    Sysop Abuse

    This is going nowhere.
  2. I refuse to believe that Snrrrub and Doc Flabby force you to use a different password for each zone. Your choices are thus: use a single directory password like everyone else, or enjoy your completely secure and completely empty zones.
  3. Your zones don't show up on sscentral.sscuservers.net. You probably have directory password problems.
  4. I didn't get that at all from his post. You have a history of misinterpreting posts about Iran. I didn't bother reading your reply further.
  5. All I'm saying is that there aren't any Xylophone shops in my town.
  6. I'd bet X sucks pretty hard for you, then.
  7. Why is part of this thread outside the internet? And why the hell is it completely contained in "smarts", unless you mean smarts as in pain.
  8. I'm no Linux expert, but I've found that SuSE is one of the worst distributions I've ever used. I've found Ubuntu and Fedora much easier to work with.
  9. Don't say that passionate players aren't afforded a chance to help, because it's simply not true. Whenever a passionate player PMs me in-game, I always give them support and encourage them to do whatever they're trying to do, (when possible without violating zone security), but somehow they never finish. I've had a half dozen players offer to create new maps in the past 6 months, and yet I've never once received a finished map file. It's easy to claim that the zone development team doesn't do enough, but the truth is that every one of us does more than *anyone* in general population.
  10. Why are you using charset=iso-8859-1 if you're saving it in ANSI?
  11. Any era in HS has had complainers. There are actually a lot less complaints on the current system than there were in "the good old days". There were reasons for the changes, and those reasons still hold true (flagging problems, balance problems, bountying problems, exploitable things, etc). That's why we're not going back.
  12. Statistics are too easily twisted to be inherently meaningful.
  13. Canada might mail you anthrax, and you call Americans crazy?
  14. No, they mail it within a certain number of weeks after they get your tax return. This is all about the USA. If you live somewhere else, it probably won't be the same.

    Reset

That's 4 lines on my res.
  16. You know you can do them now, right? You don't have to wait until the 15th of April.

It never got put back up when we moved to SSI.
  18. With modern switches and routers doing auto-detection of the cross-over/straight-through, I've found that I almost never have to make a cross-over cable. This would have been great 10 years ago, though.

Not with a leprechaun specifically, but I think a catgirl was proposed in the primordial warp2 days.

That module took quite a bit of work, and still doesn't work right. It also depended on another module which didn't exist until a few months ago. So basically, you have no idea what is easy and what is hard, and shouldn't be lecturing us on how we spend our limited time. Feel free to write the code for your ideas yourself. That's a great way to get them added.
  21. The old team scrambler crashed the zone.
  22. Chatnet is a protocol. Chatnet clients use the Chatnet protocol. Subgame doesn't support Chatnet, not the other way around.
  23. You didn't say what was wrong with the current chatnet enabled zones.
  24. ...and? Isn't that what I said in my post?

Ships and money have been reset. A special thanks goes to Chronic_killer for starting the topic to raise my awareness about resetting: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=24409
