You can't really compare it to a search because with a search you only search for specific keywords. The contents of the forum would only be composed of topics that has some value (attachments or important information) instead of the basic development questions. Examples would be the 3D Ship models topic, the RTF format of news.txt, etc. These topics you actually want to be pinned forever but that's not doable.

Hi, Problem: Alot of worthwhile topics in Development forum are lost in the long list of pages with topics. You really want to keep them preserved by stickying them all but that's undoable. Proposal: Make a new forum under Development, something like an archive or like "Usefull Development topics" where we can move the topics to so it gets easier to look them up and monitor them. Just a proposal, let me know what you people think about this.

You can even !@#$%^&* up a HTML website (coding wise) if you don't do it right. The new website needs someone experienced so a good structured website is created. It's harder to !@#$%^&* up something like that then to begin with another piece of crap that was made by a beginner.

MillenniumMan, you are incorrect. The image itself is in the .exe, yes, but you can change it. Pure Griffin Hybrid, make a new BMP and save it as splash.bm2 inside your C:\Program Files\Continuum\graphics directory. Continuum will now start by showing you your splash.bm2 image.

I would only move such topics. Deleting is really such a bad thing because everything is erased. Someone else that didn't delete the topic knows nothing about what happened. Locking is putting a restriction to where and what people can post. Nobody likes that. If the topic resides in trash talk who cares if it's 100% flaming? You don't need to read it. I believe in freedom of speech but ofcourse something should be done against spam/flame topics in general discussion. One of the reasons why I like MGB's forum so much - it's almost not moderated because % of all discussions live under "Trash Talk".

If your IP changes multiple times a day it should be possible. However, if they also deployed checking through a cookie then you need to delete that cookie first.

I don't agree with that idea, Dav. It makes the forum too much moderated and static. People will be afraid or hesitate to post. The spam forum is fine, it works and the whole forum is more active because of it.
