  1. who wants to nameduel
  2. I always say my 3 primary languages are c, c#, and python and each is better suited to different situations so there is no reason you can't learn them all in time. I would focus on python initially as there are a lot more "starting out" resources available for it.
  3. Such a rule was never announced because I figured it would be mind numbingly obvious, it's considered standard practice everywhere else I've ever heard of.
  4. Lo fi works pretty well
  5. Effective immediately, the following players are suspended from participating in any official league matches, on the grounds of name security: Yoruichi Deedlit Klammy Unix Zone and league officials will be looking into this matter. Additionally, ref powers have been removed from the Unix+ account.
  6. same old hat
  7. Alright then, give me the closed loop transfer function with a PID controller.
  8. No bending of the rules is required and I have no idea why you're calling this "dev". NEXT! I'm sorry, what's the title of this thread? OH RIGHT, "Want to make money faster? LEGAL Idea", but no money never came into consideration at all. If you want to see cooperation get people to cooperate to WIN a flag game, not lose one. Or can you only win flag games if every other game the enemy tries to hand it to you?
  9. I mean we can still enjoy our victory
  10. tree
  11. No really, let's see how this one works out for you. Your interpretation of the rules matters much less than my interpretation of the rules. ps if you can cooperate this much, why not just cooperate to win every game and get 100% of the jackpots
  12. I can just say that unless one of us writes it, its highly unlikely to be an official zone bot (especially since it doesn't need to be).
  13. Cross posted from http://forums.minegoboom.com/viewtopic.php?t=8620 Long ago I announced that I had begun on a Gtk# based chat client but it was still very rough around the edges. After much refactoring and cleaning up of the code base, and spending countless hours using it myself, I am no longer completely embarrassed by the state it is in so I've turned the private bitbucket repository public. It works on Windows and Linux (using mono), you'll need to download Gtk# if you don't have it. For those that just want to use it, there's the manifold-bin package that works on both OS's available for download. If you supply "--terminal" at the command line to Manifold.exe it won't use the user interface and you'll just see a terminal output. If you're interested in building the code, after checking it out in the src directory run "make prepare" then "make core" (also gui and exe if you are interested). Similar to Cerium's jcnlib, the Manifold.Core library just gives you access to a Connection object you can create and use in whatever application you want with its modular architecture. The GUI itself is a module and also quite extensible which I can talk about if anyone develops an interest.
  14. Rather than pirating something you should probably just read a guide
  15. The ideal method to check and restart would depend on the process, some things use pid files and/or have specific scripts or command line arguments to kick them off in the way you want
  16. There's a jabber server written in python that I got to run as a module one time
  17. Spider its nice that you and Unix are battling for 2nd place with match scheduling but can we please stop the conspiracy theories
  18. You're talking about something at the protocol level of the application, when the issue has more to do with the hardware
  19. What does this mean?
  20. You can chat right now on any mobile phone that has an ssh client, just terminal into a machine that has ccc on it
  21. This was like a really stupid conversation that was going on in pub chat in Hyperspace a few days ago where some (I'm assuming younger) people were saying that the terms conservative and liberal were applied to the opposite group that they should have been because its the democrats that typically want conservation and the republicans are more interested in liberation. Was really frustrating to watch.
  22. The biggest problem I have with internet progressives, anyways, is that they seem to have a tendency to say things like, I don't want to get into another health debate, I'm just using this as an example. Every single competing alternative to a perceived problem has advantages and disadvantages, and if you cannot understand the merits of one idea you are likewise incapable of grasping the detriments of another. In my mind what they are effectively saying is, Also, everyone across the board needs to become more accustomed to working within realistic constraints. Sure, every once in a while we need a couple of geniuses to ignore them and make ridiculous breakthroughs but those people are not you.
  23. We do periodic saves of everything as well as saves for specific people under certain conditions (like disconnecting). When a crash occurs this almost always means that aside from a couple of people who were doing things, everyone is back where they were like 10 minutes ago or however quick our interval is. Really the only way to lose money through transfers is to give the money to someone else then disconnect from the donor account but not the recipient in between a periodic save and a crash. All you need is consistency, if you disconnected from both or neither accounts it wouldn't be an issue. That being said, server crashes are largely beyond our control and it's an assumed risk you take on in any high value transactions.
  24. Latency.
