  1. Gar, I'm not trying to make an event for "normal" players who aren't in squads, my entire goal is to make squads more popular and formal. Not saying that my DT is the end all be all, but you're whining about how I'm not gearing it for non-squads, when that's the entire point. Squad growth right now is #1, not informal squads. If you don't like it, don't participate and wait for the next event. Rootbear, if you think usage determines if you're a newb or not maybe you should reconsider who the newb is, ok?

    It's different than the normal asking because of two big things. 1) Staff moderated betting. No way that the winner wont get the money 2) Gathers people to do something 2a) Construct project mayhem in HS

    Not really, EMP isnt worth shooting because of the amount of energy it takes to shoot and then the delay (for most bombs) to even fire something afterwards makes the EMP user vulnerable to an attack for who knows how long, especially in the open, in a base it isnt worth using beacuse of ammo costs and not making up for it, let's face it, in a base people arent going to care about your recharge being 0, they're going to care about thier energy getting closer to 0 - It's fine that it goes closer to zero faster, it's not like you were expecting to live anyways, right? I know for me personally, I dont care one bit that my recharge stop, I'll use my reps and bursts, and I'll still rush in just as hard and still be just as effective, it's not like I'll die a lot faster, only a little faster, I still have my energy. Sharks are pretty much the same, they dont care, their energy still picks them up, and they;re still able to move and eventually their recharge will be back, probably by the tim they're passed the enemy. Salvo could become the generic rush bomb or item spamming bomb, then cyclone differentiates itself from so so rushing ships to the ships that are more naturally adept to rushing.
  4. Actually no one has said that. And if you knew that I was staff from somewhere else you wouldnt be saying that since I do have experience with leagues, maybe not "a lot", but more than most. I'm only pretty new to HS, not the game itself.

    Give cyclone back to wzl/shark only Cyclone for EMP = Near useless to cause bomb damage, but it'll give rushing ships, which shark/wzl are more geared toward than other ships an advantage to rush with. Then again I dont think shark needs it, but if wzl gets it, so should the shark since they're both EMP based ships. Biggest problem with old cyclone was that EMP caused damage, now it doesnt.

    Whoever has seen this movie knows the basics of it, yada yada, etc. My idea to have this kinda thing in HS is.... Hyperspace Fight Club - Essentially once or twice or whatever times a week, whoever wants to participate gathers. For those of you who forgot the rules of the original movie, Fight Club... 1. You do not talk about fight club 2. You do not talk about fight club 3. When someone says stop, or goes limp, even if he's just faking it, the fight is over.[12] 4. Only two guys to a fight. 5. One fight at a time. 6. They fight without shirts or shoes. 7. The fights go on as long as they have to. 8. If this is your first night at fight club, you have to fight. Of course rules 1/2/3 are out. Rule four would probably apply, we could bend it at times I guess as long as rules are outlined beforehand. Rule 5 is staying, rule 6... umm I guess if you wanna do that that's fine.... Rule 7 stays true, rule 8 we can do probably. So the essentials to HSFC... -You show up to the appointed time -You challenge someone -The one who was challenged, if he accepts, makes a bet -The challenger will either accept the bet, add into the bet, or decline, if the challenger declines, something BAD happens to him, Idk what though -Players will be degranted before match and granted after match accordingly -Challengers will be picked at random (or maybe when they enter or eagerness? idk) -Time of HSFC will last 2 hrs or one or whatver. Comments/Opinions/Whatever
  8. You would never of had a DT in here in the first place if I didnt try and put this one together, why are you complaining when the first version is like this? If you wanna participate it's pretty easy, make a squad of five and sign up for it. The point of making DT squad oriented is to try and promote the squads to grow from nothing into a little of something, this is a foundation, a starting point for HS squads. Do you honestly think this will be the first and last squad based event that's going to happen? Next one will be a lot more squad based and if a simple DT isnt able to get squads somewhat !@#$%^&*embled and draw some lines in where players are, dont you think an event that is completely squad base is going to be a lot more hectic?

    Biggest problem is people are expecting a one hit wonder to kill people with. You need to use the bomb to either... weaken them or finish them. A lot of the bombs are finishing bombs, not to kill in one hit.

  12. The thing is, there arent enough of Haku-Sama around and too many who just do it because they have no choice. Dr Brain, dont you think all lanc's have to go through that? It's not just you or that one time you had an incompetent team. It's a very common occurrence when you have a stupid team. The biggest thing about lanc is that... Everyone else is making "MORE" money than you. Other than probably a maybe a few rushers in the entire game, the lanc makes the least amount. A kill > prox money, even if you have to shoot. Perfect example of this was a few days ago, I was the lanc and a few people were bntying, the bntyers made close to twice as much as I did and the people around me who were killing made more than me as well. It's not a matter of making some money, it's just that you lose the opportunity to make more money and it's boring.
  13. Only reason why I lanc is because I don't have faith in anyone who is on my team to lanc for me. It is quite boring and what's worse the no afk spinning rule is still in effect for it, the lanc needs a reason to lanc, other than keeping basing alive. That only lasts for so long before they get sick of it, the biggest reason for teams dying is because there aren't enough good lancs. Dr brain, I don't mean to out you or anything, but just last night when you were lancing, didn't after a while you turned on your sysop leetness? And it was a decent basing game, you, like any other human got bored because you were being the back lanc. Give the lanc something to make ppl want to lanc more.

    In essence Brain said that it wasnt very possible to have that done. Next suggestion.... To try and keep basing to what we have so that ship balance doesnt completely change, as it stands if we go turf as it is, everyone will go cloaking shark with toka and carnot. 7 bases in the 7 sectors. Only two bases or one holds turf flags Every hour or whatever, zone rotates the flags to a different base causing everyone to rush over there. Turf flags positioned throughout the base itself so that way when you move up, you touch a flag and since you now have more "turf" in the base, you get more money. Brain said it was sorta possible, just a lot of coding.
  15. I asked around with upper staff and they told me that a second pub isnt illegal, as long as you're not doing anything illegal in there. KOTH = The game has it's own version, not a rectangle, just based on killing and stuff.

    I'm just wondering.... Would it be possible instead of scattering flags all over if we combine the two forms of flagging during X population or whenever a mod or higher says to switch. Like when it's 5v5 turf basing in say in center, so instead of a super large center with a mini base, we have less center because the base itself is much larger now, mabe even wrapping around all over center? Idk, just an idea. I'm not even sure if it's possible to have both styles of flagging in the same arena if they're done separately. This will allow low pops to be fun, because you can still base and still center like normal, then when population becomes higher you can go back to the style of flagging we have. Of course the center base wont be too large, but it's just an idea.

    Biggest problem is that it's so much area to cover. I dont mind the turf flag concept itself, but if flags are going to be spread out like that, it's kinda annoying to run all over the place, not only that, half the ships are not useless because they're too slow to do anything. If you concentrated flags closer and didnt have as much open space, I think it'd work. Mabe make it turf flags in a base or something. Keep the base style we have, but lay flags strategically in the base itself. There you have a "real" turf basing since the more base you control the more pnts/flags you get.

    Point in fact - Other than clearing the lanc, no one has been able to stop the shark. And you talk rather big for someone who's never been able to stop the shark rushes either.

    I'm not saying flag games should last indefinitely, but if you have a tactic that's guaranteed to work and is near unstoppable, that's wrong. Every ship in HS has some way to be stopped. Wzl rushers can be stopped, terr rushers cant be stopped, etc etc. The only ship that CANNOT be stopped because it is just too good is the shark. I have tried many many tactics, probably not "all", but I've done a good amount of trying to stop sharks. It's not feasible, sharks will get passed enemy cluster, they will reach the lanc, the shark will then decide, do I wanna try and slip passed lanc easily, or should I coffin it. With all other ships, you can easily defend against them and even make room to push against them. A shark pushes pushes and you cant move forward because a couple of sharks are going to be able to push everyone on your team back. The point isnt to try and make a ship that is so rush friendly that it ruins base games, which is does. I dont like basing against sharks because they're just too overpowered. They get passed too easily, and there's too many things the shark can do to literally turn the game around single handedly. I think after we see the shark get nerfed that other ships will be used a lot more. I know I've seen a lot more spiders around for some reason, I've seen a good amount of levis, not nearly as much as before, which is good, and terrs are still popular. Wzl should get there soon enough because of the difference in terr/wzl still not being known by most people yet.
