He doesn't care anymore, and who can blame him. He has real life, kids, what not have you, he has his hands occupied. And he did right, he appointed people, who went ahead and appointed dozens more people, to take care of business for him while he remains uninterrupted and can just play the game every once in a while for fun. Problem with today's admins that they're young (read: maturity level), they got no g/f, no sexlife, no life period. Having this game, where they know they're needed, where they have power, where they're someone, has a very large effect on them, as is the will to abuse. There are no tricks to being a good admin, it's very simple. Don't knob people down with your thumb. You can abuse, a little, so long nothing permanent and it's funny (to others) when you do it. When your time come, and you can't devote of your time anymore, or don't care anymore, find someone who can and fade off to the background. Or you can go on a quest to find people with creativity to keep the thing going under your guiding hand. Naturally, the pre-pubscent ones are over-caring, since it's their grounding center in life, and they fear losing it so much it borderlines in paranoia, then the big abuse start and anyone who's not content with them is smacked on the face in an instant, lest they manage to subvert control from their hands. Caring can help the game, it can also over do it, smother and make it suffocate and die.

I only thank Jim (minbari !@#$%^&*ship), Xalimar&Mike and Robert (Baudchaser). They took more !@#$%^&* than just about anyone else and more than anyone should take to get this game going. And Priit's a sloth, with !@#$%^&*load of money and is too bussy to take care of this game for real. Throwing money when you have it to give is easy. Dedicating yourself, your soul and your free time is hard. Sitting in an admit position, AFK in spec and fire *kills every often is easy as well.

Seriously, the only one who was ever cut for threatening security (and this rule was set in place by Xalimar, to protect his servers, to begin with) was CatID, perhaps Sage386 (though he byp!@#$%^&*ed that one easily, after all - russian hacker) and perhaps or or two others. All in all, there are very few people who could actually posses the willing and technical knowledge to be able to harm any of the SSC via the narrow access window which is the biller access port allocated to their zone. A little known fact, MikeTheNose is/was in all actuality (at least several some years back) a SSC NetOp. Although he dies it, of course (but back then he sang a different tune, and proofshowed his true capacity when it suited him). So, in effect and infact, he is a BanG Admin, just not an official(y listed) one. Cool, huh?

I must agree with Bargeld. Software, hardware, even an option check box somewhere in some third party application or the hardware acceleration slider in display settings, somethig has changed. Otherwise, no problem will occur. Retrace your steps in the past days between since you last played and when the problem commenced. Somewhere, you have done something or something happened.

Windows is gay...but *nix community are stupid and don't work hard to become more games-friendly. (is it too much to ask for a software that emulates/replaces DirectX 100% and an appropriate SDK so that devs may create games for *nix instead of win and we can all get rid of this crappy OS and move on to *nix?) Sigh. On a side note, I run processguard and ZoneAlarm, I have no problem telling it to allow a game to run. I have no clue what kind of crappy "protection" program this dude is running that has only one button/check box for either protect or not and if it's protected he can't play any games??? Weird !@#$%^&*... IMHO, he has very little clue in how to use it and/or their computer.

Because those zones existed before SSC Billing and mounted the SSC Billing on top of themselves. It was born out of those zones, and some popular zones joined it. The biller did not make the zones popular, the zones made the biller popular (a wanted trophey item of sorts).

On a side note, do these 'protection tools' of yours include some sort of control panels? Configureable mechanisms by which you may authorize access to the game program or exclude it from the monitoring?

I looked onto the zone but there was no one home. Neither did any of the ships function. I couldn't find a help description and ?buy was not operational. Is there any development at all? Any game going? Any players?

I'm uncertain as to how I should categorize 'sever' as...ignorant, guillible, stupid, loony, hater or fanatic? Regardless, I think it'll end with the addendum of 'sad, pittyful, creature'.
