I think you misunderstood, it's a C# binding that lets you use things like OpenGL, OpenAL, SDL, and a bunch of other stuff I've never heard of. Calling it a "framework" is a bit of a misnomer.

Also, I can see this backfiring. Yes, you've thrown a couple words out there but that doesn't justify this idea of yours. You're still being incredibly vague. You need to come up with: What it is, exactly, this is supposed to accomplish. How (specifically with details) this is going to accomplish those things. What could possibly go wrong in the process. How those problems (again, with details) will be addressed. Once you have those, you should be able to answer "Why bother?"

Is there a serious, worthwhile advantage to this over the ?chat system? Don't just say "this could be really good, let's see what happens", I want something concrete before I'll think there's anything to it.

jgrasp is the biggest piece, only bluej is worse from your specifications, sounds like you should use C/C++. Dev-C++ would be a good choice of development environment, and so would Visual C++ express For GUI's I like using GTK, which has a visual designer (that generates code) called Glade

I hate to rain on this parade, but the idea doesn't sound like it has any pros to outweigh its cons
