for the record this is not me I only crashed my own servers when i unleased my self replicating bot army! I think 1700 bots crushed me pretty fast. I've got 20 computers set up now. Could they be also attack the directory server as i was seeing some of my zones get through on the ssdir.playsubspace.com directory biller. I was also playing around with some of the directory servers just for such an event. Hope everyones files are safe! i'm in the SSDZ feel free to join me if you can find the info if not just add a custom 76.70.72.186 port 1999 and you should find me fine if the other directory servers continue to stay down. tho as of 12:12est at least some of the directory servers are sending info. ...Axe

Hello SSpacers, Axe Demento here! Looks like some-people have been having some problems with public chat. When you come into the zone just join ?chat=kaos and talk in orange to be safe to start. Or just type out MARCO. If someone responds with a POLO. your good to go. One players in Taiwan is getting about 75% of the messages i'll play with send reliable messages and also see if i can tweek some other settings as you know i'm about the flying and the talking! If you try and log into a zone that says you don't have enough hours to play here. Its only that zone some zones are only for the chosen! or as it says on the description CHOOSEN Any of the standard zones should indeed be fine but if you have problems post me a message here and i or someone else will fix it. If you are trying to connect with an old copy of SS which i recommend if you have never played the orignal client. Try SSDZ KAOS South, SSDZ KAOS classic or SSDZ War they should work If you are trying SSDZ North the file size and the lvz size are really large. The graphics are pretty but i would still be downloading this from 1995 if i was using my 1200baud modem. It is the DS9 star trek map that 2pacZ was kind enough to suggest taking a looking at. Heheh Depends on the zone GC6. the 500 hours club should be the only one new players can't get into. As far as passwords go everyone should always use a fresh password on any NEW ZONE or new game also i'm currently testing several different billers and will eventually customize one. Also some zones you can fly with the old client i've gotten 1.34/1.34d and now 1.35 Its funny some commands of course work on some version and not on others. So warpto actually doesn't work on some of the old clients. My name is Demento so the madness goes without saying. I was trying not to talk about SSDZ zones in the chaos thread but i think this is going to be something I'll just have to deal with. As far as usage goes i'll be getting in the the .dat file soon to be able to mod usage (seconds played) I'll take beta & SCC & SSDZ &any other zone you can show me to add them together for true SS playtime. When i've done that i'll have 10,000hours club etc. For this reason alone having a password you don't think can be reviewed is dangerous. I don't want to use your password on SSC as i have my own! I did just mention i was here b4 chaos and i will be here after chaos the SSC zones are down. So if you want to fly the trench wars maps or the chaos maps i may put them up. But the settings will be SVS SSDZ Everyone have fun I've got lots of good games planned and my AI's are gonna be sweet but that takes awhile. Thanks for the good wishes I am stopping by chaos for fun & profit I played a bit last night and enjoyed seeing some of my squad and of course many of the players But you know what i don't miss is the weak ss so many players are just bitter and sit in spec and complain. I'm now after all this time playing the game going to get an ignore.txt I don't mind discussion i don't mind disagreement but what i have no time for is soul sucking whining my days of wasting time on talking with those players is done. I will also be parking my ship in ?go chaos0axe with the 0 bounty start. Always up for a game just message me. I'll be monitoring across billers As far as my ego goes i see exactly what needs to be done to improve things. Now i know what tools are not being used. The ability to make changes is so quick. Its a press of a button and a few lines of code. But type ?owner and you don't see Axe Demento which is fine. I have nothing but good wishes for Passplay & Hallu and what ever other shadowy figures lurk behind the scenes. I was in chaos before this chaos existed and i will be in chaos after it is gone. Just call 2011-2014 the Axe Demento Years. This is the new age what you do with it is up to you. As for me I'll play but I'm not defending it any longer. 1.35 is running nicely on a couple of older machines running windows xp with th 2002 update. 1.34 i can run on windows 7,8,8.1, vista its fun to have another option for a client plus there are a lot of things i actually like better about subspace over continuum. But continuum has many good features ie chat related stuff and moving my thor to f1 back when it came out has spoiled f6 for me oh well easy enough to remap my keyboard as a workaround. Or use one of my g1-g18 keys m1,m2,m3 currently in g6... but my finger doesn't love the spot (thats what she said) ...Axe

I support your efforts to play more games I'll look to check it out. As i didn't play games during the cr time period First make the money then play the games.... Demento rule number 6 I know Toonz will be happy and Golden Blaster as well! I did like infantry with the team work but never played it as much as the classic SS. The best combo for me still would be SS 2.0 with the same game play but more ships and toys and map options. No need to make it 3D or do much with the high end graphics. SS is classic. As long as the ships fly in a similar way I can enjoy it. ...Axe

No one has at first attempt gotten 1.35 to run. Might be a compatibility issue or it has something to do with running 1.35 with 1.34 in a sub directory. I have some recollection of having to do that 15 years ago I'll let you know if i get it working on one of my machines running windows 1995/1998/me etc. If anyone knows how to get 1.35 to run! on windows 8/7 or Linux feel free to post it here or in my thread on the other forum Keep those files coming Aquarius and i for one am always interested in more SS stuff! ...Axe

Thanks for the link cheese and I'll read it even further in a moment. But i'm looking for the Nics that made the Beta Test. Not SSC stats. But VIE SS. As i think i mention above they gave play tester names but not the nics that played. the link that you gave me is good for my 5000 hours club or 10,000 hours. and i will state right now my 10,000hours of the SSC biller is from playing and safezone. Not sitting in spec. Tho i do give a shout out to snaffy for getting 7years logged in. now he just has to get a few hours on the SSDZ ...Axe

I'm looking for any copy of the older versions of SS I'm going to grab one of my older hardrives to see how far back i can go i should have plenty of old versions. But also i'm trying to remember subspace 1.35 did you have to install it in a subdirectory of SS 1.34? As at a quick try i don't think i've had any luck playing on a server with 1.35 I'm enjoying flying around using 1.34 feel free to log into SSDZ KAOS SOUTH its working there. So to recap anyone got a good version of 1.35? it seems to be hard to find. Thanks pollix for putting up the iso of the orginal disk but i'll use my original to fly. My spare copy is staying sealed in the box tho... so each of you will have to get your own. Also when was the last time anyone found a copy of SS? i don't think i've seen one in 15years. ...AXE

GC6 why are you talking about KAOS in chaos forum? if i wanted to talk about that here i could fill every single thread but that is not the case. My Bots work for a living Did you notice them in spec? the only spec'd name beside mover who was running the sound bytes was you. Next time you visit my house get a ship. Soon spec will not be allowed at all. As far as bot/non bots. I'll run down every single zone thats on the list and i will have a bot to match each spec'd player or bot. I think chaos has about 18 bots running non stop. Then many players that never leave spec. Look for the totals soon. I just went on a trip returned in the middle i have 17hours left on my 168hour (1 week timer) Any one who is ready to have some fun is welcome to park and ship and join the fun. When you have been approved for the other zones you will be able to play those games as well. Got a really fun Risk Style map on its way. But i'm not interested in bitter players only fun ones. Already had a stack of people that used to play stop in which is great. But even better then that is new players that haven't played before they get to log in learn how to kill some weak bots. Lots of fun coming and many many more bot versions. C#, python, battlecore, merv, Bjorns and more on the way. Soon i'll have some mining bots and some flag grabbing bots got a fun way for a bot to piggyback a player to collect flags. Also i will soon have bot waves like a chess puzzle. I know Gad was having lots of fun fighting killer waves.
