  1. We all have seen that Cheese is either really bad at making bots or really good at making scam bots. Which it is we'll never know, as he'd rather verbally attack you than talk about it. So, rather than fight with a troll, I'm counter-trolling by releasing the source to a bot that does exactly what Cheese claims his does. In a nutshell: -The bot waits for someone to give it 1k or more. When someone does, it creates an account for them. -Kills/deaths are tracked (per ship) for any players with accounts. -Players can type !kills to get the current net kills since account registration. Data is persistent across executions via serialization of the map. The source is really basic, but I threw it together in about 15 minutes, so it may be a bit sloppy in some areas. You'll have to give it a username/password and compile with Java7 before it will run. But hey, that's not hard to do. So do it. Or don't. Whatever. scambot.zip
  2. I noticed a small rendering issue with your engine. It seems you're only rendering exactly what is on the screen at any given moment (which is good), but when you rotate the screen 45 degrees or so, the rendering area isn't increased to handle the corners -- you can watch objects on the corners of the screen vanish and come into view later than they should. Otherwise, nice work so far.

There's an almost finished product on my machine back home, but no it never got completed. If I remember right, I was about to restart it since it didn't quite live up to my nazi standards anyway.
  4. Jesus tap-dancing Christ man... Recently I've started seeing this irritating trend in people, primarily Americans. This trend that absolutely nothing they do is wrong or their fault. It doesn't matter what the topic or event is or how blatant their transgressions are -- it's not their fault. Someone/something made them do it, it was someone else's idea, they were abused or they have a disease. Under no circumstance can they be blamed for anything without the finger being pointed directly away from their own actions (or in this case, lack thereof). When I first read your post, I was reminded of an event in my life that happened many many years ago. One lonely night, I was surfin' the ol' interwebs, trying to occupying my time chatting it up with my ePals and what have you. I was still completely new to the whole internet thing and was still quite trusting of people. People I, clearly, shouldn't be trusting with anything short of catching a bullet with their face. Anyway, that night I was sent a link from one of my friends on ICQ. "What's this? goatse.cx? What an odd url..." *click*. "No. I... Ah... No." I was stunned. I wanted to close the browser window, but I couldn't. As the cliche goes, it was like watching a train wreck -- except much wider and significantly more traumatizing. My internet cherry had been popped in a way only rape victims can relate to. When I read your post -- really read it -- I was taken back to this time. This awful moment in my life. That feeling of intense disbelief came surging back: "This can't be real. He's trolling. Maybe Polix managed to photoshop this entire thread or that fucker D1 is up to something again. No goddamn way is this thread legit." Hell, I'm still am expecting you to follow up with a "LOL @ U GUIZE" post. I HOPE I'm about to get burned. I want nothing more than exactly that to happen at this point, as I would much prefer that to the loss of hope in humanity this thread has caused me to suffer. Now, that said... How, directly, the fuck did you come up with the idea that your lack of self control and things to occupy yourself stems from having too much testosterone? Here's an exercise for you: Hold a loaded gun to your head and don't pull the trigger. Whether or not you actually have a condition will work itself out naturally through the course of this experiment. Seriously though, just knock it off. If you have so much free time that you're able to actually jack your cock off, you need to go the fuck outside and find a new hobby. I mean, really, who has that much free time? You say you're 19? Go join a club. Bars typically have tons of random sporting leagues you can join. Sports not your thing? Get a job. Use the extra money to buy some lotion so you can stop rubbing your dick off. Already have a job? Volunteer your time to your community. You may even meet a nice girl to spend your time with. Do SOMETHING. Get some fucking self control, find a better way to use your spare time and get your shit together. Christ on a pony. Oh, and I'm sure there are people in the world who have things wired wrong internally. I get that. However, I'm finding it quite difficult to believe everyone is fucked up. You're not special -- you're just boring. Work on fixing that before you go lopping off extremities.
  5. Why do that? Unless you guys added stuff since I ragequit, there are no fields which are beneficial to your own team. That being the case, any friendly field should just be displayed in yellow to your team. And if you go with Emoflame's idea the icon will give you all the info you need regarding the field. Hell, you could go super simplistic about it and just do blue(red?)/yellow(green?) field borders and be done with it. Put the icon in all 4 corners and you can quickly identify what each field is, what the bounds are and what whether or not it's friendly. Also, the amount of code to do sides would be trivial. You know how big your size increment is, you already have the dimensions of the box. The rest is just math and object updates (see: loop).
  6. How unfortunate. Arnk is probably right in that it was a completely automated attack. Even my silly little website throws out a bunch of 404s daily because of scripted attacks targeted at systems like this. But, I suppose that's one of the downsides to using a pre-made CMS rather than writing your own. Also, "hacking" websites is lame, bragging about it is even worse and thinking it makes you cool is retarded. When are you going to grow up already?
  7. In that case do corners and sides, sides done in a way where the image can be duplicated with more image ids.

Same. I may have to do something about that.
  9. "At some point we all have to face reality. It is a cold reality and I do not like it as much as the next guy." I swear, this is straight out of FFX. The big bad wants to end the world so there's no more suffering. I suppose it's logically sound, but it's still pretty stupid. Look, I've seen enough bad jRPGs and animu to know exactly how this will end if you guys don't do something about this now (Hint: The only way to get the good end is with the emergence of four heroes/warriors of light/blue-haired teenagers with super powers and/or giant robots. Oh, and lots of level grinding). I've also a history of accurately predicting how subspace drama ends. My advice? Someone step in and forcefully hand the zone off before it's too late.
  10. (I know this is almost a necrobump, but you guys are doing it wrong...) If you want good sound, you guys are looking in the wrong areas. Studio/DJ equipment is the way to go. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/ProDJ/HeadphonesSpeakers/HDJ-1000 Want to know about what kind of sound you're going to get? Frequency response and output level are the easiest specs to make sense of. In a nutshell, these things are a portable night club.
  11. This is an amazing idea! I should have taken this same approach with my grandfather and killed him at 60 years old rather than letting him live out his life, get old and die naturally 24 years later. You, sir, are a visionary.
  12. I know. Those days were great. Now people cry when they're called fat. Lulz.
  13. With sg posting, I believe this is the perfect opportunity to share another little piece of subspace history with you jerks: http://users.cericlabs.com/cerium/random/aml9-playoffs-round2.swf lol @ passplay's "commercial" at the end.
  14. Oh yeah? Maybe if you weren't so fat...
  15. Lulz. I fully expected my comment to be deleted within hours, but I did not expect this. Now, is it really insulting when you admit and call yourself fat? Seriously? You even have a picture of food as your avatar for Christ's sake! Regardless, I thought it was hilarious. You see, the joke was that your excessive weight causes you to eat so much that your meals cost more than the $20 you'd need "weeks" to save up for. Get it? I was passive-aggressively telling you to eat less. Because you're fat. Stop being fat. Also: If you can't handle this kinda ribbing on an internet forum, how do you expect to function socially? You're going to be hard-pressed to "fit in" if this is how you respond to such a throw away one-liner. 125% of my friendships have involved some form of us ripping on each other for random shit (usually far worse and considerably funnier than the comment that's making you BAAAAAWWWW). But thanks for being all emo about it -- that made me laugh at bit. Especially considering you have no qualms against trolling myself and others with dumbass comments and insults of your own. Way to dish it out but get all butt hurt when it comes back to you.
  16. Have any of you guys stopped to think that shit like this may be why no one is jumping to help your cause?
  17. OR use Jowie's chatnet script and then any IRC client on w/e phone you are using. Let's see... two devices, a perl interpreter, an IRC client and some firewall/router configuration, or one device and a Manifold client. In the event I was no where near a computer and I decided I absolutely had to talk to you tools, I'd probably opt for suicide. But, that failing, I'd go with the Manifold route as it requires far, far less work.

  19. You're completely missing the point. This isn't a billing-wide issue; it's a zone issue (at worst). Any billing op who acts on your pissing and moaning will probably get bitch slapped and have the ban lifted immediately. The way I see it, your excessive sniveling is just going to invite more people to abuse this and, likely, harass you. You've brought up a valid point in that ?give bypasses ignore but Jesus Christ man, leave it at that. Again, this is not a billing issue. If your eFeelings are that sensitive, you should take your perma-clients and idle in another chatnet-enabled zone until the problem is fixed. Until then, shut the fuck up and stop threatening people with netbans, you tool.
  20. I'd love to see you get that one enforced. You can always idle in another zone if it bothers you so much.
  21. Advantages? Such as?
  22. Yes, and I stated that already. I also stated that these bots are doing it wrong and, thus, the developers deserve to be slapped in the face with more work. Also, I have a real problem with the command message type being used for messages which aren't commands. If this spoofing thing is a big deal (which it's really not), then it'd almost be better to add a new type which is just as transparent and not fuck with the intended usage of the existing types more than we already are.
  23. The next post is automatically wrong. Edit: BD, you realize that your value for Arnk overflows a few (hundred) times and probably gives him points, rather than taking them away. Thanks for playing, though.
  24. The better question would be something along the lines of "how aren't you seeing the difference?" If a bot is already doing it right in that it accepts money to put into a player's account and then processes commands to do stuff with it, your change will likely do nothing but, at worst, force a regex change on the part which determines the amount given. However, if the bot is (a) not using a regex and ( requiring the message along with the ?give in the current format, these changes will completely fuck the bot. From here you can refer to my first statement on the matter, then ask yourself why you needed me to be this specific for such a throw-away comment.
  25. Not really. The original give is still received as an arena message and it still needs to be parsed to determine how much money you received. All you have to do is update the regex to work with the new format you go with (if you change it at all). The message was just extra junk at the end. But thanks for playing. In any event, relying on the message with a ?give is hack at best. Typos happen and people often forget to include it. The bot then has to either give the money back or take the money and laugh at the user. Neither being a very good solution.
