  1. I'm a big Java fan, but Java for Continuum is a bad idea. There is a mul!@#$%^&*ude of resons, but I wont go into them.
  2. Press F7 when a turret is on you. Problem solved.
  3. Don't be too sure. I don't use merv, but the core I do use does NOT work on ASSS without heavy modifications, and I'm not talking about *arena to *a.
  4. I think he shouldn't have been forced to remove it, but I think that as a Judge, he should have compiled with the court order.
  5. Ok, clone my bot. SSCI Hyperspace. Its not a bot anymore, but It was a few days ago. Every thing it does can still be done by a bot. If I were to release the source to it, you can bet there would be three clones of my zone within five miniutes.
  6. I would think most zone sysops would like the bot to be closed source, so no one else has access to that type of bot.
  7. I have a sonic themed subarena in Hyperspace. Well, I did until I moved to ASSS. Picano2.0 did all the graphics.
  8. I agree.
  9. It would be better to use shapes. Oh, and thats another 2x for KotH.
  10. Yes, I think catid added it in the very latest MERV build.
  11. Yah, that would be nice. I havent touched my computer for 5 miniutes, so you can probably assume that I am AFK.
  12. i agree with this. it will allow 'better' players to have a better ship to use. it will further seperate the noobs and the 1337s Actually, Armada !@#$%^&*ail used to have this. I tell you what, that zone was REALLY addicting. The bot gave all players a "rank" by the number of points they had. Higher ranks would first open up more ships, and then offer free upgrades such as multi, xradar, etc. The ultimate prize was free prox, and since the L3 and L4 bombs were one-shot kill, it was VERY valueble. The goal of getting this kept me playing for weeks. Ofcourse you could get all these upgrade by greens, so a new player had the possiblity of getting a l33t ship. The obvious problem with this is that it discourages new players from playing, and discourages even more people from going to different zones. Another problem is that good players with good ship will grow lazy, less skillful, and more egotistical. My zone (SSCI Hyperspace) has this to an extreme, but it would be nice to have a system built into the game.
  13. Are you asking for subgame, or continuum?
  14. No. The protocol remains the same.
  15. Yes, the client determines the normal greens, but the server does the death prizes. And the server does get a copy of the green picked up, so it can forward it to team mates and *watchgreens. Because the server gets a copy, it could send a sound code to the player(s) that picked it up. That would actaully be very easy to do.
  16. Its possible with ASSS, but it could be slightly lagged. Now, its a sound, and slighly lagged isn't really a big deal.
  17. So, that makes 6 sentances.
  18. A S S S
  19. Yes, exactly. It has something to do with the way that UNIX detects what type of file something is.
  20. Its actually the web server's fault, but Javascript can fix it up for ya.
  21. Ya, I keep forgetting that mad.
  22. Having 8 identical ship graphics will compress very well. The extra download time will be almost nothing. The only concern is extra hard drive space.
  23. Shutsdown, or spontaniously reboots?
  24. Yes, it would be nice. But I'm afraid there is only slightly better than a 1 in 1,000,000 chance of it happening.
