Spider and bzap are both right. In lanc always need to have an escape, never drive into a corner or a spot where you can be repelled into a corner. But you also need to use those guns, you have the highest recharge on the team, use it to spam those bullets. Gives your team the extra man needed to push foward. Being a good lanc is knowing when to cower and hide and when to charge.

there is to much logic in the evener already. it should just make teams even in numbers. if there is a 3 vs 5 flag game, the 5 will win.

Only thing that bugs me about the text based system that when you sell somthing you need to type its entire name, i think this is a saftey thing or somthing but i find it annoying. you can buy exo which is great but when its time to sell need to sell exoskeleton -

There is an experiance based system which is newbie unfriendly by nature. Should basically do away with alot of that and start people with 8k exp and 100k money. Then they can get right into the thick of it from the start, but still have things to achieve at higher exp.

All the players here have history with each other. People know who is good and who is not. Some players like each other and want to play together, some hate each other and refuse to be on same team. Not many people simply enter the arena, type ?flag, and go. Most of the time i can log on and if there is a flag game going, hit f2 and know who is going to win based on the players on the teams. Also there are more objectives then winning flag games. Some people are nanoing, some are parasiting, some want exp, some want money, some just want to piss off other people. You also have some people who will only play defense, they are always on the winning team or in spec. But after a year of playing here i know that the odds of having 2 teams full of people interested in challanging flag game is slim to none.

Sounds like the turf concept that spider keeps talking about but a much simpler implementation. I am willing to give it a go. Hopfully if you design a base psythe will insert it into one of the 7 slots so we can give it a try.

another one with out x-radar or antiwarp, for basing x and aw much better than energy scanner.

dont need to make repells any stronger, when lancing it is hard to recover from an offensive repel as it stands now.

adding the cooldown time remaining to the message should be very easy to do. Just went through an if where checked the cooldown time, so info is available to put in the message to user. My guess is everytime a field is launched the timestamp is saved, then do a check of current time minus field lanuch time. and check if result is > then field cooldown time. the time we need is then just field cooldown time - that result.

field cooldown is a nice addition, but the message could be more useful current message Your Field Launcher is currently recharging! better message Your Field Launcher is currently recharging! It will be ready in xx seconds. also the recharge time should be based on field, a chaos field should recharge faster than a coffin.

make the rewards higher as jp increases, say 1.5x at 10k and 2x and 20k. will promote longer flag games.

instead of ?flag putting you direclty on a flag freq it should send a request to the flag bot that you are interested in flagging. The flag bot then waits for 30 seconds or so (for other ?flag requests) before putting you in the game. This way bot can balance players. the flag bot then will place you on a flagging freq. The bot will also remember what players it put on what freq. If you leave the flag freq (forced/self induced) and need to renter, the flag bot can then attempt to place you back on your origional freq. Also if teams become unblanced it could ask the overpowered freq for people wanting to hop to balance the teams, and also reward the hopper in some way. Spidernl before you pounce on my use of the word 'bot' this could be hs code, bot is just easy to say.

hopping has become game within a game. You will log on and see 30 people in spec, large jp, and no flag game going on. It is because people dont want to ?flag unless they are on the winning freq. So they sit in spec waiting. When game starts, whatever freq has the flags gets the players. So teams size progress slowly 3vs5 4vs6 5vs7 ... The winning team always has 2 more players than the loosing team. This is because people in spec are typing ?flag in hopes to get on winning team, if not they hit f11 and wait for some poor fool to type ?flag so they can then hop on winning team. The poor fool seeing his error then specs. This also leads to very uneven teams, its only the experienced/laming players who know to do this practice, the inexperienced players just type ?flag and are happy where they land (after landing on loosing freq the corrosponding spot on winning team is instantly filled). So end up with 7 experienced players vs 5 not so experienced players.   Something needs to be done about this. I have a post about an automatic evener I would like to see implemented. I know that is a lot of work. Another thing I think would help is a 1 minute cooldown on typing ?flag. it would at least give the hoppers some grief. The cooldown needs to be long, hoppers are willing to wait. . Also mods should watch for hoppers and warn them, its easy to spot them, they are on the loosing flagging freqs for all of 2 seconds at a time.

Getting killed in center should reset your time in center. Somtimes there are a lot of people in center, which can make getting out of center in a lancaster difficult. Then the system adds insult to injury by specing you. Either that or grant a flagging ship that gets killed in center a transwarp token.

Oracle should show bombs on radar being the ultimate sensor and all. Buying combat sensors on top of oracle to see bombs on radar makes the entire center fit into your radar, making it useless.

Just because the game design allows it does not mean its legal, ex swearing, team killing, flag trading, interfering. are all allowed in by game design, but are not legal. Looking for a smod to answer.

is it allowed or abuse? if allowed I will buy transwarp key for my thor ship and join in the lameness. But i dont want to plunk down the money for trans warp then get warned/banned for abusing.

recently since fields have been nerfed, i have noticed people trans warp thoring. I beleve it to be an abuse where people should get warned by mods to stop. Transwarp thoring: 1. trans warp to ammo depot and buy thors 2. trans warp to base and launch thors from outside base 3. repeat 1 and 2 I beleve this is abuse because there is no defense for it other than mining the trans warp area. antiwarp does not work vs tw. If not abuse i will join the party, maybe make my banner look like a battleship.
