The only problem I have with the current set is that it is very polarized. One item will favor recharge, and its counterpart will favor energy. Most of the items follow this pattern. I figured if we were going to have an abundant set with a lot of variety and choices, we should steer clear of this pattern.

Could you set up a separate database where someone could edit and play with values? The final product can be uploaded by yourself or another established SysOp.

It seems one fell swoop is still the best option. Possibly at the time of a reset.

I recommend a sub arena for people to test items. It would be less of a shock since people will have time to play with them and it would help to refine any balancing issues.

I do not have anyone in mind but I would prefer someone who is familiar with hscore. I don't think a rotation style is going to work, however. The entire set has to be balanced with each item in consideration of each other. Also, each time an item is changed people will have to rebuild their ship. This needs to be one fell swoop.

I agree. Multiple people should be consulted for proper balancing. EDIT: We could have an open discussion and encourage input from all players.

Let's face it. Any effort to increase population will be fruitless unless new content is produced. We need new items and/or an item designer. In my opinion, an entirely new item set would be neat. Cry/whine in this thread to garner support and show the SysOps what needs to be done for this zone to survive. Ideally, we'd like to see someone hired as an item designer. EDIT: Ideas and suggestions for items and sets are also appreciated.

I admire your principles and your artistic talent. However, I do consider drawing and playing games to be of equal productivity. I measure productivity by output. Video games are unproductive because at the end of the day, all you have is points and e-money. While drawing does yield more doodles, that's all you're going to have. Only you and your friends are going to appreciate those doodles, similarly to points and e-money. Inspiring people does have its merits, though. Even if it's only an attempt.

I was under the impression that you quit playing to be more productive.

Wasn't this already on the mqp before? Wasn't it also removed because people complained that it was too easy to hold and defend?

To be honest with you, I don't see people getting confused at all. Teams have been successful in communicating with each other to discern which base to go to. If a mistake it made, it is never made twice.
