This could be added at the server or biller level. Write up an ASSS server module that does this, then beg your favorite zone's sysop to add it.

I had forgotten most of those, but I tell some of the ones I suggested. They are fun to read over again

I don't think you should respond on any topic, but...

That makes things too complicated for newbies, and money will never really be an issue. I have never liked the upgrade slot scheme, and I have some ideas of ways to replace it. Thats an idea. I may end up changing the entire upgrade system if im not careful . I will probably make FBs sector specific, and have ships carry them like reloads. I would probably set the limit at two, but that can be changed. The root of the problem is determining the reward for killing, as it shouldn't really be based on real bounty. I can probably manipulate bounty so it displays the reward rather than how many prizes the player has received (who really cares?). There is no doubt that something needs to be done, I just don't know what yet. Im not sure that removing a percentage is the best way to do it.

It's an idea, but it could be carried too far. Another interesting idea, but has some drawbacks, such as players who simply AFK ingame to earn big bucks. Bigger items already cost more. Money will never be a determinig factor for the ultamate ship. Increasing costs only hurts newbies, the vets don't even notice a dent in their hundred thousand dollar wallets. Sorta already covered in this thread.

Some fun ideas there, mook, but here are mine: Change catapults into Jump Gates, so they send ships into hyperspace, rather than into the destination sector. The gates would be publicly accessable. Because any team would be able to get around, teams would no longer get a default warping method, instead, engines and such would have to be purchased. Mining may be a problem with some gates, hence the other forms of transport. Some high traffic gates will be gaurenteed free of mines. The most obvious engine is the Jump Engine. It allows a ship to create a bridge between hyperspace and realspace, allowing access to a sector that doesnt come from a fixed location, such as the gates. This is an addon that can be added to hulls. A method similar to one you mentioned, the Transwarp Hub allows rapid deployment between sectors. This is not a ship component that can be added to hulls, but rather a service the team can purchase for the duration of a flag game. Due to saftey regulation issues, this cannot be provided to public teams. The hub itself is located in a strategicly unappealing section of the universe, so as no contestation over territory would ever arise. It cannot be accessed from any of the other sectors, and has no hyperspace correspondence. Another ship component that can be added to hulls is the Interdimentional Shifter. This allows the ship to instantly transport from sector to sector without the inconvenience of going through hyperspace. Its primary drawback is that only the equipped ship is able to transport. This makes it unappealing to fighters, but ideal for capital ships and scouts. While not quite an engine, the Summoner is able to recall friendly ships from anywhere in the known universe to the equipped ship's position. This uses a similar technology to attaching, but takes no energy from the summoned ship, allowing it to rush into battle fully charged. Guild Space Liners can be brought into a sector for a period of time to serve as a battle HQ and indestructable attachment point. Because of their sheer size, they cannot be placed inside a base, but for this reason, they cannot be destroied by conventional means. Some of these would have different "grades" of performance. Of course, the very highest quaility Jump Engine may not use any energy and never misfire (), but it will take up a heck of a lot of room on your ship, and you will pay through the ears for it. Something I have recently been toying with is a homing beacon, something that can be planted, and warped to (possibly by another ship) with a fold style warp. This would fulfil the goal of your m!@#$%^&* portal. Other things are, as always, a possibility.

I have no info, as you said, but I will keep you guys updated when I can. I have, been very busy the past month, and I have done almost no development on the zone while it has been down, but as soon as it goes back up, I plan to work on adding the new map in. Other things like new settings and graphics will follow shortly after the new map.

I'm just gonna nuke useless posts for a while.

For those of you who didn't hear on our other forum, we are moving to the SSCX ASSS server as soon as it is online. I have no ETA. End of line
-
If SSForum can handle the 17th parrallel's forum, they can handle ours.
-
Right... Well, we have moved the forums here. Hopefully the zone will be up soon.

It's coming back before long.

Way of counting #2. I got my hands on the source to it a while back and made myself the ever unpopular death spree bot. Dr Brain is dying a lot! (0:6)

The US had submarines too. But I'm pretty sure the US had more nukes than the USSR. The russians would always parade their nukes around in a loop so it looked like they had more than they really did. But, once you get enough too wipe out the world, it harldy matters how much more you have.

IMO, only a revolution or war will save the EU from drowning in its own decay. I wish it weren't so, but it's the only outcome I see if the contries don't change. I fear the same death with the UN. I see it going the way of the League of Nations.

Wasn't the threat of terrorism the reason for going to war against Iraq and Afghanistan? Isn't that why your president calls it a War on Terrorism? Heh. GG. The threat of nuclear destruction didn't stop the backward nations of Iraq and Afghanistan from becoming a threat to US national security. Nuclear weapons and M.A.D. don't work against rogue states or rogue individuals. You very much do have to "worry about countries". They never had the capibilty to destroy the US. Thats what we are talking about here. Yes, we are warring those terrorist nations because they had the ability to kill a few thousands (maybe tens of thousands), but they never had the ability to destory the US like the U.S.S.R had. At the time of the cuban missle crisis, the Soviet Union had enough nuclear weapons to rid the world of humans (incidently, the US had enough to do that 10 times over). One of the resons we went to war with Iraq was to prevent Saddam from ever getting an atomic bomb (not the strategic thermonuclear hydrogen bombs, just a simple tactical fission bomb). He could have caused great causalties with one of these. Obliterated New York City like Hiroshima or Nagasaki, but life in the USA would go on.

If you wanna know what happens when it goes socialist, just look at the crubling EU. The Scandanavian countries in Europe are a classic example of how socially responsible capitalism CAN work. The threat of destruction keeps everyone safe. That theory didn't exactly work for the people in the Twin Towers, etc. As for China, I beleive that it's setting itself up for a U.S.S.R. like implosion. The US's policy on China has been to "export capitalism" to it, and slowly reform it. China is nothing like the USSR. China is an industrial powerhouse. The USSR never was. Monte I like how you removed the part about not having to worry about countries, then saying how it doesn't work because terrorists attacked us. GG

The US will last at least as long as it is a capitalist nation and not a socialist one. If you wanna know what happens when it goes socialist, just look at the crubling EU. As for the UN, it's basicly removed whatever teeth it used to have over this Iraq stuff. I give the UN ten years max without a major overhaul. I mean Lybia on the Council of Human Rights??? As for war, the only thing we have to worry about is terrorists, as any country that attacks us can be destroied with strategic nukes. The threat of destruction keeps everyone safe. This is why nuclear disarmorment is a very bad idea. As for China, I beleive that it's setting itself up for a U.S.S.R. like implosion. The US's policy on China has been to "export capitalism" to it, and slowly reform it.

Whatever you do, you don't want to set anything to your zone's port + 1. so if you are using 1000 for your zone, DONT use 1001. Instead use 1002 or 1010 or something else. This is because subgame pings the server on port + 1.

Saddam got saddowned gg

Or option three: add the single line to the apache config file to make it show as a LVL file.
-
No... The webserver tells the browser that it has a mime type of a bitmap file. Then the brower uses the default application for bitmaps.
-
Actually, as the .wa2s are already compressed, it wouldn't improve it that much.
