The problem aint just in HS, its throughout ss, which should clue you in to the fact that theres not a whole lot HS staff can do about it. If a ship is to serve as a dep, it had to have decent defense (be it lots of energy, or cloak like mg's dep, or other means). If a ship has great defense, it woudl be unfair for it to have great offense too :/ It's not a simple thing to solve, which is why deps remain this way throughout ss for the most part. However, becuz this is HS and your buy system provides some flexibility, I think "Gar"s suggestion of making every kill in a lanc worth more money was worth considering.

By "The west" who specifically are you referring to. Because as far as colonization goes, it was mainly Europe that was involved in Africa, not the US. I know Europe is considered the West as compared to Asia, just sounds weird when comparing to Africa because Africa is as far West as Europe is.

This is gonna come out sounding liek total flame, but so be it :/ Astro you come across as being the most abnoxious and immature person here. Was gonna say your gonna wanna look at the youtube verison, then go full screen, but the resizing makes it look awful :/ I typed at the bottom so you could understand what i was showing but now its gonna be hard to follow. Basically this ball was moving on its own. At one point it went off the map (we found it by pressing f5 which specs on balls). Note that there were 10 balls on this map, that is a possible cause. This one ball was off the map, no stars in the background, and the coords above radar read _2. The _ went thru a acsii rotation including symbols such as ^&*. After a bit this ball jumped to the right, then jumped again, and again until it was on the map. Then it jumped while on the map, then started moving smoothly. It would move a significant distance, the jump back to where it started and make the move again. Was the weirdest thing. I tried to get in ship and catch it, but couldnt (tho setts allow for catching). EDIT: THIS STILL IS GOIGN ON IN SSCI SUBSAPCE DEVELOPMENT, the ball seems to be doing a long (about 5 minute) loop over and over. If you are interested in seeing it, pm myself, Cre>, aquarius, l y n x, or aceflyer (we have all seen it and can show you what we are talking about).

Yea this was ridiculous heres one vid, second one isnt upload to youtube well, but ill get it up eventually. Basically what I really like and am near buying is a dell xps 1530 with 4gb ram, 2.4 ghz processor, and 250gb drive. With a higher res screen and some other junk it totals up to like $1700. However the head of the CS department im going into suggests something different... what do you think: He suggests just getting some cheap laptop for the first year, then spending more sophmore year on a better laptop once teh computing curriculum becomes more intense.... Part of me says that makes sense, another part of me doesnt wanna buy 2 laptops in a year and half... If I'm gonna get one I feel like I should just go all in and get one that will last long from right now...

Well I mean hears my thoughts and concerns atm... 1) I am very confident with my XP skills 2) could vista affect laptop battery life? 3) After June when microsoft no longer supports XP, will it become increasingly hard to be an XP user in the next 2-3 years 4) How simple is it to downgrade to XP if I do get a laptop with vista 5) If Windows 7 is really gonna role around in 2009-2010, why adjust to a whole new OS for this 1-2 years

As far as I'm reading, norton 2008 and Zone alarm seem to be considered the best two suites out there... Threatfire also seems like a good free tool to get in addition. Another thing that bugs me is that, on my non-ss PC i really like spyware doctor, but ss cant run while spyware doctor is on (and you cant just turn it off, you gotta log off totally then log back in). Anyone know a way to get around the spyware doctor-continumm problem?

I've seen this a lot since the election started, funny thign is that prior to the election, most rightwing conservatives disliked McCain. 8 months ago McCains reputation was that of a very liberal republican. Only recently has he had to appeal to the far right-wingers in order to gain their support. But once he has the presidency, do you think he would remain that way? The whole right wing thing is just a temporary act he has been putting on to get the nomination. If you wanna see how he will act in a presidency, look at his long term track record, which is NOT far right-wing.

However maybe I used bad wording when I said local war. Like you already said, there could be some consequences from war with Russia. My point was, we are not the only source of violence over there, and theres plenty of stuff that has gone there over the years that I'm sure we don't even know about. The combination of what ail said (the minimal amount of DU our weapons have) and the fact that we havn't been there long and they are in constant war without us, puts this discussion to rest I think.
