really to get yourself on SSC you need to know the right people, or have a good off-server zone with a decent population.

for me its probably taht I dont have the time to sit and play games for a reasonable period so iut is very hard to get into a game in the same way that I used to. I also find myself less paitent with the long and tedious parts of games and lose interest.

the real issue is that the 10-15 year old kids who are the next gen of hardcore gamers wont even go near a game that doesnt use the latests 3D graphics and has a population of less then 1 million. The generation of gamers that gave this game its population are now old enough to have real life to deal with and little time for this anymore. Thats not to say its all over, its just the more conventional methods used by bigger games with much better funding will not work. The question is what do these kids do? They will surf the internet and play a game for a quick laugh, or a game reccomended by a fiend. This means that to get new blood we need to continue devolpment to add something fresh to the game and draw back the old crowd, and secondly we need to place the game in channels that people will just click on for ASSS and giggles and reel them in that way. Things like digg or other user-generated content sites are a perfect method. Unfortunatly without any big updates to the game these communities will not take any interest...

Life would be a rare event, or at least life as we know it so the chance of it in star system X is very slim. The fact that there are so many starts out there means that somewhere is is likely to exist, probably many times. By the same process we can assume that intelligent species have probably evolved elsewhere that have had more time to advance then we have. This then leaves us with two questions if the above is true 1. Have they found us and 2. If we have been discovered do they study us by invasive or passive methods from what I understand there seems to be nothing to answer these questions. Yes there are many reports out there, but vast numbers have been shown to be hoaxes or fantasy. The other element is that many of the sightings of UFOs seem to coincide with the secret testing of military hardware. Given the sensitivity of these activities it is not surprising that governments allow the UFO conspiracy to circulate freely, and perhaps even fuel it to take away from the real issue. This leaves very few truly unexplained cases which are very difficult to verify. Based on the above I believe that there is something out there, but they probably haven't been taking us onto their ships for some overnight dissection, however based on the remote chance that it is possible (and I mean VERY remote) I would be open to new ideas on the issue if the data was very convincing and 100% verified.

I am so happy that one of the conditions of the UK bail out is no stupid bonuses. Only downside is noone has any cofedance in the government so it probably will not do a lot anyway.
