  1. The US president is not the most respected person in the world. Then who is? The Pope, the Dali Lama or someone similar.
  2. I think that might come from a conversion from rectangular velocity to polar and then back again. Of course, I can't see the source code, so I could be totally wrong.
  3. Interesting. Now, are those figures balanced by how much of a percentage the server group represented? For example, there are fewer BSD servers than Windows servers, but it might be possible that a greater percentage of the BSD servers were hacked than windows ones, even if the actuall numbers of windows ones would be greater. NOTE: I know BSD is way more secure than Windows.
  4. Quoted from the one dumb post I ever saw you make. Imagine the odds...
  5. What part of "impossible" don't you get?
  6. This doesn't involve a client change. Only a server change. Means it's easy to do with ASSS, but you will have to wait if you need to use subgame.
  7. It's good to go. D1's one of my mods.
  8. SSCI Hyperspace to SSCX-A Hyperspace Thanks
  9. One of the design goals of ASSS was to use bandwidth more efficiently, so I don't know how you can say that, SVS. As for Hyperspace being 'laggy', it's not lag in the conventional sence. What happens is that reliable packets get jammed up somewhere and all the important messages from the server stop going to that client. This causes the 'lag out' that Hyperspace players are so fond of. And if ASSS can't handle Hyperspace, no way will it take TW. And I am guessing that even if it could, TW will stick to subgame indefinitly.
  10. Close enough
  11. Yes, the client tells the server what prize it picks up, and then forwards the *prize to the rest of the team. So you can be on the other side of the map and not even see the pickup. Side note: this is how *watchgreen gets it's data.

    Question

I'm not sure you read my post properly...

    Question

And who said it has no basis? All I said was not to listen to anyone else on the matter.
  14. Thats too dumb to even warrant a responce... Whoops.
  15. Changed the warping method to a relative exit vector style warp, rather than a full stop random vector. Should decrease mining's impact.
  16. Indeed. Catapults wont be point-to-point soon, eliminating cata-flagging. Mining, however, may still be an issue. Try rockets.
  17. Doesn't have all the checks it needs. Doesn't check for devide by zero is an obvious one.

    Question

I am the only one who knows whats going on. Don't listen to anyone else, as it would be only 2nd hand or 3rd hand knowlege.
  19. Each ship has a max weight. Go over that, and you start loosing thrust and speed. Yea, its fine to think of it as prizing upgrades, even tho it wont quite work like that.
  20. Ok, I didn't really explain this well. I have a few different types of components. The only one I need at the moment is the upgrade ones. I DO have bomb and bullet ones, but I don't need ideas for them just yet. Those are good ideas bomook, and I will probably add them in, but everyone keep posting in the format I provided (for now).
  21. Ok, here is the deal. I need a bunch of components for ships. Anyone got any ideas? There are 9 values each component needs. name (Duh?) exp_requirement (0 to 10000) (1000 is still a newbie, 5000 is a vet, 10000 is uber vet) cost ($) weight (1 to 10) possible_ships (any combination of 1 through 7) speed (-10 to 10) rotation (-10 to 10) thrust (-10 to 10) recharge (-10 to 10) energy (-10 to 10) For example: High Performance Thruster Array exp: 4000 cost: $50,000 weight: 5 ships: 1 and 2 speed: +5 rotation: +1 thrust: +5 recharge: -1 energy: +0

    BTW

It seems to be quite acceptable until about 10-12 players, at which point it intensifies.
  23. do i detect a note of sarcasm? Well, it has been mentioned a few times before, so probably.
  24. Dr Brain

    BTW

Hyperspace is back online at SSCX-A Hyperspace. It still has the lag bug, but we well on our way to fixing it.
  25. Will happen at some point.
