  1. Just save them as .bmp then rename it to .bm2 (same with .wav: save as .wav, rename to .wa2) Make sure to set: (Windows Explorer) > Tools / Folder Options > View tab > In advanced settings frame: Uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types'
  2. Well you should first try to get wired instead of wireless and see if helps
  3. that must be the reason why it isn't working for me. Use the file I posted, it works
  4. I do agree with you, astro. But making Continuum 3D is a wrong approach imo, it would take the fun out of gameplay. There are alot of free 3D games already available. 2D will probably be extinct in the future, yes. However, Continuum still attracts new players until this day.
  5. So it seems a third of the packetloss is caused by aol, the rest by some foreign router close to DSB. Both can't be helped unless you goto another ISP
  6. gj paine
  7. you should do a trace to the zone your having trouble with (Click on trace and let it run for a while, then click on export and post it here)
  8. yes Wireless Connections are known for their packet loss. Same reason why no real speed can be achieved with it.
  9. Well the word actually says it already; packetloss: the amount of packets getting lost. With above 0% packetloss packets gets lost during transfer - either with Server2Client (S2C) or Client2Server (C2S). I believe with lower then 0% packetloss, packets get lost but get resent so one of both sides (Server or Client) actually gets too much packets. Too high packetloss (even with negative) is always bad and renders you lagging (plossing) so much that it becomes impossible to play. Packetloss is caused by the connection from you to the server. If you are on a LAN (Local Area Network) this packetloss can be caused by other people using the internet connection. If that's not the case, either your ISP or some foreign router is doing a bad job. With AOL I was told that they were always the source of the problem.
  10. you totally misunderstand continuum, astro. CNL is dead, its not being worked on anymore. You ever thought about what makes Continuum so much fun? Its because its 2D, the customizable gameplay, its free and the perfect chat features. If you make Continuum 3D, you will compare it to another Space game 3D Shooter like the starwars games; continuum will never be any better then that in 3D. Making it 3D won't save Continuum, it will only be a chance of killing it even faster if everyone goes using CNL. What Continuum needs is a better client, since the current Continuum is not being worked on alot anymore. Hackers / Cheaters keep taking advantage of this and slowly but surely destroy the game.
  11. I'm sure that can be done (maybe some .reg file for internet explorer users), but too much work for just a simple feature (aka another way of opening continuum) that probably won't get used much.
  12. problem resolved
  13. I think most people get a little tired of registering everywhere, at least I am. I have a long list of email addresses and passwords for all kind of sites because every single site of them requires registration The Microsoft passport technology would have been a solution to this but it didn't got very popular due to different reasons. Oh well. Dunno if its suggested yet but zooming out would be neat.
  14. hm, might be a good thing for SSCI PARADIGM because it uses a subarena (?go cc) as a public arena. Still, it would destroy the whole zone's idea of having Public as a portal to other arenas
  15. What?! Priitk disallowed AOL people to enter? Why?
  16. That might just be the exact problem Danzaa, try another zone *cough* SSCU 17th Parallel *cough*

  18. ... and this topic ends in the trash forum.
  19. AOL? Yup thats your problem - AOL hates Continuum, don't ask me why
  20. And why the !@#$%^&* do you want to do this...?
  21. hm is your computer doing alot of other things on the background? I get the same message now and then when my computer is slow. The connection request to the server (or its reply) times out and the client will just aborting connecting with this error message. Nothing too worry about. Other cause of this problem I can come up with is that your connection is (too) slow or you have (too) high packetloss which cause the connection to abort.
  22. hmm, are you sure you can type in other applications but continuum? Can you type in the alt-tab window (chat window)?
  23. Do not try to run your client in the "Run As..." mode since that will protect your computer from the program saving files at your computer, hence the error. Do not delete the stuff in your zones folder or try to reinstall it since it won't work.
  24. Don't do that, that is not the solution since it will only create other problems. DON'T USE THE 'RUN AS' MODE
