chatnut is a java application, so you would need the java runtime to be able to use it

We could go back to the old buy/sell system and it still wouldn't be like old hs because the players are different now.

Then it becomes solely a question of who has more skill because differences in wealth are negligible. Oh the horror, even footing. Yes, part of the zone is building up your ships. What people seem to forget is that after you have built up your ships, there are still other people to kill and flag games to win. Back in old (I mean OLD) hyperspace, the majority of the time was spent in the maxed phase and nobody complained about it being boring. Because it wasn't.

HS has always had more greed-related problems than other zones. Runwinners can usually be killed when they aren't using the TW, and that's been disabled.

I never meant to say it runs on linux (I think it uses winsock), but was just throwing it out there that you don't have to worry much, if at all about compiler issues
