  1. You're talking about sgcompat The thread I linked was a module called mervcompat that actually lets you run merv code as a module
  2. Funny you should say that, I believe Hybrid came with a TWCore emulator
  3. We already had this discussion: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=19128 I'm still more scared of year 2038
  4. Due to technical limitations, I can virtually guarantee there will never be a way to properly run a MERV Plugin on a TWCore bot or vice-versa. You could use the bridge merv plugin to kinda maybe do it, but it will probably be very ugly and a lot of unnecessary work. The ASSS module in question is here
  5. yes, Linux was definitely designed to be a big hit with the Visual Basic crowd

    haha what happened there
  7. Wasn't there a separate one for use with IPB at one point?

Are we going to have to move this thread or can you guys keep it together?
  9. Are you not able to run both cores at the same time?
  10. Daniel Tosh
  11. Sorry if this doesn't make sense to me, but if you're bleh with merv why are you so attached to it?
  12. so use a java bot core?
  13. If you like fields or powerballs you should thank Arnk because those are both entirely his contribution. At one point or another he's probably contributed to just about everything else.
  14. Once again, I point out that Fractionized was better
  15. I can see the merit for zone placeholders, but 10 of the 20 of the pages in Category:Players are blank and almost all of them were created by somebody else. I'm just saying if you're not going to take the time to at least put SOMETHING in it, don't create the page. Personally, I don't like the idea of new pages just for the sake of page creation. I look at it as a commitment to at least get a page started, ideally to the point where more people more knowledgeable on the subject can just fill in extra info here and there without a whole lot of effort. @Blocks: Wouldn't a "page doesn't yet exist" link be a bigger cue? I think it's misleading to have a link to a page thinking "oh, what's this" and then have it not say anything. @S!@#$%^&*: I didn't create the page if you're trying to demonstrate hypocrisy. It's not a priority for me either way.
  16. Do you think we should make a rule that you have to put content in a page when you create it? Most of the stuff I see right now is just empty.
  17. I think that makes more sense anyway
  18. Isn't that what the discussion page on the wiki is for? edit: Oh I see, it links here
  19. What I did not make this topic
  20. This is the discussion topic for the wiki article: D1st0rt
  21. Not quite
  22. One of the problems with flag games here is that greed plays a larger role in the game. In zones where one flag game doesn't have any particular bearing on future games, veteran players are more likely to join a struggling team to make the game more interesting, and consequently more fun for everyone playing. Since hs bucks persist, this doesn't really happen as often because there is a direct compe!@#$%^&*ive advantage that comes from winning as much money as possible, even if it isn't as fun. It has been like this for a long time, and unfortunately the underlying cause for this type of behavior isn't going to change any time soon if at all. To the veteran players: If you want the zone to be more fun, even up the teams. Sure you might lose sometimes, but then it would actually mean something when you win. You might even find that facing some real compe!@#$%^&*ion in a base is more fun than running around center trying to see who mow down more stock ships before dying. It's also a great way to scout prospective new members for your squad. Just something to think about, not all gameplay improvements have to come from the staff/developers.
  23. It might have to do with players not realizing that basing is a pretty good way to increase the jackpot
  24. That was what our older systems were like, I can't right now foresee a time where we will ditch the component based system we currently use. This is partly because of the extra control it gives us when dealing with item configuration
