an object are visible under a bunch of others, point on these visible objects and you can select it. It also highlights the objects you're about to select, so you don't have to do trial and error What I need to do now, is simply to make the shift / control keys work to add/remove stuff from selection, and be able to make selection rectangles. I'm planning to do like in Autocad and other CAD applications; if you make a selection rectangle from left to right, it selects only objects that are completely in the selection area; but if you select from right to left, it selects even objects that are partially in that area. Once you're used to it, that kind of feature is very helpful, especially when you have a lot of objects of different sizes
  16. I used to have Supreme Commander installed, had no problems playing Continuum. I had a cracked version though, if that matters... (!@#$%^&*uming SafeDisc is related to the anti-pirating features)
  17. If there are new zones, it's simply because some people decided to use their imagination and do nice stuff, and because the basic zones did not appeal to them. Making a zone doesn't even require any coding, it's just designing stuff. If you're so much more intelligent than other zone owners, I'm sure you could make a successful zone yourself. Have fun. By the way, the physics is about the only thing we can't change as developers... Speed and thrust are just parameters, the physics is still the same. A Ferrari obeys to the same laws of physics as a bicycle, even if it's much faster. And I agree with every post above (except the OP, of course)
  18. oh really? would you like to explain that to my alarm clock next to my bed that still reads 4:55am (its now 3:55am) because im too lazy to change it? You answered your own question
  19. I think with voice could make things easier to understand And emm, maybe upload them somewhere else with the full quality, I'll put them on youtube and/or make them downloadable on the site with full quality. By full quality I mean whatever quality the recording is. Shouldn't take any longer than upload to youtube, except that youtube will re-compress it. If you don't want to talk, on youtube we can put these captions thingies, maybe that could do the trick as well. Either way, just upload somewhere like sendspace.com, so I can put the video elsewhere as well. I'll give proper credits, of course Also, that way, all the videos would be uploaded by the same user on youtube, which makes it easier to find them all if there are a couple. I might create a DCME user on there or something
  20. Well I don't know... I'm not much of a good teacher. Put yourself in the head of a total newbie, and go from there Perhaps start with an overview of the interface Main toolbar, Tool toolbar, tileset, radar, drawing area Explain how to navigate in the drawing area with the mouse (middle mouse button to drag map; mousewheel for zoom) Explain how the tileset works, that each tile has a different property (tooltip text shows that) (maybe no need to explain in details, but make sure to make obvious that you can select block of tiles) Maybe show that you can hide the right panel and still access the tileset and radar Then maybe a simple example, importing a tileset and drawing a simple base without any fancy walltiles or switch/replace stuff I think this could make a good first introduction video, what ya'll think? Too much or not enough stuff? Make sure to use the latest beta for this though... since some toolbar buttons have been moved around and stuff. For the same reason, anything concerning LVZ's will have to wait until I'm done with the changes I'm doing now. And just a suggestion, maybe it will be better for a video if you set the grid lines darker.. I'll probably change the default grid color setting anyway. Right now it's (50,50,50), I was thinking making it (30,30,30) or something like that; it's smoother for the eyes imo Thanks for offering yourself On a side note, it would be nice to make a complete do!@#$%^&*entation, perhaps html style to go with it. But with all the ongoing modifications, it would be mostly a waste of time to do it right now. Hmm.. It would be nice to have that do!@#$%^&*entation on dcme.sscentral.com ... mmmhmmm. Like a nice interactive help That would be a nice project
  21. In North America I think it's either on the first Sunday of November, or the second, depending on places
  22. That is not the 'correct' way of fixing the problem. When you do that, chances are you won't be able to download any new maps
  23. Server appears fine to me now
