I think the old site could have used some organization, so you did some help there. Altho cosmetically, there are some things here that make me still prefer the old site. On the note of jumping the gun and so forth, it really has become a pattern. He announces some much heralded thing, then receieves criticism, then almost every post of his is spent backing away from the initial posts claims or so fourth. Its really not good :/

Uhh the government also uses a whole ton of *nix. Anyway I didn't just say that the stuff would be held on the internet, but it did say it wouldnt be limited to a SINGLE physical PC. That could mean oriented towards home and business networks also without using the internet for storage.

Maybe you should make a new topic bout the contraception think cuz that can definitely be a debate in itself. I think the things you are talking about are morning-after pills and such. Those pills stop the egg from implanting itself in the lining of the uterus, AFTER the sperm and egg have met... so technically the fertilization of the egg has taken place... so it kinda could be considered abortion... I'm not saying that > I < consider it abortion, just pointing out the argument for it.

Uhmm... trying to avoid looking racist isnt being PC. Theyre just covering their !@#$%^&*es, you would do the same. Honestly think about it "Lets run a segment on how ridiculously sensitive people can be, and at the same time do something that we now know those sensitive people might try to get us in trouble for!"

Oh get over yourself, geez... Lets just hoist every negative political trick upon the shoulders of the right-wingers and maintain that the left-wingers are spotless angels. (rolls eyes)

Bump. CMON ppl i want this recorded! POST.

Funny thing is, this is the guy who is the "SSC Forum Operator." lawl. Like i said, ive also seen him ban someone cuz he though quickwinning was hacking. And a third instance ill bring up... Me, aceflyer, another player, and keira were having a lil dispute in ssdevelopments chat. Aceflyer and the other player wanted keira out of the chat. I'll admit I had previously joined them in har!@#$%^&*ing her and poking fun at her, but everyone knew it was on a joking level. This day, after they pointedly har!@#$%^&* her, then demand she leaves chat, she refuses to do so, and pokes a lil fun back. Aceflyer went to candygirl, and bang bang, netban on the grounds that keira HAR!@#$%^&*ED them, etc. That ban held for a few hours till i logged back into ss and !@#$%^&*ed out ace and talked to cg.
-
Reminds me of the time you banned someone for quickwinning a flag game with a population of 1 cuz you didnt know wat quickwinning was and concluded taht he hacked. That was... a month or two ago? =P Anyway, this seems like a total !@#$%^&*bag move on aces side, however in NH's defense, a ssc sysop usually should be trusted, but guess not in this case. Oh and lynx you shouldnt have gone about it by !@#$%^&*ing at NH, be respectful =P

Astro has a way of taking a few simple statements, and taking to their far extreme and accusing the poster of something way beyond their original intentions :/ For the record, I fall against NB's side on this, so dont accuse me of just bashing astro cuz im on the opposite side of the debate.

Done: Created a new public map, tileset, and safety graphic for Halo. Created a new public map, tileset, and safe graphic for Extreme Games. Made a quickie tileset for our SSCI Ssdev zone. Work on a event plugin for T3 Gauntlet. Public tileset for Chaos. Unused new pub map, tiles, and two plugins for my Paintball Zone, which I have not yet reopened. Currently in progress: Tileset for Supernova. Another Tileset for Extreme Games. A pub tileset for DeathStar Battle.

Ok basically just wanna have a quick rap sheet of everything that members of ssdev have done in the past say... 6 months. This does not have to be in response to a post on our board, but any zone that you made stuff for, post it here. Also this is in no way a comparison of members to see who is working more, we just would like to have some sort of paper trail to show that ssdev as a whole contributes to the community! Just make one post, with a list of contributions made in about the last 6 months.

I mean i dont bother with trying to help every project ever :/ So i just tell what i see bad about it, so they can try and improve it. What i specifically don't like about the look is a few things. a) Fixed width single color theme c) too complex If it is gonna basically be a news feed, id suggest a very simple layout with not much in nav bars. Check out the ssbase site.
-
1) Ugly 2) I thought we had something that was doing this already... a subspace news site... that a couple ppl from different zones were contributing to..
-
Almost sounds like he saying theres no colored dots indicating players on radar... stealth? lol
-
It really has been an upgrade though. This machine was giving me just above average performance on vista, but it friggin flies on xp now.
-
This was on a brand new vista laptop, no GTk apps, installed gtk with whatever you had included in your package. Anyway ive "upgraded" to xp on this now anyway so i dont have the problem anymore

Knight maybe a way to determine if a developer gets in, is ask the people already qualified on the forum, about the specific person. That way if the developer has a wide spread reputation, enough forum members would know him and theoretically vote him in. Im just saying, look at me. Ive owned a SSC zone before, I will be owning a SSC zone again, I have sysoped SSC zones, and i have public contributions to about half the zones on ssc. First off, I can probly provide more insight than many of the lower ppl on the forum, and second, much stuff that is discussed, is probably worth reputable developers being aware of in addition to syops being aware of.
-
post this in the ssdev board. The two tileset artists there are myself and aqua, but I am quiet busy right now.
-
Knight when im talking bout getting access as a devver, i basically mean for the people that easily could be sysop in several places, but basically choose to stay free, and go from place to place contributing. I get offered staff lots of places, but dont like hankering down at one place, becuz then they usually don't like me contributing to others... Know what i mean? Not just every devver, but us people that have the ability of most big zone sysops, but choose to not stick to one zone.
-
Probably not, I'd think, although that is not set in stone. Don't take this like im furious about not getting in, cuz like i said, i hadnt even bothered to try registering, but... I'm kinda taken aback that you think you are so far above me ace. As far as I am aware, i have a better rapport with a larger number of people than you do. If were going to look at this from a dev perspective, i have tilesets or maps or "clear" (meaning not some miniscule addition) contributions in the majority of zones on ssc (eg, t3g, fusion, chaos, ds, halo, mk, rs, etc). Im pretty sure my reputation is solid among anyone who knows me. The difference between you and me? Ok you've been webmaster for a few sites, call that even with my zone contributions? Whats left? The fact that you sysop in a zone with no population? =/ Pointing out the flaws in the requirements... Theres plenty of ppl who aint sysops, who are going to have much higher reputations than small zone sysops. By your standards, a new sysop to say, Mystic Kingdom, gets instant access. MK has been dead for a year now? So that person would get access and I wouldnt? Even though ive been in the public development realm for... 4 years? Seems to me, a few years of public development would make someone just as knowledgeable to be able to sensibly contribute to these cross-zone, informational sort of topics you suggest are taking place on this forum. Does this not ring true at all?
-
Im curious as to where you draw the line from "dont think most devs need access" to w/e u said before which was somehting like besides sysops and zone owners, and well known influential ppl can get on the forum too. As a reference point, ill ask you point blank, would i get in? (I havnt bothered to register on it to find out)
-
Wow really? I had basically coded a whole new in in twcore, then recently decided i wanted to migrate it to merv... just had been too lazy to start that change yet... Ive been away from ss for about a week, i should get on in the next few days, ill hit you up

I cant do this atm since i dont have access to my computer with all my gfx software, but if its still undone tonight or tomoro I will knock it out. Theres a tool that will select all pixels similar to a certain color. So you would set a tolerance of like 12 or so, select a pure black pixel, and it would select all those slightly off-black ones too, then you just make them all completely black. As far as file size goes, I always use png's myself, but I reduce the color depth to 256, which takes a lot away from the filesize
