Get your bullets.bm2 file and rename it to backup_bullets.bm2, open it in MS Paint, and select all. Right click -> stretch/skew -> stretch by where x is the value you'd like to stretch by. Save as bullets.bm2 in your Graphics folder and enjoy.

I like how you've used the term 'factually wrong' to impotently power your argument. There is no fact in what you've said, just useless words. But, I'd like to mention that throughout your other long-winded condescending blabbering posts, you've been whinging that there should be less talk and more action. Now there's more action, you're putting the people who are actually doing anything. You sir, are an idiot. For now, I beg you take your own advice.

Yes, putting down people who are doing new works for Subspace makes sense, Ori. You're doing a good thing. You're a decent guy. Prick.

Looks like a perfect Shield for Discretion.

Am I the only one who thinks they look kinda cool?

I'd have to agree that any new zone should have their fighting chance, and should be allowed in the main directory listing. Things are sorted by population, anyway. I do respect your views that zones should try harder to stay updated, or close though. I think in order for this to happen zones should be passed to the next person willing to give development a try more readily. This is something that current zone owners, or abandoned zones administrators need to think more about, and I guess only really applies to a very small amount of zones.

Hrmm... I think that the only thing that should be considered is whether the new client can obsolete Continuum in it's current state. Seeing as any new client going to have to be open source, number two shouldn't matter and I could bet that once the client is accepted as the main client for the game - there will be a lot more community involvement, which kinda marks out number three. The only issue is a client being able to obsolete Continuum. It will be here eventually, but until then this shouldn't really be a major concern for the SSC. I personally think that if the SSC could remove more of their reliance on PriitK things could be a LOT better, but it's just a case of doing so with the least bumpy ride along the way. Ultimately, until then the SSC will be just as impotent at significantly changing anything - and will just be a communication portal between zone owners, SSC zone hosts (and apparently some developers too).

Single player works, but I can't play Discretion Wars. I just don't see why I can't get the same output on my Mac I've spent hours trying to figure it out; it's becoming quite irritating.

My brother, and he found it on C&C.

I'd have to agree with Dr Brain. The system is the problem, not those using it. If they can manipulate the legislators to provide the loopholes, then the legislators _and_ the tax system is a problem... etcetera etcetera...

Ehrm, what? Realistically, in order to keep up you need to innovate. There's nothing innovative about Subgame. If you want to learn the ropes, then jump on Subgame, play with bots, edit staff files... If you want to make a successful zone (to contend with the current successful zones), then go with asss. It's future proofed. But anyway - I got Discretion running on Linux, but I can't get it to run on my Mac. Is it something to do with aedGUI? Thanks

I read the thread, but alas... it is only in a failed attempt to find a way to play Subspace on a MacBook Running Subspace on a MacBook is possible with Wine, too. I've written up walk throughs that are friendly for people who aren't used to the command line, too. Trench Wars has a resolution limit. This is applicable to everybody, and I believe is only there so people can't play with outlandisly large resolutions and get kills from farther away. I'd suggest talking to their dev team or making a thread on their forums if you'd like this to change. What problems are you having in Windowed mode?

What exactly is the problem with your monitor? Is Subspace appearing outside of the boundaries of your screen? If that's the case, then I'd be inclined to believe it's an issue with the computer detecting your monitor when you switch to Subspace. I'd suggest that you see if there are any hardware drivers that are available for your monitor it's self, even if there is some software that you can run with your monitor or whether your monitor it's self supports the video card that you're using. I know this may seem odd, but I had LOADS of hassle with an old CRT I had, it took me a whole day to figure out how to set up auto-detection for multiple settings profiles on it, too. If that's not the case, though - then I have no idea why your screen shot would be fine but what's appearing on your monitor not being fine.

Mhmm, either way I don't honestly see a viable solution to make any situation with the council good, but fair point.
-
Was that sarcasm, or did you say bureaucracy by accident?
-
Mhmm, I recall reading this in WSJ a while (years) ago. It'd be a shame if the system hasn't been fixed yet, but then I suppose Wal-Mart has the lobbying power to prevent any revisions like that from cropping up.

Well, I guess as BaK already mentioned it's a difference between the practical and the idealistic, or one could argue vice versa . I'd also like to bounce off what BaK mentioned about deterrents of crime. I think it was Freakonomics or Superfreakonomics that went over this point in great detail. Ultimately, it assessed incentives for committing any such crime, and then measured the incentives against pros and cons. The results that Levitt and Dubner propose strikingly show that even the harshest punishments for crimes with vanishing small incentives do not deter criminal behaviour at all. I'll grab both books and post their findings sometime later if need be. But back onto point.. I think what ultimately irks me about any eye for an eye punishment is that I believe it's ultimately the largest sign of emotions controlling our decisions. After all, emotion is the enemy of reason. It's just a matter of time, I believe, before people come to realise this (or did realise this). Of course, your perceptions differ from mine (practical vs idealistic) but it wasn't all too long ago that your head was put on a stick for treason - or that people could be openly hung (for whatever the court decided). I'd like to think that as democratic nations we've learned that death or mutilation isn't the answer to helping beat crime. I'd also like to think that our judges and juries can make level-headed decisions when trying to come to a form of punishment. Of course, in the short term we may think that the only answer to our issues are animalistic, particularly if we were effected at first hand - but this is why we trust in our courts. I will agree with you on though (partially anyway). The ways in which prisons operate I believe should not be anything more than a cage, where you have to live. I don't believe there should be any forms of entertainment what-so-ever, I just believe that basic human rights should be respected. Even the whole social interaction in a prison is too much. This has been one of the things that have really pissed me off about the rehabilitative system in general. I suppose that should be left for another thread, though.

Berlusconi (Italy's Prime Minister) hit in face at campaign rally
Lynx replied to Bak's topic in General Discussion
I thought it was quite funny on the whole... Lol But then I suppose some people would say that I'd be the type of person to find this funny so... Meh. -
Feel free to split the thread, and I'll happily talk about morals all day with you. It'll ultimately split out into our public liberties as a whole, then probably onto where the line of torture stops... Then no doubt will have some very partisan views but I'll still always stick by my opinion that if you think torture is just - then I am glad you do not have decision making power. Humans in general are far too emotional to be making on-the-spot decisions which can effectively ruin another persons whole life, on the gamble that they are in fact not innocent. Thank goodness I am on my holidays and have a lot of free time...

I dunno, I think it's more of a question of reliable packets when it comes to mobile connections, but I am no expert so... Edit: Which Continuum is nazi about.

... So you're suggesting that he shouldn't prepare an acceptance speech? Lol

Although Lynx has covered this quite well, there really should be no ethical part in a thread on the utility of torture. Good point, although arguing torture will be no fun without juggling ethics. Take no notice of my post...
