  1. This topic has been bumped enough. [Closed]
  2. You can continue crying in the S.P.A.M. forum as long and much as you like. [Moved topic]
  3. [3 posts above this one split from "Continuum .39 Beta" topic and merged with this topic]
  4. I have no idea what you're talking about, incomplete.
  5. Looks better but I think that some menu items needs still to be moved a bit. There are now the following menu items: SSCENTRAL NEWS | ABOUT CONTINUUM | TECHNICAL SUPPORT | SPECIAL FEATURES SSFORUM NETWORK | ART & SCREENSHOTS | GUIDE / TIPS & TRICKS | PLAYER QUOTES SQUAD CENTRAL | ZONE INFORMATION | FILE DOWNLOADS | SCORES & STATS If I was a complete new player I would read through the menu items and the first 3 items I read are "SSCentral news" , "SSForum Network" and "Squad Central". With each menu item I wouldn't know what it's about and some people would already quit at this point. Then I would read "About continuum" - yes that's what I'm looking for and I would navigate to there. After reading the about continuum a bit I would start searching for the download which is the item at the 3rd column, 3rd row. I would reorder it like this: /-- for new players --\ /-- More exp players --\ \/ \/ \/ \/ ABOUT CONTINUUM | ART & SCREENSHOTS | SSCENTRAL NEWS | SPECIAL FEATURES FILE DOWNLOADS | ZONE INFORMATION | SSFORUM NETWORK | PLAYER QUOTES TECHNICAL SUPPORT | GUIDE / TIPS & TRICKS | SQUAD CENTRAL | SCORES & STATS Art & Screenshots = related to about continuum, so next to it Zone information = something you need after downloading, so next to it Guide / Tips & Tricks = the last option in the section for new players because people usually read the guide for tips & tricks after getting a taste of the game 3rd + 4th column are identical to 1st column and 4th column in current menu What do you think? P.S. Remove those ugly W3C buttons! Nobody cares if it's XHTML/CSS validated as long as it works
  6. Be careful to show your zone to strangers until it's finished to go live Opening your zone before he does is pretty much the only thing you can do (this prevents people claiming that you stole his graphics while in reality it's the other way around). In the end you'll win if you keep updating your zone. The fact that he copied it shows that he isn't that creative and he won't change it much because he doesn't care. If you make your zoner even better then you'll win the "race".
  7. I'd say none but I've never tried [Changed topic !@#$%^&*le to reflect content]
  8. Maybe because alot of people are trying to get us to play a different game then what we like to play? (see: subspace.net)
  9. Moving this thread to the appropriate forum. [Moved from General Discussion to Gamers Lounge]
  10. uhm, even though you have a point Syrus, I think it's good Mackieman is here now - let's not scare him off. (yes I'm an optimist) Instead we should try to discuss a solution to the problem(s) you mention in your post. I'm sure Mackieman is reasonable.
  11. If you are using the Continuum .39beta client, use a normal client instead. Not all servers are set to allow the new client (yet).
  12. Try "botsip" instead, there is some confusion about which is the correct name.
  13. AhmedF I wish you die and go to !@#$%^&* to rot.
  14. Make sure the bot is on either vip.txt or on sysop.txt (and the bot logs into sysop upon entering the zone). The kickout delay is something the server does with clients sending too much packets. This usually happens if you're hosting alot of bots on the same server (> 3 bots). Your IP is then sending too much packets which alerts the server and kicks you off. Entering your IP into server.ini / botip property usually fixes this problem.
  15. It must be possible to hexedit subspace.net to sscentral.com in subbill (not that anyone uses that piece of crap).
  16. yup, with the bugs in the current client banning players is just like keeping a floor dry while the water tap is open. Also, the banned players are finding ways around BanG. For the few that don't know about it, there's even a forum out there explaining how to cheat in Continuum and providing programs which make it even easier. This needs to stop. Getting the client updated to stop this is already a step forwards because nothing has happened the last 3 years. On the other hand, Cerium is correct, the update isn't really interesting for non-staff but as we all know, the solution to that is unreachable.
  17. uhuh TWCoure would never display its errors in *arena messages nor any bot would (only a really bad coded one might). You could've known that
  18. You are all complaining about getting everything fixed right now, the message here is that you should be grateful for this baby step and maybe we can go on from there. Ofcourse it could be better but you can't have everything you want.
  19. Nobody here is able to give you that since almost nobody has such access to the SSC biller and the few that have probably won't do it because it takes too much time and it will be a bad idea.
  20. Odd... :-/ Some more things you can try - start Continuum 0.38 instead of 0.39pr1? Reinstall?
  21. Run 'dxdiag' and see if you can find any problems using that tool
  22. In safe mode your virusscanner/firewall/anti-adware might be disabled. Try disabling any of those in normal mode and see if the game runs.
  23. Moved to the Subspace Development Team forum, seems more suitable there.
