So anyone that wants to see if the 15 minute timer can come back for next reset. I would voice your opinion. At the moment the streak will expire at 10 minutes nude. I would suggest that the streak timer matches the safe zone original time at 15 minutes. Please do not keep the 13 hour timer for me ...Axe

Whats the state of the cr servers? toonz was talking that some of them were up again or at least there was a place to play it? I haven't even seen the maps nor have i played it. But i'm interested about the state of the game/servers. I wonder if someone has hacked the game or if it just got released to the public. Tell me more about cosmic rift! my cr is weak! ...Axe

thx cheese it was just too many clients logged in from the same ip. As long as any lan machine has sysop level everyones messages are fine. All players can log in and see public chat. Also everyone logging in from outside my ip is also good to go. Perhaps i'll find another solution later on if i can modify the message flooding. I used the bot option with the ip of my server. Now everyone can log in and see chat. ...Axe Play more ss

i have enjoyed this conversation on flagging I think everyone made valid points but as far as a change that is up to the main man himself Now I am also encouraging 15 minute safe zones i just updated the thread on that matter. As i no longer need the extended safezone my feeling is most people will enjoy it being 15minutes. Thanks polix i think under further investigation is a local network with 8 machines running. As i sometimes will have people playing together in a lan setup. So i'll play with the lan settings and also the message/flood limits. When i dropped down to one machine plus the server message problem seemed fixed. My new vote is for 15 minutes Bring it back to the classic time. But in doing so you should adjust the streaks not to timer out at 10 minutes. That way if your ship is kept alive in the safezone your streak is also still valid. then you also no longer have to worry about antiwarp in safezone . ...Axe

I doubt they will as it has been met with great hate the few times its shown up. Ziggy when he was doing one of his custom maps put it in and the backlash was fairly harsh. I actually like the powerball myself thats why i put it in my Kaos map. I think the power balls are better suited for fighting if you allow bullets and bombs. You can't warp away while you have it unless you jump in a wormhole. I like allowing the powerup and using the flags as BLOOD BALLS I think they are even better then the power up flags. Pity you can't have separate power ups for flags/balls. ie have the balls give power and the flags give points. But they are tied into similar settings if you do the power up. I also like psyops approach of allowing several types of games to go on in the same main arena. Ie space out the map so you can do just about everything all together. So have a spot for 4v4. have a neg area. dueling special event all in one. But i really feel that if the zone winners each got a vote towards some decisions in the zone it would be great. Win the zone get to choose a map. Or some other list of option hallu would be fine with. ...Axe SSDZ KAOS we have 4 balls

So closing in on the problem. Seems to have something to with pub chat and level of the account. If i grant one of these players *sysop then they can see the messages. So there must be some setting buried somewhere that is blocking people of a certain level from talking in blue. The digging will continue ...Axe

hey we are almost chatting on this topic The lower the flag timer the more running people will do to get the flag. I think its an inverse relationship. Unlimited timer means you find out who can wait longer or who will chase or hide more successfully. . You could of course fix that by having drop flags owned like i do in my Kaos Settings. But i also only have a 12 second timer so you really have to fight if you want to keep the flags. But that is set to that to make the flags more part of basing or zone defending method. Where you get the flags then put them some where then get back to fighting or defending. Between the 3 of us i think we are hitting on the main parts. If i'm wrong correct me. CG6 - Flags are 2 powerful they take away from just fighting. Ziggy- Flags are flags its never really going to change Axe- Flags are fine just change the settings keep it mostly the same. We should start a poll for fun 1 GET RID OF FLAGS 2 KEEP FLAGS the SAME 3 Change Flag Settings 4 Adopt the PowerFlag 5 Bring in the Warzone base flags! ....Axe ps if one of you knows how to do a poll make it so number1

Hello all at a quick glance i couldn't find anything that dealt with this problem with a search. So that out of the way I'll post this and see if any of you already know the answer Some players when they type a message in blue pub chat doesn't show up for other players. Its not the basics like ?ignore nor does it seem at first glance to be *lockpublic or one of the other lock commands. I'm wondering if a bot created some sort of hidden file with a few players names on it thats limiting their chat. I was playing with Bjorns Old AI bot so whether it has a locking chat function that got turned on i'm not sure. It is not currently running on this server reboot. Have tried a reboot etc. New players seem to be able to enter and chat to some players but not others. Sound like anything you have seen? thanks for the help ...Axe

I'll revisit it quickly just to be exact on what i'm saying The flag game as is works fine one doesn't have to play if you don't want. It only really matters if you care about overall points and restocking your ship. The zone is quite often and the game sits with the regular just kill or be killed style well. Reduce the Points 1/10th jackpot. Reduce the Toy Reprize to that of a recycled ship. Everything else keep the same as the flag game has become a part of this zone. The current bounty reset is 90 which isn't bad. If i changed this i'd match the streak kill number to make the most sense. ...Axe If i did change the chaos flag game to fit this zone. The only change i would make would be 1 powerflag. +1/+1 on. Then you have something to chase and everyone is fighting.

Heheh Grunt i was about to launch into my thoughts about the flag game but you sir have captured a key element So as I've played a lot of SS in chaos i have a pretty good feel for how this game is. I would call the current game CHAOS Flagging. As its style is in this zone. What i would do for the flag game is make the points to 10% instead of 100% this would allow you to see your points effect your overall total instead of eclipsing it. I like the SS shield. I always have when i first starting playing this zone again i was having the most kills but not getting the shield. Then i realized that as the jackpot is always going to give you the total number of kill points from the zone instead of just yours. It will give you the most points. If you dropped it to 10% it would give you a boost but the guy who was killing even more guys would be able to stay in front. I know hallu keeps his flag points separate but if you built the flag points into part of your usually points it would give the zone a better flow. If you do like keeping them separate you would of course already be able to do that by keeping it the same as it is. So you would have flag points winner and points winner. But you would also be able to have an overall winner. As far as the green boost. I like the bounties going up. I enjoy the rapid green to full but make no mistake it makes flagging well worth doing both for bounty and for prizes. If you gave the winners a fresh ship and a bounty booster but only gave them prizes at the same level a recycled ship would get. I think that would balance it out. Ie i win flags with my 1200 points ship. I get to keep my 1200 point ship but instead of getting 1200prizes added back to my ship i get 75 or what ever the starting bounty is. This way you might even lose stuff when you win flags. So you get points but you might get new stuff if you have used everything up or you might lose stuff if you have maxed out your ship. To recap. CHAOS FLAGS 1. Drop the Jackpot from 100% of kills to 10% 2. Do the reprize only as much as the current starting bounty. I think that would make it fit in with the classic style much better. The reason i wouldn't get rid of it is it seems pretty much ingrained in this zone now. As a side note when did this style of flag game come into the zone? ...AXE SSDZ KAOS Axe Demento SVS

Its funny you had this problem. Back in the mid 2000's when i want to play chaos for old times sake. I went to one of my older computers and try to play chaos. It was green and could never log in. I even reinstalled if i remember correctly. 2 years later i think it worked It never said banned. Tho at the time i thought i had crushed someone a bit 2 much and they booted me. I'm interested in you solving this just to know the reason maybe we have 10,000s of players with the same problem just waiting to play again ...Axe

A new year of fun is upon us all! To those with new years resolutions don't worry you can start again! I will be off on a trip once again so no Demento in march but i should return in april or may. I'm sure the renegades will keep chaos on its toes while i'm gone. Remember to check your fuel! I ran out at one of my places frozen lines are not to be enjoyed! For the last part of Feb. I will be playing in my subzone mostly when it is ready. It should be 0 bounty start. Power flags and the chaos west map. Also random shrap. When its ready i'll make sure i have a ship advertising its ?go location As always have as much fun as you can and spend your time doing what you enjoy. My son also enjoys the mine craft lately i think he has been enjoying the pvp servers Let me know in a pm sometime if either of you have a family friendly server for him to play or to try his maps. Which i quite enjoy. We also recommend terrarria which is a 2d side scroller as you know i'm partial to 2d side scrolling games Tho if you are going to fight the pirate army make sure you have 2-3 hours to defeat them we did get the Coin Gun which is a 1 in 8000 drop so he was happy and kept it for himself. Your SS is getting stronger. And this is good I am still gonna kill ya a bunch but you are making reasonable comments. Feel free to message me with your earlier name and get the respect or crush that you deserved ...Axe tho as far as being the only person in the zone. That roll does fall to me often as i will play a ship when there are no others. I do this so the 2nd player will join and lead us past 40 and dare i say 100 I only play SS for fun it doesn't ever upset me or bore me and this is why my ss is strongest.

Why do i care about names once i know the root player i know most everything thing they will do as the way my bombs and bullets will hit. If they will tank etc. Plus if they are a fun player i will enjoy playing with them. If they are a chump or need a crush i will crush em. People who roll play a ship if they enjoy it fine but it doesn't make any sense to me. chumps try and drive people out of the zone and instead they get crushed out. they bring it on themselves. Eth is fun. real picard is fun.
