  1. Huh? Is it me?
  2. It will happen. We need to make an appointment and then we can mess with settings. Stop suggesting that own server because that is not the way to go - it will cause more trouble then it will do good.
  3. OOPS lol
  4. - Make sure your name (or SS.. prefix) isn't already taken by another zone. - Make sure you have a good description of your zone. - Make sure you have a normal, good password set for your zone. - "sscentral.sscuservers.net 69.56.172.170" should be in your server.ini under directory servers - Give the directory servers some time to accept your zone. Check on stats.17thparallel.com if your zone is already listed on the directory billers (it should be in the 'Others' list) IF it still isn't working, post your server.ini here and I or someone else will look through it and check for errors.
  5. Make Luke= or Luke- - in time, everyone will call you luke. Mind that there is also a rumour that some names won't ever be reset (or they will be so late this game doesn't exist anymore).
  6. Contact mackieman in-game, he deals with such things. Don't expect too much though, he will most likely not allow it or give any other information about the name; he acts accordingly the rules and protocol outlined here.
  7. When the "player database" is offline (aka - the SSC biller) it won't change anything from you except for: 1) Your scores won't be saved, when the "player database" is back online you will have your old score when you log in again. 2) Your name might be different since you can't login to your normal name - this is a security measure. In SSC I believe you will have a ^ in front of your name when the database is offline. Nobody can change how much people are playing metalgear CTF at a time. Check http://stats.17thparallel.com/index.php?a=zone&id=141 for an overview of when the zone has the most players. (Time = time from washington, GMT-4)
  8. Courier New
  9. It will run with Run As... mode but Windows XP will prevent any saving to the harddisk. For most times this will cause problems since Continuum will try to download, save and load a map from the harddisk once you are entering a zone. Also, other weird errors and crashes may occur with this mode. This is the problem the guest is having. I'd recommend to not use this mode.
  10. Notice this topic is only about client-side, not server side
  11. not only bounty, also the specials you had/have
  12. Nope - same with Linux and hacks. More prying eyes fix bugs faster (cheats = exploiting bugs). However, the encryption should be kept closed to keep users from using their own client - or something.
  13. Just curious. It's possible to make a bot for this purpose, there is no such one available already.
  14. same here <_< Bah lousy Priitk - make it open source...
  15. We have it enabled in 17th Parallel - it allows players that lag out to get back in with exactly what they had (specials , ?buy specials, bounty). However, players can use the same trick to save a ?buy special for later on. (.?buy > fly to save > ?go subarena > Exit)
  16. mgb = a mess However, it's the way to ask the guru's of SS. However, in reply to your topic, you can have a bot do the same as timedgame. Have the bot count and once the time is over - let it *arena all scores. Can you copy/paste a sample of a timedgame score output?
  17. well, not really. If the problem is caused by something that can be removed then the problem can be "solved"
  18. Do you get a (green) message why you were put in spec? What I think is that happens is that you get put in spectator because of No Data when entering the arena. This is usually caused by a slow computer that has to load alot of stuff when entering the arena (level, lvz) and doesn't send any data when doing so. If this takes too long (hence the slow computer) you get put into spectator for No Data.

  20. The file is inside this package: Continuum .38 ZIP

  23. hm ok indeed I will take a look into it some time.
