Not to worry, it'd just be a simple regex change. This is assuming, of course, they're using regular expressions in the first place. If not, they deserve whatever hell you give them with the update. Edit: Really, do we even NEED the message? It makes sense on a grant for documentation purposes, but with ?give it seems that it's just there to be abused. Why not just remove it all together and if they really really want to send a message with it, let them use a PM.

It's cute that you're so intent on sticking to this story. Why can't you just man up and admit that you and Zimm got busted? Moreover, why am I always the asshole when I do something about one of you known trouble makers? I usually don't bother posting in these threads since 100% of the time it's just a bunch of troublemakers hoping on the " is an abusive jerk" bandwagon. But this is getting out of hand. Fun facts: -You killed Zimm three times. He shot exactly one bullet in this duration, and it was the same type of shot most players fire off in duels to let the other player know they're ready. -The person who killed you "twice" (once, in actuality) was foobarz, who was witness to this entire thing. -Your convo was a bit different from what you're claiming. You spent a good 10 minutes trying to figure out if I was there or not. Unfortunately for you, I've been ignoring you as of late and at the time I was attempting to play FF13. A quick recap for you: Mav HZ> CEIU P Mav HZ> U there? P Mav HZ> plz help me P Mav HZ> I pay u Mav HZ> CEIU Mav HZ> PLZ HELP ME Mav HZ> I JUS WANNA FEED PARA Mav HZ> SOMEONE TRADE KILLS Mav HZ> JESUS Mav HZ> CHRIST Zimm> lol Enemy goal in Base 6 Flag Room by HollowDuck (worth $133)! Jackpot +$55 Mav HZ> JESUS Zimm> lol Zimm> mav how many para kills you have? Mav HZ> like 800 Mav HZ> w00t Enemy goal in Base 1 Flag Room by everdream (worth $191)! Jackpot +$79 Mav HZ> trde kills Zimm> i need to feed my pocketbook Mav HZ> W)W Mav HZ> JUS LEMME KILL U Ceiu> Trade killing while I'm here? Are they retarded? But, even after all that, I didn't take action until this: - Zimm spent the duration avoiding foobarz to let himself be killed by you. In fact, when you and foobarz were fighting it looked like he was waiting it out to take on the winner. I removed you both when Zimm then flew directly in front of you to give you another kill without even attempting to return fire or dodge your bullets. If that isn't trade killing then we may as well remove the rule, because I have no idea what would be. Protip: If you guys are benefiting from doing next to nothing, it's probably against the rules. Don't do shady shit and you won't have to worry about being punished for something "trivial." HS already takes a lot of skill out of the core game with some of the items and settings. The speed and reward of flag games makes earning money and exp painfully easy. I don't see how or why you guys need to find janky shit to do to further yourselves in an already easy zone. If you're so bored with the normal gameplay that you need to do crap like this to be entertained, perhaps you should... you know... do something else. As for the rest of you: Are you really that bored that you need to jump onto this bandwagon? You love drama that much, maybe you should go upstairs and watch some daytime soaps with your mother. Keep that crap out of the game.

You need to work on that skill thing. I waited until almost a week after the reset to start, I'm still significantly outclassed by most everyone else as far as progression goes... and I have a very solid winning rec. Either that means I'm amazing, or you guys are terrible.

So, this is it. Barring any serious bugs that require my immediate attention, this is going to be the last update for a while as I have other projects I'd like to work on. I've completely revamped a number of things and I've rewritten the SampleBot demo as a result. I've omitted most of the explanation in the demo, as most everyone ignored it anyway. Besides, if you can't figure out what's going on from what documentation is there, you probably shouldn't be using the library anyway. As always, check the changelog for explicit details on what changed. The download is in the usual place. -C

It "failed" due to a few select players going out of their way to ruin it or otherwise do janky shit (fun fact: One of them has posted in this thread). It'll restart in a few weeks with another set of rules updates and a redraft.

You know what I hate about having a list of "rules" posted somewhere? It gives people like you some kind of justification to be an ass, and annoy the shit out of others, thinking you're protected by some arbitrary list of rules. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Here's a little newsflash for you: I don't play nice with people who stop by with the sole intention of trolling. If you want to do that, go elsewhere.

You're all equally wrong. Notepad2 ftw. Fun fact: All three projects are based on Scintilla.

What's sad is that I was even willing to give you the benefit of the doubt at first. I could go through that wall of eRage and address each pseudo-point as you attempted to make them, but I'd rather make this short and sweet: Unpacking an exe != decompiling/modifying it. When I asked you for a "tutorial" (as you so put it), I was asking you for details so I could see if your claim had any validity. Lynx already addressed pretty well (surprisingly well, actually) the issue with what you're intending on doing and even correctly assumed what you had done. To recap: After you unpack it you need to actually do something to make it readable if you only know a bit of Cpp. After you decompile it, you'll have spaghetti code which lacks most useful variable naming and is littered with gotos. Hell, even Java looks godawful once decompiled -- I can't imagine what Priitk's horrible client looks like after being run though a meat grinder like that. If you're not fluent with x86 assembly, there's a good chance you won't have any idea what is going on in the mess of C code you'll get out of any decompiling tool. If you want to take that as an attack, have at it, but understand that it's simply a fact of the matter. What you're suggesting is harder than you're wanting to think it is. -

Sigh... It annoys me that I was able to predict your response as well as I did. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm related to Miss Cleo. Basically, what you're saying is you have no clue what you're talking about and if you gave out any information it would make it abundantly clear that you've been BSing your way through this entire thread. Kudos, sir. Oh, and if you think this doesn't effect you... I suppose your reputation isn't very important to you. I suppose Brain was right when he told me not to care, but goddammit this shit annoys me. After years upon years of witnessing it, I just can't understand the reasoning behind this behavior. I mean... what's the point? In this particular case, all he did was offer a service that he was in no way able to provide. Even if you ignore the fact that every developer who read this thought it was utter horseshit (for good reason), where could he have gone with it? Was he expecting someone representing the SSC (AceFlyer, lulz!) to tell him to fuck off immediately so he could play the martyr card? Was he hoping for the entire community to suck his dick while he delayed the "release" of the code as long as possible? I just don't get it. Are there any psychologists lurking the forums that can dumb it down for me? -
I recall still taking damage even while the lanc was in safe when this was demo'd for me. Perhaps I'm remembering it wrong, but my tendency to remember shit with creeper-like accuracy suggests otherwise.

If someone could change this game for the better...

Because I've had experience doing it. When you decrypt an exe it will look different than if it were opened in the source .cpp file for example. It's a lot more literal and easy to understand/modify. I know enough C++ to not have problems doing this. That was absolutely no help. Let's try this again... What program(s) are you using to assist you in doing this? I highly doubt you're busting out notepad, opening the exe and going to town. I'm essentially asking you for a relative step-by-step for this modification process. -

Okay, this really screams bravo sierra to me. If you only know "very little C++", how can your expertise be in reverse engineering compiled code? I'd appreciate it if you could provide as much detail as possible, as you appear to know something I don't. -
It's like the stock market!

I don't get how this is a difficult concept to understand. Sharing accounts brings about a lot of issues, including but not limited to: - Refs sharing special access/permissions with players who would otherwise not have them. - Players participating in events on another players behalf (double squadding/aliasing). - Players being caught in other player's bans due to common account info. - Scams, tracking and other "trust" issues. Basically, it's a pain for league coordinators and zone management in general. Most zones I've ever played or staffed in have had very lengthy bans for all players involved when sharing is discovered due to the headaches it causes. I think the problem is a lot of players have developed a certain mentality on how things "should" work based on the fact that HS hasn't had a league or any seriously organized play before recently, so a lot of things that should have brought about the ban hammer have gone unpunished.
-
Not to mention, name sharing defeats the purpose of drafting players in the first place. Also: Unix> I'm terrible at spaceships. If I give you 50k, will you play for me in my league game? Klammy> Sure! Unix> Okay, here's pw: ...
-
Exo and Ablative make them far less efficient, which adds a degree of balance to them. I agree that the zone isn't perfect -- some items are better than others. However, the point of this vote/discussion is to remove the items which are so over the top that the only way to effectively beat them is by also using them. In a zone where the theme is customization, it kinda defeats the purpose of to make everyone have to use the same ship to be fair.
-
Well, let's try this again. Should the 3m Alien Techs be removed from league? I vote yes, as I believe it's silly to have the league winner determined more by what items a team has rather than their skill. Also: Try to keep this one on topic this time.
